Holiday Events
Like many other MMO games, Destiny 2 has special celebratory seasonal events based on real-world holidays. Every event has its own visual theme, its own rewards, and its own events that you have to participate in to earn these rewards. These events happen every year, and are primarily aimed at celebrating something, but they can be a lot of work as well. Let us take a look at some of these events.
The Dawning
The Dawning is the most prominent, because it takes place during the winter holidays in December and January. Many cultures have some type of a celebration around that time, and, being a Western game, so does Destiny 2. Like in the real world, the Dawning is centered around giving gifts, playing games, and having fun to commemorate the passing year. The main activity during the Dawning is collecting ingredients and Essence of Dawning by completing special Bounties and killing enemies in specific ways. These ingredients and Essence are then used to make delicious pastry gifts for NPC characters using Destiny Dawning recipes. You then exchange the gifts for unique seasonal items, such as armor sets, weapons, Sparrows, and Ghost skins. You can also earn unique limited-time Triumphs if you play diligently. In Destiny Dawning 2021 took place in the second half of December and lasted until the first days of January.
Festival of the Lost
Festival of the Lost is a holiday based on Halloween. Like in the real world version of the holiday, it involves remembering the dead, dressing up in costumes, participating in horror-themed events, and getting lots of candy. The candy is the most important part of the Festival, and the primary item that you have to farm. You also get to farm unique Halloween-themed weapons. You can exchange the candy for other items that serve as rewards for the event. Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost takes place in October, right when the entire Internet is preoccupied with being spooky, so it’s only fitting. As with all other events, you can earn time-limited Triumphs if you put enough time into the game.
The Solstice of Heroes
The Solstice of Heroes, Destiny 2’s summer event, is an event themed around commemorating the military achievements of Guardians during the numerous conflicts with different alien lifeforms. The event features a unique seasonal location where Guardians can matchmake to form fireteams and complete boss rush-style activities to earn seasonal armors and other rewards. These other rewards include temporary elemental powerups, reward progress acceleration tokens for alts, armor glow effects, and Ghost skins. Apart from these rewards, you guessed it, there are seasonal limited-time Triumphs that you get locked out of when the event ends. Funnily enough, it doesn’t take place during the actual summer solstice, which happens in June; instead, you can participate from July to August.
While these events are ongoing, we, of course, always offer to get these rewards for you. Bungie usually expects players to play a lot during that time to earn all the rewards and get every achievement. If you have any real-world commitments, such as celebrating the winter holidays with your family and friends, you can’t spend the whole day farming Destiny 2. This is where we come in. Let us take care of these events for you. After all, games exist for you to have fun with them, not to treat them like a job, especially during celebrations. You can have these rewards for the rest of your time with the game without spending nearly as much time grinding it on holidays.
