Legendary Weapons
Destiny 2 weapons can be of different rarities, with Legendary and Exotic being the two most valuable. This category lists Legendary weapons, but you can check out Exotic guns on our Exotic Weapons page. Every activity you do will give you different rewards, so there are some unique Legendaries that drop from particular sources. You will have to do all kinds of things to get your hands on all of the Legendary guns, such as Raids, PvP, Strikes, and more. Check out our Destiny 2 Legendary Weapons carry to get these rare unique rewards. With how many Legendary guns are in Destiny 2, you’re certain to need help collecting them all.
Weapon Types
There are three different weapon types in Destiny 2 that you can switch between. You have your Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons, which you can equip in a corresponding slot. The majority of weapons you see will be Kinetic or Energy, which means Sidearms, Auto Rifles, Shotguns, Hand Cannons, SMGs, Scout Rifles, etc. There are also Power weapons, which are the heavy hitters used to deal massive damage, such as Swords, Rocket Launchers, Grenade Launchers, Machine Guns, and Linear Fusion Rifles. There are exceptions to this rule. For example, there is a single-shot breech-loaded Grenade Launcher called Fighting Lion that fits into the Kinetic slot and makes you feel like the Terminator with the M79 from the second movie. Most guns, however, will fall neatly into either of the three categories. Keep the exceptions in mind if you want to order Legendary Weapons recovery services from us, because they’re super cool.
The main differences between most guns can be expressed as the ratio of damage per attack speed. There are guns that shoot really slowly, but each shot is very powerful, and there are also guns that put a lot of lead downrange, but each individual shot doesn’t do a lot of damage. Mix and match your loadout based on your own style, and then order our Destiny Legendaries boosting to actually obtain it.
Damage Types
Kinetic weapons are pretty self-explanatory: they shoot bullets, and bullets hurt. You wouldn’t like it if a piece of sharpened metal hit you in the face at the speed of sound, and neither would the Dregs and Hive Knights. Energy weapons, on the other hand, can deal several distinct types of damage: Solar, Arc, Void, and Stasis. They are less effective against enemy health, but if they correspond to enemy shields, they will do a lot more damage, and can even produce area-of-effect explosions. Stasis, added in Beyond Light, uniquely freezes and slows enemies down. As with most items on the Destiny weapons list, Legendary guns sport a variety of weapon and damage types.
Ammo Types
There are several types of ammunition that guns use. Hand Cannons, Auto Rifles, Scout Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Sidearms, and SMGs use Primary ammo, which is infinite, so you will never stop killing enemies with them. Fusion Rifles, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Trace Rifles, and Single Shot Grenade Launchers use green Special ammo, which drops from enemies and ammo boxes. Finally, Drum Loaded Grenade Launchers, Rocket Launchers, Machine Guns, Linear Fusion Rifles, and Swords use purple Heavy ammo, which drops a bit less frequently.
Weapon Stats
Different weapons have different stats, depending on their frames and perks. Comparing these stats will help you determine which gun to use for a particular playstyle. Impact influences how much damage a gun does, plain and simple. Range determines the distance at which the damage starts to fall off and aim assistance stops working. Stability determines how much the gun recoils after each shot and how tight your groups are. Handling is responsible for how quickly you can switch to and from this weapon, and aim down its sights. Reload Speed is quite self-explanatory. Aim Assistance tells you how much the bullets will curve towards a target if you just barely miss it, and at what radius off center it will kick in. Finally, zoom tells you how strong the magnification is of the weapon’s sight. Pay attention to these stats to determine if a weapon is any good before you buy Destiny 2 Legendary weapons.
D2 Gunsmith
As Destiny 2’s guns are significantly influenced by randomly rolled perks, it can be a bother to keep track of how different guns behave consistently. Fortunately, there are community resources for that. D2 Gunsmith allows you to see different guns with different perks and their stats. You can pick out what guns you’d like, and what perk rolls are to your liking. You can determine a god roll for a rare gun to strive towards, instead of going in blind.
