In this guide, you’ll discover how to obtain exotic class items and learn about their rolls. The wide range of available perks makes these exotic class items essential for any player.
So, you’ve completed the Final Shape campaign but still haven’t found the class exotics Bungie talked about in their interviews? They’ve hidden them well! Today, we’ll discuss the secret mission called Dual Destiny, what you can earn by completing it, and why these class exotics are so powerful. Let’s get started!
What Is Final Shape Exotic Class Item?
The exotic class item was one of the most anticipated additions to Destiny 2 with The Final Shape expansion. Now, in the second week of the expansion, it’s finally available to unlock. To access the new mission added in week two, you’ll need two Guardians, but there’s some preparation involved—the mission won’t unlock until you complete certain activities in the Pale Heart destination.
What makes this class item unique is its ability to feature multiple perks from existing exotics, allowing you to create powerful builds with synergized abilities.
However, there’s a catch: you can only use these perks with the Prismatic subclass. If you haven’t unlocked everything for your Prismatic subclass yet, now is the time to do so. You might think, “That sounds really strong,” but Bungie insists that Prismatic isn’t overpowered. Let’s explore how to unlock the exotic class item and the range of perks it can offer.
How To Unlock And Start Exotic Dual Destiny Mission.
To unlock the Exotic Class item, you’ll need to complete the new Dual Destiny mission. Before you can access this mission, you must first prepare by participating in the Overthrow events in the Pale Heart patrol zone.
Here’s what you need to do:
Complete Overthrow Events:
Visit The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse.
Complete the Overthrow event in each location by defeating the final boss.
Find the Secret-Keepers:
After defeating the boss, you have a five-minute window before the event restarts.
During this time, locate the Secret-Keeper of the Witch Queen hidden in the area.
Use your radar to find enemy markers and locate the Secret-Keeper.
Interact with the Refraction Area:
Once all Secret-Keepers are defeated, head to The Blooming.
Look for a green beam of light indicating The Refraction area.
Inside, interact with a small spot of light to gain the Savathun’s Envoy buff and a seven-minute timer.
Collect and Dunk the Orbs:
With the buff active, you’ll see two markers on the map.
At each location, fight waves of Dread and a Subjugator miniboss.
The miniboss will drop one of two orbs: Refracted Light and Refracted Dark.
Carry each orb back to where you got the Savathun’s Envoy buff and dunk it on the corresponding Light or Darkness plate.
Unlock Dual Destiny Mission:
When both plates are activated, the Dual Destiny mission will become available.
If you’re not ready to tackle the mission immediately, don’t worry—you can activate it later from orbit on the Pale Heart map. Just make sure to bring a friend along to complete it.
Dual Destiny Mission Walkthrough Guide
We decided not to attempt to cover every aspect of this incredible mission in text because you really need to see it for yourself. Unfortunately, we don’t have the skills (yet) to create a comprehensive video guide for you, fellow Guardians. Instead, here is the video we used to get our exotics.

How To Grind The Exotic Class Item For New Perk Combo
Completing the Dual Destiny mission will reward you with the Exotic Class item. But, what if your perk combo sucks? Luckily, you won’t have to grind the 40-minute mission repeatedly for each new roll. After finishing the mission, Exotic Class items can drop from any chest in the Pale Heart zone. Simply continue playing in the patrol zone, participating in Overthrow missions, and progressing through the destination Pathfinder, and you’ll naturally collect new drops as you play! Oh, thank God…

Titan Exotic Class Item
The Titan’s exotic class item, Stoicism, comes with the following perks divided into two sections:
Section One:
Spirit of the Assassin: Executing finishers and landing powered melee final blows will make you invisible.
Spirit of Inmost Light: Activating one ability strengthens the other two, boosting their energy regeneration.
Spirit of the Ophidian: Weapons ready to shoot very quickly.
Spirit of Severance: Final blows from powered melee or finishers cause a damaging explosion.
Spirit of Hoarfrost: When created, your barricade transforms into a wall of stasis crystals that slow nearby targets.
Spirit of The Eternal Warrior: When your super ends, you gain a damage bonus for weapons that match your Super’s element.
Spirit of the Abeyant: Enhances Drengr’s Lash, causing its projectiles to track targets more aggressively and travel farther.
Spirit of the Bear: Move faster while guarding with the Unbreakable shield. Damage blocked with Unbreakable is converted into super energy.
Section Two:
Spirit of the Star-Eater: When your super energy is full, picking up an orb of power overcharges your super, providing it with bonus damage.
