Level 45 is where AION 2 stops giving you one obvious route. The MSQ is no longer the only thing pushing your character forward, and the map can suddenly look like a list of chores. The useful way to sort it is simple: finish permanent one-time power first, then move into repeatable gear and reset content.
You do not need to clear 100% of the map before entering a dungeon. What matters is knowing what each activity improves. Regional Quests feed skills and boards. Sealed Dungeons add more of the same permanent resources. Strongholds improve the Noble Belt. Empyrean Traces move the Monolith and Revelation Amulet. Expeditions then become the repeatable gear loop.
AION 2 Post-45 Route at a Glance
You Hit 45. What Actually Comes First?
Start by checking what you already finished while leveling. A player who rushed the MSQ may have dozens of one-time rewards left. A player who cleared useful content on the way may be ready for Expeditions much sooner. There is no reason to repeat work you already completed.
| Activity | What It Gives | Type | Why Do It Now? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regional Quests | Wisdom Stones, Daevanion Crystals, gear, titles, Kina and materials | One-time | Cheap permanent skill and board power, especially if you rushed the MSQ. |
| Sealed Dungeons | Wisdom Stones, Daevanion Crystals and other clear rewards | One-time | Large permanent resource pool on your home map. |
| Strongholds | Noble Belt Enhance Scrolls | One-time | Directly improves a special gear slot with a fixed upgrade track. |
| Empyrean Traces | Monolith levels and Revelation Amulet scrolls | One-time / server Monolith | Good when the next Monolith reward completes an amulet step. |
| Daevanion Boards | Stats and skill levels | Permanent spend | Turns the resources above into real power. |
| Expeditions | Repeatable gear, Kina and materials | Repeatable | Main gear route once your one-time catch-up is in reasonable shape. |
| Daily and Weekly Content | AP, shop currency, Arcana, Stigma materials and more | Repeatable | Prevents reset-limited resources from being wasted. |
A good first pass is permanent power that is fast and close, then the repeatable content your build can already clear. Do not delay a useful Expedition for hours just because one feather or one distant green quest is still on the map.
Finish the Regional Quests You Skipped
Green quests are easy to ignore during an MSQ rush, but their rewards remain useful at 45. Global has 58 Regional Quests for each home faction route. Across that set, the important permanent rewards include Wisdom Stones and Daevanion Crystals, while individual chains can also pay gear, accessories, titles, Kina, materials, or utility rewards.
Wisdom Stones feed the normal skill-point track. Daevanion Crystals feed the stat boards. Those rewards still matter even if the ring or necklace from the quest is already worse than your dungeon gear.
| Reward | System Affected | Still Useful With Better Dungeon Gear? |
|---|---|---|
| Wisdom Stone | Normal skill levels | Yes. Gear does not replace the skill point. |
| Daevanion Crystal | Daevanion Boards | Yes. Board nodes are permanent. |
| Quest accessory or gear | Gear / item level | Maybe. Compare it with what you already wear. |
| Title | Title collection and displayed title stats | Yes when the title adds a useful stat or collection entry. |
| Kina and materials | Enhancement, crafting and general costs | Yes, but they are secondary to the permanent rewards. |
If you left a large part of your home map unfinished, Regional Quests are a sensible catch-up block between dungeon sessions. If you want this part completed without doing every chain yourself, see the current Regional Quest completion options.
Clear Sealed Dungeons for Board Progress
Sealed Dungeons are one-time solo clears, not a weekly dungeon farm. On the current Global build, your home region has 61 of them. Each home-side clear pays 2 Wisdom Stones and 2 Daevanion Crystals, so the full set represents a large pool of permanent skill and board resources.
This is why a Sealed Dungeon is worth thinking about as a power node rather than a question mark. If one is close to your route, clearing it gives a direct reason to stop. You do not need to sweep the whole map in one session.
| Side | Current Global Reward Pattern | Main Reason to Clear |
|---|---|---|
| Home faction map | 2 Wisdom Stones + 2 Daevanion Crystals per Sealed Dungeon, plus the dungeon’s other listed rewards | Permanent skill and Daevanion Board catch-up. |
| Enemy faction map | No duplicate Wisdom Stone or Daevanion Crystal reward on current Global tables; rewards focus on Kina, AP and Enhance Stones | Extra Rift rewards, AP or completion goals, not a second copy of home-side board power. |
That home-versus-enemy difference matters. Older KR/TW routes often treat both maps as one big permanent-power sweep. Global does not copy that reward structure. For home-side cleanup or a custom set of clears, see the Sealed Dungeon completion options.
Strongholds Are for Your Belt
Strongholds have a much clearer job. Your home faction map has 15 one-time Stronghold clears, and the current Global reward table gives 2 Noble Belt Enhance Scrolls from each. That is 30 scrolls across the full home set.
The Noble Belt is one of the special gear slots. Its early enhancement steps are guaranteed, and the belt can move into its next grade after a +10 cycle. Because the belt gives defensive stats and its own item level, Strongholds are a direct way to improve a slot that normal Expedition drops do not replace in the same way.
| Stronghold Reward | Used For | Permanent? | Global Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Noble Belt Enhance Scroll | Noble Belt enhancement | Yes, once spent on the belt | 2 per home Stronghold on current Global data. |
| Home Stronghold set | Belt catch-up | Yes | 15 clears, 30 belt scrolls in total. |
| Enemy Stronghold rewards | AP and other enemy-side rewards | Depends on reward | No second set of home-side belt scrolls on Global. |
If your belt is behind while normal armor is already improving, Strongholds can be a better use of time than another random gear farm. The current Stronghold completion options cover this one-time map route.
