Holy Priest is a reactive healer built around Renew, direct heals, Prayer of Healing, and choosing the right spell for each damage pattern. WoW Forever expands that toolkit with Binding Heal, Litany of Light, and Prayer of Mending, giving Holy more ways to handle damage across multiple players while rewarding efficient spell selection. The current beta supports early dungeon healing, while complete PvE and PvP builds remain level-60 theorycraft.
Holy Priest at a Glance
Quick choices for starting a Holy Priest in the current WoW Forever beta.
Best Holy Priest Talent Builds in WoW Forever
Holy Priest changes significantly as more talent rows become available. At level 20, much of your solo efficiency still comes from Wand Specialization and Spirit Tap, while the first Holy points improve Renew and reduce cast interruption. Deeper builds add Binding Heal, Litany of Light, Spiritual Guidance, Spiritual Healing, and Prayer of Mending.
Holy Priest Leveling Build
Build status: Recommended Starter Build. At the current level-20 beta cap, use 2/4/5 with 2/2 Wand Specialization, 3/3 Twilight Focus, 1/3 Improved Renew, and 5/5 Spirit Tap.
Wand Specialization gives you a Mana-free way to finish enemies, while Spirit Tap improves recovery after each kill. Twilight Focus helps your casts continue when enemies hit you, which matters for both solo Smite casts and emergency healing. Improved Renew starts strengthening the spell Holy uses constantly while moving or covering steady damage.
Holy can level solo, but it is much more comfortable when you regularly heal dungeons or quest with other players. For pure solo speed, Shadow remains the easier Priest route during the current beta. If you want to stay Holy, use spells to establish the fight and finish weaker targets with a wand instead of spending Mana on every final hit.
Choose any WoW Forever leveling range up to 60 and skip part of the questing and travel grind.

Priest Shadow Magic talent build — Discipline 2, Holy 4, Shadow Magic 5.
2 / 4 / 5 Key talents: Spirit Tap 5/5, Twilight Focus 3/3, Wand Specialization 2/2, Improved Renew 1/3Holy Priest PvE Build
Build status: Community Build, Level 60 theorycraft. The current 18/33/0 raid-healing direction reaches Prayer of Mending while using Discipline for Mana management, stronger shields, and Inner Focus.
Holy takes Improved Renew, Holy Specialization, Divine Fury, Holy Nova, Inspiration, Improved Healing, Binding Heal, Litany of Light, Spirit of Redemption, Spiritual Guidance, Spiritual Healing, and Prayer of Mending. Discipline adds Twin Disciplines, Silent Resolve, Improved Power Word: Shield, Mental Agility, Inner Focus, Meditation, and Mental Strength.
The build is designed for varied incoming damage. Renew and Heal cover steady tank damage, Greater Heal answers larger predictable hits, Prayer of Healing covers group-wide damage, Binding Heal helps when the Priest is hurt too, and Prayer of Mending follows damage across nearby players.
Litany of Light makes alternating those spells more efficient, so the build rewards choosing the correct heal instead of repeating one spell throughout the entire fight.

Build status: Community Build, PvP-oriented Level 60 theorycraft. The PvP setup also uses 18/33/0, but the talent distribution is completely different from the raid build.
Holy takes Twilight Focus, Spell Warding, Divine Fury, Holy Nova, Blessed Recovery, Improved Healing, Binding Heal, Litany of Light, Spirit of Redemption, Spiritual Guidance, Spiritual Healing, and Prayer of Mending. Discipline adds Improved Power Word: Shield, Martyrdom, Mental Agility, Inner Focus, Soul Warding, and defensive Mana talents.
The goal is to continue healing while enemy players are actively attacking you. Twilight Focus reduces cast interruption, Spell Warding reduces spell damage, Blessed Recovery restores health after large hits, and Binding Heal lets you recover yourself while still healing a teammate.

