The Rite of the Nine is a time-limited event that offers you a unique chance to complete some of Destiny's most iconic dungeons with brand-new mechanics and exclusive rewards. Inspired by the Pantheon event but centered on dungeons, Rite of the Nine features a weekly rotation of three legendary dungeons - Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghosts of the Deep. Each of these dungeons was rebalanced and has new mechanics with additional difficulty modifiers. That makes them like a fresh challenge. In addition to this - The Third Spire was returned as the event's hub! Where you can access dungeon selections, interact with The Emissary of the Nine, and claim event rewards!

Rite of the Nine Dungeons

The event includes three rotating dungeons, all of which are familiar to most of all regular Destiny 2 players. However, each of them has new and significant changes, including difficulty modifiers and score points that affect the loot you can get. Here's a short list of difficulties and it's changes:

Explore Mode

• The standard difficulty level focuses on new players who want to explore dungeons for the first time.
• Buffs and Debufs like The Nether.
• Simplified base dungeon mechanics.
• More new respawn waypoints.
• Less boss HPs.

Eternity Mode

• The scoring system that affects loot quality. (Higher scores lead to better drop, including Adept Weapons)
• Lower the guardian power level, and increasing the difficulty of the dungeon.
• Increased enemy aggression and more mechanics or modifiers. Ultimatum Mode

Ultimatum Mode

• Contest Mode-level difficulty.
• New and harder modifiers like Notswap that drains all ability energy after weapons or armor swap.
• More Scores for your actions and less for deaths.
• The best drop

The Third Spire - Social Space

Returning from the Trials of the Nine, The Third Spire is the new social hub for all the starting activities and purchasing and rolling the Rite of the Nine Weapons.

• Start the dungeon that is in the weekly rotation.
• Buy and roll the weapons from the Emissary of the Nine.
• Take bounties and Rite of the Nine quests .

Rite of the Nine Weapons

The Rite of the Nine event introduces 12 reworked weapons from old dungeons and 4 completely new ones. All presented weapons feature nine themed designs and exclusive perks. These weapons are only available during the event! In addition, it has a New Origin Trait: Gravity Well - Reloading automatically gathers nearby ammo.
