Nearly a year after the release of the “Crota’s End” raid, we finally have the chance to join the race to be the first to conquer the new Salvation’s Edge raid.
We’ll be up against an ancient foe of the Traveler, though one unfamiliar to the Guardians. Will this confrontation lead to a triumph for the Light or the Darkness?
Let’s set aside the storyline mysteries of our beloved game and focus on an equally crucial question: what rewards await us for completing this eagerly anticipated new raid?
The new armor sets in the Salvation’s Edge raid offer a fresh transmog style and practical advantages. Just like previous sets, these will accommodate raid mods for armor. We’ll showcase them below. Plus, who wouldn’t want to brag about being the first to obtain the new set?
Nullify – Legendary Pulse Rifle
Fires a hard-hitting, two-round burst. Slightly reduces flinching from incoming fire while aiming.
This is a standard Pulse Rifle with burst fire mode, decent range, and a good rate of fire. Its description reads, “Absolutely not.”
Imminence – Legendary Submachine Gun
Superb handling. Move faster with this weapon equipped.
An SMG with excellent handling stats. Its description reads, “Untether expectation from reality.”
Non-Denouncement – Legendary Combat Bow
Compound Bow. Longer Draw time optimized for damage. Press the “Reload” button while drawn to cancel the shot. This is a powerful Arc weapon that is both accurate and deadly. While its impact stat may not match that of a sniper rifle, bows are easier to use and don’t require special ammo. Its description reads, “This isn’t the end. Not yet.”
Critical Anomaly – Legendary Sniper Rifle
High damage, high recoil. A heavy and slow sniper rifle that delivers a powerful punch. The Impact and Range stats are the standout features of this weapon. Its description reads, “Embrace the chaos, for you are entropy incarnate.”
Forthcoming Devlance – Legendary Glaive
Hybrid melee/ranged heavy polearm with a frontal shield. Generates energy on dealing with ranged damage.
Good glaives are rare, but this one might become a favorite due to its unique trait. Its description reads, “Prepare yourself. Things get weirder from here on out.”
Summum Bonum – Legendary Sword
A heavy attack releases a shockwave uppercut, launching the user into the air. A quick follow-up swing after the uppercut delivers a homing strike that aggressively seeks a target. This is another sword for our collection that likely won’t replace The Lament. Still, it has some cool perks. Its description reads, “The greatest of all goods.”
We still don’t know the exact method for obtaining the new raid exotic weapon. Will it be through a quest like “Necrochasm,” or will it have a chance to drop from the final boss, as in many previous raids?
But we do know exactly what the weapon will be:
The new raid mods can be acquired as you progress through the raid, likely from additional chests similar to previous raids. These mods are designed to significantly assist in completing the raid. For those who aren’t familiar with raid mods, they offer specific benefits for raids when slotted into your armor.
What else can you obtain?
How to obtain the emblem, ship, and sparrow is still being determined, but you can find out from us later.
It’s still unclear how the new weapons will impact the meta in Destiny 2, but we recommend getting all of them to your collection, including the new exotic weapon. Based on past experiences, we’ll likely receive Deepsight versions of these weapons and be able to use harmonizers to craft them later.
Regarding the salvations edge armor, it’s more complex. It will have its fans, but personal taste determines your liking. I’d suggest getting it at least for transmog, and ideally for full raid immersion. Remember, only the armor obtained from the “Salvation’s Edge” can be equipped with raid mods, which will be invaluable for completing the raid.
Good luck in the Day One race, Guardians!