Holy currently has several distinct theorycraft directions because the same tree can support raid healing, battleground healing, or a Smite-based leveling setup. These are useful testing paths, not confirmed level-60 rankings.
| Build | Split | Main Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Raid Holy | 18/33/0 | Uses Prayer of Mending, Litany of Light, Spiritual Guidance, Inspiration, and Discipline Mana support. |
| PvP Holy | 18/33/0 | Uses the same tree split but moves points into Twilight Focus, Spell Warding, Blessed Recovery, Martyrdom, and Soul Warding. |
| Smite Leveling | 20/26/5 | Uses Divine Fury, Searing Light, Spiritual Guidance, Power in Light, Holy Precision, and Spirit Tap for Holy damage while remaining able to heal dungeons. |
Best Race for Holy Priest in WoW Forever
Fear Ward is baseline for every Priest in Forever, so Dwarf is no longer automatically chosen around that one racial spell. Current guides instead give more weight to Mana, healing throughput, control, and Priest-specific racials.
| Goal | Alliance Picks | Horde Picks | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| PvE Healing | Gnome, Human | Troll, Undead | Gnome brings Mana and Eureka!, Troll has Berserking for faster casts, while Human and Undead provide useful sustain and utility. |
| PvP | Gnome, Human | Undead, Troll | Root immunity, stun removal, Fear control, self-recovery, and casting speed all help a healer stay active under pressure. |
| Leveling | Gnome, Human | Undead, Troll | Mana efficiency, Spirit, recovery, and offensive cooldowns all reduce downtime between pulls. |
Gnome is the clearest Alliance recommendation during the current beta. Expansive Mind adds maximum Mana, Eureka! improves the next several abilities, and Priest-specific racials add another layer of utility. On Horde, Troll is attractive for healing throughput through Berserking, while Undead has stronger sustain and PvP control tools.
Best Professions for Holy Priest in WoW Forever
| Goal | Professions | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling / Self-Supply | Tailoring + Enchanting | Tailoring supports cloth gear and early wand access, while Enchanting provides useful caster upgrades. |
| Consumables | Alchemy + Herbalism | Provides your own Mana Potions, healing consumables, and other supplies for dungeon and raid healing. |
| PvP | Engineering + Mining | Engineering adds control, defensive tools, and utility that can create time for another healing cast. |
A good wand remains useful even for a dedicated healer because it lets you contribute damage during safe downtime without spending Mana. This makes Tailoring particularly convenient early if you can craft or otherwise obtain useful wand upgrades.
Holy Priest Stat Priority in WoW Forever
For the current beta, use Item Level > Healing Power > Mp5 > Spirit > Intellect > Stamina > Critical Strike as a practical leveling and dungeon-healing priority.
Healing Power improves each healing cast, which can indirectly save Mana by reducing the number of spells required. Mp5 continues regenerating Mana even while normal Spirit regeneration is limited by the five-second rule. Spirit supports regeneration outside that window, while Intellect increases your Mana pool and provides some spell Critical Strike value.
At deeper Holy investment, Spirit becomes even more important through Spiritual Guidance, which converts part of your Spirit into spell power and healing power. Critical Strike also gains more value when Inspiration becomes available. Final raid stat weights still need level-60 testing.
What Gear Should Holy Priest Use in WoW Forever?
While leveling, prioritize useful caster cloth and keep your wand updated. For healing gear, compare Healing Power, Mp5, Spirit, Intellect, and Crit rather than choosing an item only because it has a higher armor value.
A one-handed caster weapon with an off-hand can provide a strong collection of healing stats, while a staff may concentrate more of those stats into one item. There is no universal winner, so compare the actual pieces available to you.
There is no reliable Forever Pre-BiS list yet. Dungeon loot, raid drops, and final itemization are still being discovered, so old Classic Holy Priest lists should not be copied directly.
Holy Priest Healing Rotation and Spell Priority
Holy Priest does not have one fixed healing rotation. The spec works by matching the spell to the damage pattern while avoiding unnecessary overhealing. The most Mana-efficient answer is usually the smallest spell that safely keeps the target alive.
How Holy Priest Healing Works
Use this as the current beta healing framework. Deeper builds add Binding Heal, Litany of Light, and Prayer of Mending without replacing the core direct-heal toolkit.
At level 60, Prayer of Mending should become one of Holy’s main answers to repeated group damage. Binding Heal becomes efficient when both you and another player are hurt, while Prayer of Healing remains the direct answer when several party members need healing at the same time.
How Litany of Light Changes Holy Priest Mana Management
Litany of Light rewards Holy Priest for doing what a good reactive healer already wants to do: use different spells for different damage patterns. At full rank, casting a healing spell restores Mana equal to 20% of that spell’s base cost if your previous heal was a different spell.
This means a sequence such as Renew → Heal → Binding Heal → Prayer of Mending can receive repeated Litany value, while casting Heal over and over does not. The point is not to rotate spells blindly. If somebody needs an emergency Flash Heal twice, keeping them alive matters more than forcing a Mana refund.
Binding Heal makes this system easier to use because it fills a healing pattern that Holy did not previously cover well. When both the Priest and another player are injured, one low-threat cast heals both targets. That gives you another distinct spell to weave into Litany without wasting healing.
Prayer of Mending covers another problem: repeated damage moving through a party or raid. The spell sits on one player until they take damage or receive non-periodic healing, then heals and jumps to another nearby player. Current Forever data allows up to five jumps within 20 yards.
Together, Litany of Light, Binding Heal, and Prayer of Mending push Holy away from repeating one efficient heal and toward a wider toolkit. That is one of the clearest design differences between Holy Priest in Forever and its original Classic version.
Best Legacy Talents for Holy Priest
Well Rested and Talented remain useful leveling choices. Well Rested improves rested experience, while Talented moves talent access earlier without changing the final 51-point talent limit.
Thrill of Adventure helps solo Priest leveling by improving recovery after non-trivial kills. Bountiful Harvest supports gathering professions, while For Great Honor becomes useful if battleground healing will be a major part of your endgame play.
What Changed for Holy Priest in WoW Forever?
Holy receives three major new talents that strengthen its reactive and multi-target healing identity. Binding Heal heals the Priest and another player together, Litany of Light rewards alternating healing spells, and Prayer of Mending follows incoming damage across nearby party or raid members.
Existing Holy talents also fit the new package. Spiritual Guidance makes Spirit useful for healing power, Spiritual Healing increases overall healing, Inspiration rewards critical direct heals, and Divine Fury reduces cast times on several important Holy spells.
Fear Ward is now baseline for every Priest rather than a Dwarf-only racial spell. That removes one of the largest restrictions on Priest race selection from original Classic.
Key New and Reworked Holy Priest Talents
| Talent | What It Changes | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Binding Heal | Heals a friendly target and the Priest at the same time with low threat. | Holy gains an efficient answer when group damage hits the healer and another player together. |
| Litany of Light | Returns Mana when the healing spell you cast is different from your previous heal. | Spell selection becomes part of Holy’s Mana management instead of only its healing throughput. |
| Prayer of Mending | Places an instant heal on one target that triggers and jumps between nearby players as damage or direct healing occurs. | Holy gains a strong tool for repeated multi-target damage without hard-casting every individual heal. |
| Spiritual Guidance | Converts part of your Spirit into spell power and healing power. | Spirit becomes both a Mana sustain stat and a direct throughput stat for deeper Holy builds. |
These mechanics are present in current Forever beta data. Final Mana efficiency, downranking breakpoints, Prayer of Mending behavior, and level-60 raid stat weights still need live endgame testing.