Stop Collecting Feathers Once You Have the Upgrade You Need
Empyrean Traces, usually called feathers by players, feed your faction Monolith. Global changed this system enough that old KR/TW feather totals should not be copied into a Global route.
On the current Global setup, one collected feather contributes 4 Monolith points. The regional Monolith has 30 stages and the full track reaches 560 points. That means the final stage is a long-term collection goal, not a requirement before you start doing Expeditions.
The practical reason to collect feathers is the Revelation Amulet. Monolith stages award the matching enhancement scrolls and other account resources. The amulet itself can be enhanced to +10, then moved through Substance Morph into its next available grade. If the next Monolith reward gives the scroll you need for that step, collect enough traces to reach it. If your next useful reward is far away, you can return later.
| Next Target | Cost / Threshold | What It Gives | Stop Here or Continue? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Next Monolith reward | Use the live stage requirement in your Monolith UI | Can include Revelation Amulet Enhance Scrolls and other Monolith rewards | Good short target if it finishes an immediate upgrade. |
| Revelation Amulet +10 | 10 successful enhancement steps | Completes the current grade’s enhancement cycle | Strong practical breakpoint before chasing the whole map. |
| Monolith Stage 30 | 560 total Monolith points on current Global data | Completes the regional Monolith track | Long-term cleanup, not required for your first post-45 dungeon runs. |
For a full collection route, the Empyrean Trace farming options cover the map grind. The important part for normal play is to stop when the next feather no longer solves a current problem.
Check Your Daevanion Boards Before You Chase More Gear
A new level-45 character can look undergeared when the real gap is an almost empty Daevanion Board. Global has four main stat boards for PvE growth plus the separate Azphel PvP board. The PvE boards use Daevanion Crystals and include normal stat nodes, stronger special-stat nodes, and skill-level nodes.
Leveling, your home Regional Quests, and your home Sealed Dungeons together provide 316 Daevanion Crystals on the current Global build. Filling all four stat boards costs more than that, so do not wait until you can complete every node. Spend points on the path that improves the skills and stats your build actually uses.
| Source | Board Currency | One-Time or Repeatable? |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling | Daevanion Crystals | One-time per character |
| Home Regional Quests | Daevanion Crystals | One-time |
| Home Sealed Dungeons | 2 Daevanion Crystals per clear | One-time |
| Nightmare shop | Additional Daevanion Crystals for its shop currency | Repeatable route with shop limits |
Spend the crystals before assuming another weapon drop will fix everything. For a deeper breakdown of what actually raises your displayed numbers, use the upcoming guide to GS and Combat Power.
Move Into Expeditions When Your Build Is Ready
Once the easy permanent catch-up is handled, Expeditions become the main repeatable gear route. Global uses Expedition reward claims rather than treating every clear as guaranteed loot. Odyle Energy is spent when you claim the reward cube, not when you enter the dungeon.
Do not read the displayed GS or item-level gate as proof that the run will be comfortable. A build can meet the entry number and still fail a DPS check, take too much damage, or struggle with a boss mechanic. Skill levels, board choices, enhancement, Arcana, Stigmas and your actual stat lines all matter after the queue lets you in.

Set Up Your Daily and Weekly Routine
One-time catch-up should get smaller every week. Repeatable content does the opposite: it becomes the routine that keeps gear, currencies, Arcana, Stigmas and PvP resources moving.
- Duty Tasks and Command Scrolls: daily and weekly quest resources.
- Shugo Festival: recurring keys, shop currency and resource choices.
- Abyss: AP and PvP shop progress.
- Ascension Trials: weekly solo entries and their reward track.
- Nightmare: stored solo attempts and shop currency.
- Expeditions and Transcendence: repeatable gear, Arcana and dungeon materials.
The reset rules, storage caps and a short-session route are already separated in the AION 2 daily and weekly checklist. Use that page once your post-45 one-time map work is under control.
What About the Other Faction Map?
Spacetime Rifts let Elyos and Asmodians enter the opposing faction’s region during active Rift windows. The enemy map can contain eligible Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds, Rift quests and PvP objectives, but it should not be treated as a second identical copy of your home progression route.
On current Global reward tables, enemy-side Sealed Dungeons do not give the home-side Wisdom Stones and Daevanion Crystals, and enemy Strongholds do not give the same Noble Belt Enhance Scroll package. Their rewards lean toward AP, Kina, Enhance Stones and Rift objectives instead. Regional Quest rewards are also tied to your own faction route rather than being a second green-quest set to collect across the Rift.
That makes the enemy map a later branch, not the first thing a fresh 45 has to clear. Go when the Rift is open and the rewards match your goal. Expect PvP risk and hostile territory rules, and check the live client before planning a long route because Rift availability and server pairing can change.
For most new level-45 characters, the clean route is: claim the permanent home-side power you skipped, spend those resources, fix the belt and amulet when the next upgrades are close, then move into Expeditions and the daily/weekly loop. The map is a toolbox, not a 100% checklist.
