Updated July 17, 2026: Diablo 4 Patch 3.1.1a has removed the one-crafted Mythic Unique equipment restriction in Season 14. Players can now equip multiple crafted Mythic Uniques at the same time, while the Corrupted Reaper has also received increased Mythic and Iconic Unique drop rates.
This is the change Season of Death Awakening needed. The new Mythic Unique system was supposed to give players more control over endgame gearing, but the original restriction worked against the entire idea. You could spend Pandemonium Fragments or Resplendent Sparks crafting several excellent items, then discover that only one of them could be equipped.
That limit is now gone. A crafted The Grandfather no longer locks you out of wearing a crafted Harlequin Crest, Melted Heart of Selig, or another Mythic Unique in a different slot. Builds can finally use the items players spent the season farming.
| Change | Current Status | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| One-crafted Mythic limit | Removed | Multiple crafted Mythic Uniques can now be equipped on one character. |
| Corrupted Reaper Mythic drops | Increased | The Season 14 Lair Boss now has better drop rates for Mythic and Iconic Unique items. |
| Unique Charms and Seals | Mythic conversion removed | The Cube can no longer add the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms or Seals. |
| PC release | Released July 16 | The equipment change became available first on Battle.net and Steam. |
| Console release | Scheduled for July 17 | Cross-play remains unavailable until PC and console versions are aligned. |
| Glints of Hope cache | More changes coming | Blizzard plans to add Superior Lair Keys to the repeatable cache in the following patch. |
| Mythic Tributes | Buff planned | The Mythic Tribute drop rate in the Undercity is scheduled to increase. |
The headline change is simple: the game no longer checks whether another crafted Mythic Unique is already equipped. The item can still display its crafted status, but that label no longer prevents you from wearing another crafted Mythic.
Season 14 changed Mythic Uniques from a separate rarity into an item quality that can appear on regular Unique items. Any eligible Unique can drop as Mythic or be converted through the Season of Death Awakening crafting systems.
On paper, Mythic Uniques 3.0 offered more control. Players could farm Pandemonium Fragments, collect Resplendent Sparks, choose the equipment slot they needed, and keep rolling until they found something useful.
Then came the restriction: only one crafted Mythic Unique could be equipped at a time.
Dropped Mythics did not have the same limit. Mythics earned from drops or caches could be stacked across several equipment slots, while items created through crafting were blocked. That made crafted gear feel like a weaker version of the same reward, even though players had deliberately farmed the materials required to make it.
The system also created an awkward endgame decision. Finding or crafting a second strong Mythic was not automatically exciting. Before equipping it, you had to remove the crafted Mythic already supporting your build. In many cases, the new item simply went into the stash.
Players were direct about the problem. The restriction did not make Mythics more interesting. It made the new crafting system less useful.
You can now equip multiple crafted Mythic Uniques at the same time. Patch 3.1.1a removed the global one-crafted-Mythic restriction.
There is no special limit of two, three, or four crafted items. You can use a crafted Mythic in every compatible equipment slot if your build supports it and you have the required items.
Regular equipment rules still matter. You cannot wear two helmets or equip weapons that conflict with your class setup. The patch removes the crafted-item cap; it does not remove normal slot restrictions.
A Barbarian, for example, can now build around a crafted The Grandfather while also using crafted Mythic armor and jewelry. The same applies to every other class. You are no longer forced to choose one crafted centerpiece while leaving the rest in storage.
Yes. A crafted The Grandfather can now be equipped alongside other crafted Mythic Uniques.
This is one of the biggest practical effects of the patch. The Grandfather takes an extremely valuable weapon slot, but its power can now be combined with crafted Mythics such as Harlequin Crest, Melted Heart of Selig, or Ring of Starless Skies without triggering the old equipment warning.
Community testing immediately started producing heavily stacked Mythic builds. One post-patch Barbarian setup shown in the supplied gameplay test reached roughly 25,000% Critical Strike Damage while using The Grandfather. That number is build-specific, not a universal bonus from the patch, but it shows how much room has opened for new gearing combinations.
Build planners will need updates. A setup created around the old one-crafted limit may now have several stronger versions depending on which Legendary Aspects can be sacrificed for additional Mythic Uniques.
The equipment restriction is gone, but the actual crafting process remains based on the Season 14 Mythic Unique system.
