Structure – the entrance is located at the top of the island, behind a large, locked gate.

How To Open The Gate

To gain access to Scholomance, you can use one of the following methods:

Skeleton Key: Obtain this key by completing The Key to Scholomance quest chain, which begins with A Call to Arms: The Plaguelands! available in any capital city.
Rogue with High Lockpicking – have a Rogue in your party with high lockpicking skill to open the gate.
Powerful Seaforium Charge – use a Powerful Seaforium Charge to blast the gate open.
Death and Resurrection – have a party member die and resurrect on the other side of the gate.

Tips For Completing Scholomance

Party Composition: Ensure you have a balanced team with a strong tank, healers, and DPS.

Scholomance Boss Strategies

General Tips

First Room: Pull individual packs toward the entrance to avoid accidentally pulling other packs with casters, which can lead to a wipe.
Rattlegore’s Room: Trash mobs hit hard and can stun the tank. Avoid pulling multiple packs or packs with the boss to prevent being overwhelmed, especially with undergeared groups.
Viewing Room with Elite Students: Only start the event with Vectus if someone in the party has completed the Dawn’s Gambit questline. This is necessary to trigger the event properly.

Boss Strategies

Blood Steward of Kirtonos

Dispel Curses – use Mage or Druid to remove debuffs.
Manage Stun – keep track of the stun effect and use crowd control or healing as necessary.

Scholomance Layout Guide

To make it easier for you to navigate inside the dungeon, we offer you this route:

Starting Point:

Cross the bridge and go down the stairs on your left into a large room.

Optional Bosses:

Kirtonos the Herald: Found on a balcony to the right if you have the Blood of Innocents. This item is dropped by some bosses after completing the Kirtonos the Herald quest.

Room Exits:

Right Exit: Leads to Jandice Barov. Typically bypassed unless needed.
Straight Ahead: Leads to Rattlegore. Defeat Rattlegore to obtain the Viewing Room Key.
Left Exit: Takes you towards the final section of the dungeon.

Viewing Room:

After obtaining the Viewing Room Key from Rattlegore, return upstairs, unlock the gate, and enter the Viewing Room.
This area contains elite mobs which require a long series of quests to reduce their difficulty. Generally ignored unless the quest starting with Broodling Essence is completed.

Proceeding to Ras Frostwhisper:

From the Viewing Room, head to Ras Frostwhisper’s room.
There is a stairway on the left leading down to Darkmaster Gandling’s area.

Clearing Darkmaster Gandling’s Area:

Clear all six rooms and minibosses (three on the upper floor and three on the lower floor) to summon Gandling.
It’s recommended to clear the lower rooms first to avoid encountering Gandling before you’re ready.
