Awakened Raids are here, and the best way to master them is to get yourself introduced to the Season 4 best class for raid tier list prepared by Leprestore. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each spec can help you define which character to play this season, so don’t miss a chance to explore the ranking. Regarding the diversity of bosses, abilities, and unusual raid encounters, you can define the best class for raid in the 10.2.7 update!

Best Class For Awakened Raids In Dragonflight

The tier list includes summarised data on damaging output, healing output, and tank survivability in the three Awakened raids, Vault of the Incarnates, Aberrus, and Amirdrassil. It is worth noting that in season 4 you can purchase the Best-In-Slot (BiS) trinkets, rings, and weapons for the new special currency, Antique Bronze Bullions. Thanks to it, legendaries became a powerful asset once again, and some specs can clearly show more accurate powerful damage output as you can combine gear from all three raids.

Because this tier is complex and consists of three raids, and not just one, there are additional constraints you should keep in mind when you read our tier list and commentaries for the best class for Awakened raids. They can help you define how to improve the character after you have chosen the spec by using our tier list.

  • Do you have certain powerful items (like legendaries and rings)?

How Did You Make Your Tier List?

The tier list is not based on the average results in DPS or HPS of the particular specs. It shows how the best players of these specs perform. Therefore, you need to take into account all specific aspects of how your character can reach the best damage output with a variety of ways like enchantments, consumables, correct builds, gear, and many others.

The unique position of a particular spec in the tier list is secured by the combination of items with their tier bonus. That is why if you miss a particular aspect (don’t have a tier bonus, or an item, or chose the raid where your spec performs poorly), you may probably receive a result much worse than expected in our tier list.

Also, it is worth noting that when you plan to calculate the efficiency of your character according to our raid DPS tier list, keep in mind how Embellished items and items with special effects interact with each other and with abilities or passives of your spec. For example, Fire Mages benefit the most from the procs of the Seal of Diurna’s Chosen ring as it works only when you deal Fire damage. However, if you have the Incandescent Essence Helm enchantment, it will also trigger the ring from time to time.

Best Raid DPS In Dragonflight Season 4

Playing DPS in raids can be tough because, although usually you prefer to stay in the single-target build, sometimes you need to switch if there are many bosses present during the encounter (or there are many phases with adds). While combined with survivability challenges, this poses a unique set of requirements for the best DPS class and spec for Awakened raids.

Have a look at our tier list for this role and at a few highlights that should explain our choice.

Rank Range Melee
S-Tier
Marksmanship Hunter
Arcane Mage
Arms Warrior
Retribution Paladin
A-Tier
Shadow Priest
Frost Mage
Fire Mage
Beast Mastery Hunter
Devastation Evoker
Demonology Warlock
Unholy Death Knight
Enhancement Shaman
Havoc Demon Hunter
Windwalker Monk
B-Tier
Balance Druid
Elemental Shaman
Affliction Warlock
Destruction Warlock
Assassination Rogue
Outlaw Rogue
Subtlety Rogue
Fury Warrior
Feral Druid
Frost Death Knight
C-Tier
Augmentation Evoker
Survival Hunter

Although generally, Melee specs are rarely among the best classes for DPS in raids, thanks to the upgraded legendary two-handed axe, Fyr’alath, we can see great output from Arms War, Unholy DK, and Retri Pala. At the same time, thanks to the two rings from the Vault of the Incarnates combined with the BiS Nymue staff, range casters like mages top the DPS meters in all the raids except for VotI (ironic!) thanks to the variety of multi-target fights in this raid. And, of course, MM Hunter got in the lead thanks to the Neltharax bow which significantly boosts auto-attacks.

In season 4, the raid DPS tier list includes rank B not as something bad, but mostly relatively weak compared to other specs in all three raids. However, Augmentation Evoker still cannot get better after serious nerfs in season 3, and Survival Hunter feels extremely poor as a melee with low survivability (ironic again!). Perhaps, for certain Aberrus fights, FDK is a good choice, but it is very far from being the best class for Awakened Raids if you want to have a consistently high DPS.

The following are the highlights of the best raid DPS in season 4 of Dragonflight for each of the three raids. Grab these specs and classes if you plan to go to a particular place!

