Bosses before the final one drop medals that you can use to buy specific gear pieces from that dungeon. Usually, one piece of gear costs 3 medals, and you can buy up to 10 pieces this way if you run the dungeon enough times to collect the needed medals.

Raid gear can also be obtained directly from bosses or by saving medals. You either get the gear after defeating the bosses or save enough medals from raid bosses to buy the gear later.
