Tailoring In WoW Cataclysm Classic

In Cataclysm Classic, Tailors use Embersilk Cloth as their new primary crafting material. This cloth can be converted into Bolt of Embersilk Cloth or used for Unravel Embersilk Cloth to create various items.

New Additions:

Pseudo sets: Deathspeaker, Emberfire, Fireweave, and Spiritmender
Bags: Embersilk Bag and Illusionary Bag

Tailoring Specializations In Cataclysm Classic

In Cataclysm Classic, profession specializations, including Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing, have been removed. Instead of specialization-specific cloths, Tailors can now create “Dreams” by combining 8 Bolts of Embersilk Cloth with 30 of any one Volatile element and other reagents. The type of element used will determine the Dream created, with six different variations:

Best Secondary Profession For Tailoring

Tailors often choose Enchanting or a gathering profession as their secondary profession. Many opt for Enchanting so they can disenchant tailor-crafted items into various dusts to level Enchanting.

This guide for leveling Tailoring from 1-525 in Cataclysm Classic focuses on easily obtained recipes with the fewest complex ingredients. It also provides alternative options for when materials are hard to find.

Tailoring Leveling Guide 1-525

You will need around 59 Coarse Thread for levels 1-75. You can buy them from the Tailoring Supplies vendor near your trainer. Use SHIFT + MOUSE CLICK and type in the quantity you want (maximum of 20 for threads and 10 for dyes).
It’s recommended to buy dyes and threads as needed to avoid filling up your inventory.

1 – 75:

1 – 45:

102 Bolt of Linen Cloth (204 Linen Cloth).
Stop making these if you reach 45. Only make more if necessary.

45 – 67:

35 Linen Belt (35 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 35 Coarse Thread).

67 – 75:

8 Reinforced Linen Cape (16 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 24 Coarse Thread).

Journeyman Tailoring

Visit your trainer and learn Journeyman Tailoring (Requires level 10). You will need around 33 Fine Thread for levels 75-125. You can vendor any remaining Coarse Thread as you won’t need them anymore.

75 – 125:

75 – 100:

45 Bolt of Woolen Cloth (135 Wool Cloth).

100 – 110:

13 Simple Kilt (52 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 13 Fine Thread).
You might need to make a few more if skill gains are low.

110 – 125:

15 Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders (45 Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 30 Fine Thread).

Expert Tailoring

Visit your trainer and learn Expert Tailoring (Requires level 20). You will need 36 Blue Dye, 83 Fine Thread, 10 Bleach, and 40 Red Dye for levels 125-205.

125 – 205:

125 – 145:

201 Bolt of Silk Cloth (804 Silk Cloth).

145 – 160:

18 Azure Silk Hood (36 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 36 Blue Dye, 18 Fine Thread).
You might need to make a few more if you don’t reach 160.

160 – 170:

10 Silk Headband (30 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 20 Fine Thread).

170 – 175:

5 Formal White Shirt (15 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 10 Bleach, 5 Fine Thread).

175 – 185:

94 Bolt of Mageweave (376 Mageweave Cloth).

185 – 205:

20 Crimson Silk Vest (80 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 40 Fine Thread, 40 Red Dye).

Artisan Tailoring

Visit your trainer and learn Artisan Tailoring (Requires level 35). You will need 20 Silken Thread, 71 Heavy Silken Thread, 20 Red Dye, 5 Orange Dye, and 50 Rune Thread for levels 205-300.