The Upgrade to Mythic recipe becomes available at level 70 in Torment difficulty. You place an eligible Unique item into the Horadric Cube and receive a random class-usable Mythic Unique for the same equipment slot.
Patch 3.1.1 reduced the cost from five to four Pandemonium Fragments. The recipe also requires an eligible Unique item with at least 850 Item Power.
The original Unique does not improve the odds of receiving a specific item. Putting Frostburn into the Cube does not make Mythic Frostburn more likely. What matters is the slot: Unique boots produce Mythic boots, a helmet produces a Mythic helmet, and so on.
The base item’s original affixes and Greater Affixes are rerolled during conversion. Do not sacrifice a valuable Unique expecting its existing roll to survive.
The Jeweler offers a second crafting route using Resplendent Sparks and specific Runes. The listed recipe requires three Resplendent Sparks and 18 required Runes.
This route demands more specific materials, while the Cube recipe lets you repeatedly upgrade random Uniques from the slot you need. With the equipment limit removed, both methods have more value because successful crafted items can be used together instead of competing for one allowed slot.
Yes. Crafted items can still carry their crafted designation. The patch removed the equipment restriction connected to that status; it did not turn crafted items into natural drops.
You may therefore still see wording associated with crafted Mythics in the item interface. What matters is that the game now allows the items to be equipped together.
Patch 3.1.1a also increased the drop rates of Mythic and Iconic Unique items from the Corrupted Reaper, the seasonal boss found in the Pandemonium Threshold.
Blizzard did not publish an exact new percentage. Any precise drop-rate number circulating immediately after the patch should be treated as an estimate unless Blizzard confirms it.
The early results in the supplied gameplay test were dramatic. The player reported receiving one Iconic Mythic in roughly 250 Corrupted Reaper kills before the latest increase, followed by four Iconic Mythics during five post-patch kills.
That does not prove that the new drop rate is close to 80%. Five kills are far too small a sample. It does show that the patch is producing noticeably different results for at least some players, and the official notes confirm that both Mythic and Iconic Unique drop rates were raised.
The Corrupted Reaper is now the most important direct Mythic farming target in Season 14. It already served as the seasonal source for Pandemonium Fragments and Mythic Unique drops, and Patch 3.1.1a increased its Mythic reward rates again.
| Farming Step | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Farm Deathtoll Chambers | High-Torment Chambers guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key and can support repeated Corrupted Reaper runs. |
| Kill the Corrupted Reaper | The boss has increased Mythic and Iconic Unique drop rates and can drop Pandemonium Fragments. |
| Collect Glints of Hope | The repeatable reputation reward guarantees a Pandemonium Fragment after Patch 3.1.1. |
| Upgrade Uniques by slot | Use unwanted 850+ Uniques from the slot you need with four Pandemonium Fragments. |
| Keep useful crafted results | You can now equip several successful crafts instead of selecting only one. |
Some players are holding their repeatable Glints of Hope caches because Blizzard plans to add Superior Lair Keys to them in the next patch. Be careful with that strategy. Blizzard confirmed the future cache change but did not confirm whether caches earned before the update will retroactively use the new reward table.
The safer route is to continue collecting Glints of Hope and Pandemonium Fragments while avoiding assumptions about unopened caches until the next patch is live.
It makes them possible. That does not mean filling every slot with a Mythic Unique will always be the best setup.
Every Mythic takes the place of another item. Adding one may cost you a Legendary Aspect, set interaction, tempering combination, or specific Unique Power needed to keep the build running. Raw Mythic stats are strong, but Diablo 4 builds still depend on how all their multipliers fit together.
The biggest winners are builds that already wanted several Mythics but were blocked because their best options had to be crafted. The Grandfather setups are an obvious example. Players can lock The Grandfather into the weapon slot, move an important offensive Aspect to a ring or another available slot, and test additional crafted Mythics around it.
This patch will not create one universal full-Mythic loadout. It will create more versions of existing builds, particularly for Barbarian, Rogue, Sorcerer, and other classes whose endgame setups have several strong Mythic candidates.
Patch 3.1.1a removed the ability to add the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms and Seals through the Horadric Cube.
Blizzard described that interaction as an unintended side effect of another fix rather than an intended Season 14 feature. This means the patch is not a universal removal of every Mythic restriction. The equipment cap on crafted Mythic gear is gone, but Unique Charms and Seals can no longer be converted into Mythic versions through that unintended method.
