Unique Experiences
Raids require teamwork and communication, which can help you build stronger friendships and connections within the Destiny 2 community. They’re a great way to play co-operatively with friends or meet new players who share your interest in the game. Raids offer elaborate, multi-stage encounters with mechanics and puzzles that you won’t find elsewhere in the game, and these experiences can be exciting and memorable.
I’ll give you an example: my first raid experience.
A clan leader assembled us into a team for the just-released Leviathan raid. There were four beginners and two experienced players. It was an unforgettable twelve hours, with unforgettable adventures awaiting us at each step. We participated in a survival tournament, and chased after each other, collecting incomprehensible essences to survive and bring the flag to the center. In the baths, we had to shoot at strong opponents standing on platforms. Each person stood on them for a certain amount of time, and we took turns.
In the bath part of the raid, we had to occupy platforms and strategically switch roles in time. We also had to fight off powerful enemies appearing nearby. The main problem was managing the debuff that would accumulate if you were not replaced by a teammate.
The third area, the garden with roaming cabal dogs, was particularly dreaded. At the slightest sound, the dogs would begin their ominous howling, marking the countdown to our potential doom. Fortunately, with the guidance of our experienced teammates, we managed to breeze through this section in just four hours.
And in the end, the boss Сalus, ruler of Leviathan was waiting for us. How much time and nerves did he take from us… There was an incredible number of attempts to defeat him and nothing worked. Thanks to the previous stages we understood what we had to do. After 5 hours, we were able to defeat him. Our joy and emotions knew no limits. But how quickly it all disappeared when we went for the reward. Hundreds or even thousands of robot clones were there. Then we realized that we would meet him more than once.
The Weekly Featured Raid Rotation
Destiny 2 is a system that keeps endgame content engaging and provides incentives for players to revisit different raids. Each week, a specific raid is featured and its master version, if there is one.
Pinnacle Gear Rewards: completing encounters in the featured raid can drop pinnacle gear, which is essential for reaching the highest available power level. This makes the featured raid an attractive option for players seeking to maximize their power level.
Raid Challenges: during the featured week, all raid challenges within that raid are active. Completing these challenges often provides additional rewards and may contribute to triumphs and titles.
No Weekly Lockout: normally, raid encounters have a weekly lockout for loot, meaning you can only earn rewards from each encounter once per week per character. However, for the featured raid, this lockout is lifted, allowing players to farm encounters for gear throughout the week.
Rotational Schedule: the specific raid that becomes the featured raid rotates every week. The schedule is usually predefined and can cover all raids available in the game except for the actual raid (the last raid that came out).
How Do You Know Which Raid Is In Rotation?
In-Game Directory: You can check which raid is featured for the week by visiting the Directory. The featured raid often has a specific icon or indication showing it as the weekly featured raid.
Community and Websites: Many Destiny 2 community websites and forums keep track of and announce the weekly reset activities, including the featured raid.
Seasonal changes: Bungie occasionally updates the raid rotation schedule, especially with new expansions or seasonal content drops. Players should stay tuned to official Bungie announcements or the Destiny 2 community hubs for the latest information.
Purpose Of The Rotation
Keeps Content Fresh: Bungie rotates the featured raid weekly, ensuring that players revisit different raids, keeping the content fresh and engaging.
Accessibility to New Players: It provides opportunities for new or returning players to experience older raids that they might have missed when they were initially released.
Loot Farming Opportunities: The featured week’s lack of a weekly lockout allows players to farm for specific gear or complete challenges they might have missed in previous weeks.
Exotic Weapon
Each raid in the game features exotic weapons that are challenging to obtain. For example, acquiring “Divinity” involves solving puzzles with your team during the raid, leading up to the final stage. Once you complete these puzzles and defeat the last boss, you’ll receive your much-anticipated weapon.
“Divinity” and “Necrochasm” are particularly notable for their unique acquisition methods. While the other weapons on the list may not offer such intricate processes, your chances of obtaining them improve with each raid completion and the fulfillment of some triumphs.
Raid Weapons Exotic List
“Divinity” – from exotic quest “What is it… What is it?”.
“Necrochasm” – from Crota’s End Raid.
“Vex Mythoclast” – from Vault of Glass Raid.
“Eyes of Tomorrow” – from Deep Stone Crypt Raid.
“Collective Obligation” – from Vow of Disciple Raid.
“Conditional Finality” – Root of Nightmares Raid.
“One Thousand Voices” – from Last Wish Raid.
“Touch of Malice” – from King’s Fall Raid.
“Euphony” – from Salvation’s Edge.
Endgame Content
For many players, raids are the ultimate challenge in endgame content, offering a target to aim for and a reason to keep playing and improving. Additionally, the game features a “Master” difficulty level, where your gear level is capped, ensuring that enemies always have a higher level than you. In this mode, you’ll face three types of warriors: Overpowered, Barrier, and Unstoppable, each requiring a specific strategy to overcome, adding to the mode’s complexity.
Raiding in Destiny 2 goes beyond mere loot-its about teamwork and unique challenges that enhance the experience. Whether you’re a casual player looking for an enjoyable challenge or a dedicated gamer seeking the ultimate test of abilities and team coordination, finishing a raid stands out as one of the game’s most satisfying achievements.
Moreover, raids often include detailed lore and story elements that enrich the Destiny 2 universe, offering players a deeper understanding and connections to the game’s storyline and characters.
