Most of the interesting places in Tarkov are closed, and you will need keys and key-cards to access them. All keys have a limited number of uses, use your keys wisely!
Like most things in the game, keys are lost when you die. Try to keep important and rare keys only in a safe-container, this will save you time on key farming!
When completing merchant quests, many quest items will be locked in certain rooms that can only be accessed with keys.
There are several types of keys, Regular Key, Sword Key, and Key Card. Key cards are only used in certain Locations. For example, you will need a white key card to access the Lab location. This card gives one-time access and can only be found in a raid or bought from merchants.

Eft Boss Keys

Some bosses drop unique keys that give access to certain secret rooms. For example, if you kill the Shturman you have a 100% chance of getting Shturman’s stash key. With this key you can open the cache at the location wood, which contains rare and expensive items: Jewelery, Money, and chance to get rare and useful Red Rebel melee weapon which provide access to additional extraction points.
Second boss key can be found on Shoreline location. Find Sanitar boss, kill him and get the Keycard with a blue marking. This is a location for the quest TerraGroup Employee!