Players who saw Mythic Charms or Seals appearing around the patch should not treat them as part of the permanent Season 14 crafting system.
Blizzard did not quietly adjust a hidden percentage and call the problem solved. The studio removed the rule players were actually complaining about.
The original crafted limit made farming materials feel pointless after the first successful item. Removing it gives Pandemonium Fragments, spare Uniques, Runes, and Resplendent Sparks a reason to remain relevant throughout the season.
It also respects the basic reward loop. When a player crafts a strong item, the natural response should be excitement, not a trip to the stash to decide which other crafted item must come off.
The change should have arrived earlier. Players raised concerns about the Mythic system during testing and continued pushing the issue after Season 14 launched. Still, reversing the restriction is better than defending a rule that was hurting the season.
Blizzard’s accompanying statement openly acknowledged that seasonal experiments do not always land as intended. In this case, the community made the problem impossible to ignore, and the system changed.
Possibly, but Blizzard has not confirmed a general return of the restriction.
The Patch 3.1.1a developer note says Season 15 will change the Horadric Cube again. Mythic reroll crafting is expected to be removed and replaced with a direct upgrade that preserves the original Unique item.
Blizzard may evaluate bringing back an equipment rule for that specific Season 15 crafting path. This does not mean the current Season 14 restriction is secretly still active, and it does not confirm that every crafted Mythic will be limited again next season.
For the current Season of Death Awakening, multiple crafted Mythic Uniques can be equipped together.
The PC version of Patch 3.1.1a was released on July 16, 2026. The console version was scheduled for July 17.
Because PC and console players temporarily had different game versions, cross-play was disabled during the gap between releases. Blizzard stated that cross-play would be re-enabled once the console patch became available.
Console players who still see the old crafted Mythic restriction should check that Patch 3.1.1a has been downloaded and installed before testing their equipment.
Blizzard has already announced another round of Mythic-related changes for the following patch.
Superior Lair Keys will be added to the repeatable Glints of Hope cache, giving players another route into Corrupted Reaper farming. The Mythic Tribute drop rate in the Undercity will also be increased.
No final percentage was published for the Mythic Tribute change. Claims that the rate will become 50% or 100% remain speculation until the next patch notes provide an exact value.
Class balance and leaderboard bugs still need work, but the main Mythic crafting complaint has finally been addressed. Players can farm the seasonal system, craft the items they need, and actually wear the results.
Patch 3.1.1a fixes the most frustrating part of Diablo 4 Season 14’s Mythic Unique overhaul. The one-crafted limit is gone, Corrupted Reaper drops have been improved, and Pandemonium Fragments now have a purpose beyond creating one item for each character.
The patch does not guarantee that every full-Mythic build will be good. Legendary Aspects and equipment-slot pressure still matter. What it does provide is freedom to test those builds instead of having the game reject them before they can be equipped.
This is the kind of mid-season correction players had been asking for. The community pushed back, Blizzard changed the rule, and Mythic Uniques 3.0 finally has room to work.
Yes. Patch 3.1.1a removed the restriction that allowed only one crafted Mythic Unique to be equipped at a time in Season 14.
There is no separate global cap on crafted Mythic Uniques after Patch 3.1.1a. You can equip as many as your class setup and normal equipment slots allow.
Yes. A crafted The Grandfather can now be equipped with a crafted Harlequin Crest and other crafted Mythic Uniques in compatible slots.
Yes. Blizzard officially increased the drop rates of Mythic and Iconic Unique items from the Corrupted Reaper in Patch 3.1.1a. An exact percentage was not published.
The Horadric Cube Upgrade to Mythic recipe costs four Pandemonium Fragments after the cost was reduced from five in Patch 3.1.1.
Not through the unintended Cube interaction removed in Patch 3.1.1a. Blizzard stated that adding the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms and Seals was not an intended Season 14 feature.
Blizzard scheduled the console release for July 17, 2026, one day after the PC release. Players should verify that the patch is installed before testing multiple crafted Mythics.
Cross-play was temporarily disabled because PC received Patch 3.1.1a before consoles. Blizzard said it would be restored once all platforms were running the same version.
Blizzard may consider a restriction for a specific new Horadric Cube upgrade path in Season 15, but no general Season 15 equipment limit has been confirmed.
