Tarisland is a cross-platform fantasy MMORPG from the largest Chinese corporation Tencent. Players take on the role of brave adventurers who find themselves in the midst of a war that has erupted on the continent of Taris. Stylistically and gameplay-wise, Tarisland resembles a graphically advanced version of World of Warcraft, which is not surprising, as the latter is no longer available on the Chinese market. In Tarisland, players can choose the class of their character (with about five races and all the classic archetypes represented).
Developers promise a well-developed world, an interesting story, and various PvP and PvE activities. Tarisland will feature a large amount of equipment and skills, and the combat system follows a classic target-based approach. Despite being designed for mobile platforms and PC, a separate client with a redesigned interface and controls is also expected for PC users. Additionally, during the testing phase, Tarisland did not include auto-battle.
In addition, in the zero season of Tarisland, we can expect:

Alongside the game’s launch, Tarisland will also kick off the Legendary Dungeons Championship, which will run from June 21st to July 31st and consist of two stages. During the first stage of the championship, users will have the chance to win valuable prizes, including an Alienware laptop, Poco Phone X6 Pro, Razer BlackWidow keyboard, as well as various in-game rewards on the website by completing engaging tasks – players will have a total of 16 attempts.
In the second stage, users will compete against each other in speed running dungeons and defeating unique raid bosses. The second stage will start with the opening of access to the first dungeon – tentatively on July 10th. Players who make it to the top 100 in terms of speed in killing each boss will receive unique titles, achievements, and in-game rewards. For defeating the final boss – the devastating Fel Dragon – players will receive Ozon cards worth $15 to $300 depending on their ranking. In case of a tie in completing a task between two players, priority on the leaderboard will be given to the player who killed the boss first.
In Tarisland, there is a unique character progression system where all progress is planned out day by day from the launch of the servers. This is done specifically so that players who don’t have the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the game don’t fall too far behind those who play more. This system allows for a more even distribution of progress and game content, making it easier for players with different levels of available time to participate and ensuring a more balanced gameplay experience for all players.
Class skills are the foundation of the combat system in Tarisland and are central to the gameplay for various classes overall. Each specialization within each class has 6 unique class skills that gradually unlock as the character levels up. When a player changes specialization, all class skills automatically change as well. Throughout the adventure, players will gradually unlock the features of different classes and create unique skill builds. Each specialization has its own unique class mechanic. By skillfully using class skills, you will be able to adapt to various combat conditions and effectively overcome challenges.
Ultimate abilities are another important feature of the combat system as they complement class skills. Players have access to 2 ultimate abilities out of 6. Ultimate abilities can perform various functions: interrupting, dispelling, provoking, increasing movement speed, and crowd control. Each type of ultimate skill is suitable for a specific combat scenario. In order for each specialization to play its role in battle, the types of ultimate abilities and the responsibilities of specializations.
The publisher assures that there will be no Pay-to-Win elements in the game. However, you have noticed tokens for entry into heroic dungeons, a modest-sized bag, limited crafting points, and other items that are often associated with F2P projects. It will be important to see how these aspects look a couple of months after the release, as in the modern world, neither Closed Beta Testing nor even the launch can always be indicative.
It seems to me that even a hypothetical starting package of bags and crafting points will still be much cheaper than purchasing a World of Warcraft time card along with the cost of the next expansion like Dragonflight, especially if bought from resellers. Additionally, in other games, they don’t shy away from selling mounts for twenty dollars each. Keeping an eye on how additional items affect gameplay is crucial to ensure fairness and balance for all players.
Of course, in answering the question of whether to play Tarisland, we say yes. The genre has long needed a breath of fresh air, and Tarisland is precisely that new breath. The new leveling system, interplay between skills, combos, progression system – all of these make us want to dive in and experience Tarisland for ourselves.