Spirit of Synthoceps: Improves melee damage when you`re surrounded.
Spirit of Verity: Weapon final blows that match your grenade’s damage type grant a stacking bonus to grenade damage.
Spirit of Contact: Hitting a target with a powered melee causes nearby enemies to be struck by lightning and become jolted.
Spirit of Scars: Final blows with weapons that match your super’s element create a healing burst around you, granting restoration to your allies.
Spirit of the Horn: Your barricade releases a burst of solar energy that scorches nearby targets.
Spirit of Alpha Lupi: Activating your barricade generates a healing pulse.
Spirit of the Armamentarium: You get an additional grenade charge.
I`m playing Titan and was pretty much lucky with my first item. I got Spirit of The Eternal Warrior and Spirit of Synthoceps. This combo fits nicely in my Prismatic Titan Consecration Build using Twilight Arsenal Super, and Graviton Lance paired with Edge Transit to deal heavy void damage.
Hunter Exotic Class Item
The Hunter’s class item, Relativizm, offers the following perks divided into two sections:
Section One:
Spirit of the Assassin: Executing finishers and landing powered melee final blows will make you invisible.
Spirit of Inmost Light: Activating one ability strengthens the other two, boosting their energy regeneration.
Spirit of the Ophidian: Weapons ready to shoot very quickly.
Spirit of the Dragon: Your class ability enables you to swiftly reload all weapons and boosts weapon handling speeds for a short duration.
Spirit of Galanor: When you use your super and land hits or final blows, you will receive a return of super energy after it ends.
Spirit of the Foetracer: When you use an ability to damage a powerful combatant or Guardian, you will receive a temporary damage bonus for weapons that match the element of that ability.
Spirit of Caliban: Upon executing powered melee final blows, activate an ignition trigger.
Spirit of Renewal: Allies located within the Duskfield receive less damage, while targets inside the area deal reduced damage.
Spirit of Cyrtarachne: You get Woven Mail when you use your grenade.
Spirit of Gyrfalcon: After becoming visible again, your void weapons will acquire Volatile Rounds.
Spirit of the Liar: When you deal damage with a powered melee strike or get hit by a melee attack, you can then respond with a strong melee counterattack.
Spirit of Wormhusk: Dodging provides a slight increase in health and shield.
Spirit of the Coyote: Obtain an extra charge for a class ability.
While Titan’s Prismatic builds may not be the most impressive, the Hunter is a completely different story. There are numerous combinations you can use to double or even triple your damage in various situations. I`m so excited to gear up my hunter and test it!
Warlock Exotic Class Item
The Warlock’s Exotic class item, Solipsism, offers the following perks divided into two sections as well:
Section One:
Spirit of the Assassin: Executing finishers and landing powered melee final blows will make you invisible.
Spirit of Inmost Light: Activating one ability strengthens the other two, boosting their energy regeneration.
Spirit of the Ophidian: Weapons ready to shoot very quickly.
Spirit of the Stag: The area of effect provided by your rift reduces the damage taken by friendly Guardians within its bounds.
Spirit of the Filaments: When you cast an empowering rift, you gain the Devour ability.
Spirit of the Necrotic: Attacking enemies in close combat with your melee weapon will poison them. When a poisoned enemy is defeated, the poison spreads to other nearby enemies.
Spirit of Osmiomancy: Your grenades recharge more quickly upon impact, and the seeker summoned by Coldsnap grenades travels a greater distance.
Spirit of Apotheosis: After your super is over, you will temporarily experience a significant boost in melee and grenade regeneration.
Spirit of Vesper: Arc shockwaves are intermittently emitted by rifts.
Spirit of Harmony: You gain super energy from final blows with weapons that correspond to your super’s element.
Spirit of Starfire: Empowered weapon damage recharges grenades, and final blows with empowered weapons provide even more energy for the grenades.
Spirit of the Swarm: When a Tangle is destroyed, it creates Threadlings.
Spirit of the Claw: Gain one extra melee charge.
The same goes for Warlocks. All Prismatic builds are simply outstanding. Obtaining different perk combinations for exotic class items offers incredible possibilities to enhance your survivability and damage in any scenario.
Are Exotic Class Items Worth Grinding?
Absolutely! Imagine the endless build variations you can create. Having an exotic class item is like having two exotic armor slots simultaneously. The only drawback is that you must use the Prismatic subclass to activate your class item’s exotic perks. I would love to see how this item performs in a War Banner Strand Titan build, but unfortunately, that’s not possible this time.