DPS Type VotI Aberrus Amirdrassil
Melee
Retribution Paladin
Arms Warrior
Unholy Death Knight
Range
Marksmanship Hunter
Devastation Evoker
Shadow Priest

Best Raid Healer In Dragonflight Season 4

In season 4 of Dragonflight, healing got severely nerfed, and some specs suffered from it more than others. However, thanks to the Bullions, healers now can embrace their increased gear power because of the outstanding combination of trinkets (like Seedling from Larodar together with the Rashok’s Molten Heart).

This is a raid healer tier list for the patch 10.2.7:

Rank Range
S-Tier
Discipline Priest
Mistweaver Monk
A-Tier
Restoration Druid
Restoration Shaman
Holy Priest
B-Tier
Preservation Evoker
Holy Paladin
C-Tier

As you can see, there are no bad healers this season, just the ones that may be weaker than others in certain raid encounters. All three raids of Dragonflight are quite diverse in which type of healing is needed. Should you heal DoT? Do you need burst healing? Generally, MW Monks and Discipline Priests can universally deal with this issue, and even the recent nerf of monks did not seriously decrease the efficiency of these healers.

SG_225_Breaker

However, due to the nature of the majority of encounters, Preservation Evokers and Holy Pals can seem to be not the best pick for your raid group. Clutch healing and the necessity to stay in place are crucial to these specs, and Dragonflight raids do not allow it as often as they may want it. That is why they are only placed in the B tier and cannot compete for the name of the best class for Awakened Raids among healers.

Below you can find which specs are the best for a particular raid. Keep in mind that we have taken into account the possible variety of builds for each spec as well.

VotI Aberrus Amirdrassil
Restoration Druid
Discipline Priest

Best Raid Tank In Dragonflight Season 4

The situation hasn’t changed much since the previous season for tanks as the core defensive trinkets in use for tough fights remained the same (hello, Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart!), and the legendary mostly doesn’t contribute much to the tanks’ performance in raids. Below you can find the raid tank tier list that relies on how good is the defensive potential of a tank in the encounters of Awakened Raids, and how self-sustainable the tanks are.

Rank Spec
S-Tier
Blood Death Knight
Vengeance Demon Hunter
A-Tier
Brewmaster Monk
Protection Paladin
B-Tier
Protection Warrior
Guardian Druid
C-Tier

Of course, thanks to the impressive gap in self-sustainability, BDKs and Demon Hunters appear to be in the lead. Blood Death Knights remain the primary option for groups that want to solo tank Fyrakk, and Vengeance DHs can outmaneuver complex situations like in Dathea encounter with a significant advantage compared to other tanks.

At the same time, other tanks should not be considered as “wrong” choices, but they obviously lack self-sustainability and require additional attention from the healers to have a situation under control. Both Prot Wars and Guardian Druids are performing quite well in raids, but the way they gather aggro and survive with more defensives than others can put the raid in danger in encounters like Council of Dreams.

Here is a list of the best tanks for each of the Awakened Raids. Keep in mind that for tanks, the combination of defensive trinkets can be extremely viable for the most challenging encounters.

VotI Aberrus Amirdrassil
Blood Death Knight
Vengeance Demon Hunter
Blood Death Knight
Brewmaster Monk

F.A.Q.

What is the best class in Dragonflight Season 4 for raiding?

It depends on which role you are interested in, and about which particular raid we are talking. We have tried to summarize data across all three raids, but your efficiency while playing a particular class can be significantly higher in VotI than in Aberrus.

What is the easiest class for raiding in 10.2.7?

It depends on the role, but we would say Beast Mastery Hunter. The rotation is easy to master, the damage output is decent, and Hunters now provide additional utility with their Mark. Great and easy to play spec!

What is the most popular class for raiding in Dragonflight Season 4?

According to statistics, it is Retribution Paladin, and most probably, it is because, among Fyr’alath wielders (new legendary two-handed axe), Retri Pals require much less time to master. They are fun to play, not very difficult, and can produce a huge output of damage in Awakened Raids.

Why do some classes perform better than others in 10.2.7?

Because of the Bullion system, people can now easily combine the most powerful items from all three raids, and, unfortunately, some specs don’t have such special items at all. For example, the Neltharax bow from Raszageth, the last boss in VotI, gives an immense boost to Marksmanship Hunters.
