Restoration Druid in WoW Forever is a healing specialization built around proactive Heal-over-Time effects, efficient Mana management, strong single-target recovery, and the ability to stabilize groups before incoming damage turns into an emergency. Forever keeps the familiar Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Healing Touch, Innervate, Rebirth, and Tranquility toolkit while adding or redesigning several important systems, including Wild Growth, Revive, baseline Omen of Clarity, Reflection, Gift of the Earthmother, and an earlier version of Swiftmend.
The current WoW Forever beta is capped at level 20, so the specialization does not yet have its full level-60 healing toolkit. Wild Growth, deeper Restoration talents, and many endgame interactions belong to later leveling or level-60 theorycraft. At the current cap, however, Restoration already heals dungeons comfortably through Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Healing Touch, smart five-second-rule Mana windows, and Clearcasting.
There is also an important current-beta warning for returning Druid players: WoW Forever Restoration does not currently include Tree of Life form, Lifebloom, Nourish, or Efflorescence. Older expansion habits and stray database records should therefore not be assumed to describe the actual Forever Restoration toolkit.
Restoration Druid at a Glance
Leveling a Restoration Druid in WoW Forever
Restoration is already a capable dungeon healer at level 20, but efficient play is less about spamming heals and more about letting Rejuvenation and Regrowth tick while your Mana regeneration resumes. Many early talents also support damage, so a healer can still quest without committing to a purely passive leveling setup.
- Use Rejuvenation and Regrowth proactively, then stop casting when no immediate healing is required.
- Use Omen of Clarity procs on expensive heals and contribute Moonfire or Wrath only when Mana is comfortable.
- Build around dungeon healing, solo damage, or a hybrid of both depending on how you actually level.
- Choose the exact target level you want, up to level 60.
- Skip repeated questing, travel, and dungeon routing.
- Return to the character at the level range you need for your next goal.
Best Restoration Druid Talent Builds in WoW Forever
Best Level 20 Restoration Druid Build — The Reflective
For dedicated dungeon healing at the current beta cap, one of the strongest approaches is to spend your early points entirely in Restoration and reach the first rank of Reflection. This build does not try to maximize theoretical Healing-per-Second at all times. Instead, it improves casting stability, Healing Touch throughput, and the Mana regeneration that lets you continue healing through difficult pulls.
| Talent | Points | Why Take It? |
|---|---|---|
| Nature’s Focus | 5/5 | Reduces spell pushback from incoming damage, making heals significantly safer when dungeon mobs reach you or unavoidable damage is occurring. |
| Naturalist | 5/5 | Reduces Healing Touch cast time by 0.5 sec and also increases all damage you deal, making it useful for both dungeon healing and solo leveling. |
| Reflection | 1/3 | The first rank allows 17% of normal Mana regeneration to continue while casting, which is already meaningful during extended dungeon pulls. |
- ★ A new talent introduced with WoW Forever.
- ★ A talent that has been modified compared to Classic.
Druid Restoration talent build — Balance 0, Feral Combat 0, Restoration 11.
0 / 0 / 11 Key talents: Naturalist 5/5, Nature's Focus 5/5, Reflection 1/3This is the safer recommendation when your main objective is healing dungeons. Restoration at level 20 is already efficient enough that your goal should be to preserve that efficiency rather than constantly casting because a health bar is missing a small amount.
The Splendid — Level 20 Hybrid Alternative
The other important current-cap approach is a Balance-heavy build that works toward Nature’s Splendor.
Nature’s Splendor extends:
- Rejuvenation by 3 sec;
- Regrowth by 6 sec;
- Moonfire by 3 sec;
- Insect Swarm by 2 sec once it is available.
The result is a hybrid character that gives up some dedicated Restoration Mana support in exchange for longer HoTs and stronger solo damage talents. This is especially useful if you alternate between healing dungeons and questing alone.
The filler Balance points are flexible. Genesis directly improves periodic healing, while Improved Wrath, Improved Moonfire, Nature’s Reach, and Moonglow primarily improve the damage side of the hybrid setup. Do not assume Moonglow is still a Restoration Mana talent simply because it was valuable to healers in older versions of WoW.
Legacy Talent Points and Swiftmend at Level 20
If your Legacy progression gives you enough early class talent points to reach 15 points spent in Restoration, Swiftmend becomes available much earlier than it normally would.
This is a major breakpoint because Swiftmend provides instant emergency healing based on an existing Rejuvenation or Regrowth. Current Forever talent wording no longer includes the Classic requirement to consume that HoT, and current beta guidance treats the HoT as remaining after Swiftmend.
