How to get Shadowmourne in WotLK Classic

To begin the process of obtaining the Shadowmourne legendary axe, you have to be a Death Knight, a Paladin, or a Warrior. After making sure your class fits the requirements, you must reach Friendly reputation with The Ashen Verdict. That faction is located in the Icecrown Citadel, and you gain reputation by killing trash mobs and bosses in the Icecrown Citadel raid. Needless to say, that's quite a difficult grind.

Once friendly, you have to speak to Darion Mograine to begin the quest chain. First, you will need to get several crafting reagents and craft Shadow's Edge. After you've forged Shadow's Edge, you will need to go through a 25-player Icecrown Citadel to infuse it with Unholy power, Blood, and Frost, and kill three specific bosses each time. After that, you will have to grind the 25-player mode raid some more to get 50 Shadowfrost Shards. When you have all 50 Shards, you can craft and equip the legendary Shadowmourne.