Choose any WoW Forever leveling range up to 60 and skip the quest, travel, and dungeon grind while keeping control of your target level.
Level 60 Restoration Druid PvE Build — Current Theorycraft
This is a current-client theorycraft framework, not a solved raid build. Level-60 raid logs, final itemization, encounter damage patterns, and healing compositions do not exist yet.
A particularly interesting current framework is 5/5/41. It keeps the full Restoration healing package, takes 5/5 Genesis for stronger periodic healing, and invests 5/5 into Heart of the Wild for a substantially larger Intellect pool.
- ★ A new talent introduced with WoW Forever.
- ★ A talent that has been modified compared to Classic.
Druid Restoration talent build — Balance 5, Feral Combat 5, Restoration 41.
5 / 5 / 41 Key talents: Wild Growth, Nature's Swiftness, Swiftmend, Improved Regrowth 5/5, Gift of Nature 5/5, Naturalist 5/5| Talent | Role in the Build |
|---|---|
| Genesis | At 5/5, increases periodic healing by 5%, directly supporting Rejuvenation, Regrowth’s HoT, and Wild Growth. |
| Heart of the Wild | The redesigned first-tier Feral talent increases Intellect by up to 20%, giving Restoration a surprisingly attractive five-point off-tree investment. |
| Nature’s Focus | Protects casts from pushback during incoming damage. |
| Naturalist | Shortens Healing Touch and provides additional damage when you have safe downtime to contribute DPS. |
| Subtlety | Reduces threat generated by Nature and Arcane spells, helping during heavy healing phases and large dungeon pulls. |
| Reflection | At 3/3, allows 50% of normal Mana regeneration to continue while casting, making Spirit substantially more useful. |
| Gift of Nature | At 5/5, increases the effect of all healing spells by 10%. |
| Gift of the Earthmother | Reduces the GCD of Rejuvenation, Swiftmend, and Wild Growth by 0.5 sec, enabling much faster HoT coverage during high group damage. |
| Tranquil Spirit | Reduces the Mana cost of Healing Touch and Tranquility. |
| Improved Rejuvenation | At 3/3, increases Rejuvenation healing by 15%. |
| Swiftmend | Provides an instant single-target recovery button using an active Rejuvenation or Regrowth. |
| Nature’s Swiftness | Makes your next eligible Nature spell instant, giving Restoration an emergency Healing Touch or other utility cast. |
| Living Spirit | Increases Spirit by 15% and combines naturally with Reflection’s in-cast regeneration. |
| Improved Tranquility | Reduces Tranquility’s cooldown and removes its threat, turning it into a much more practical dungeon and raid recovery cooldown. |
| Improved Regrowth | At maximum rank, substantially increases Regrowth Crit chance and supports a direct-healing / Nature’s Grace alternative playstyle. |
| Wild Growth | The deep Restoration capstone heals the selected target and that target’s party over 7 sec on a 6-second cooldown. |
Why 5/5 Heart of the Wild Is Worth Watching
This is one of the most interesting current-client Restoration theorycraft questions.
Older Restoration builds commonly invest Balance points into Moonglow for healing Mana efficiency. Current Forever data changes that relationship: Moonglow now specifically reduces the Mana cost of damaging spells, while Heart of the Wild has moved to the first Feral tier and can increase Intellect by 20%.
That makes Heart of the Wild a much more serious healer off-tree candidate than its old Classic position would suggest.
The trade-off is straightforward:
- Genesis improves your HoTs directly;
- Heart of the Wild increases your total Mana pool through Intellect;
- deeper Restoration provides throughput, regeneration, and healing cooldowns;
- old Moonglow-based healing builds should not automatically be imported from Vanilla.
Level 60 Restoration Druid PvP Build — Theorycraft
A current community PvP framework is 0/20/31. It keeps the core Restoration toolkit through Wild Growth while investing heavily into Feral mobility and durability.
- ★ A new talent introduced with WoW Forever.
- ★ A talent that has been modified compared to Classic.
Druid Restoration talent build — Balance 0, Feral Combat 20, Restoration 31.
0 / 20 / 31 Key talents: Wild Growth, Nature's Swiftness, Swiftmend, Improved Regrowth 5/5, Naturalist 5/5, Nature's Focus 5/5This type of build is aimed at battleground healing and flag carrying rather than stationary raid throughput. Heart of the Wild improves form-based survivability, Feral Swiftness adds Cat mobility, Thick Hide improves armor, and Feral Charge adds another movement/control tool.
In actual PvP, do not remain in caster form simply because you are a healer. Restoration’s strength comes from moving between healing, Cat or Travel Form mobility, Bear durability, Entangling Roots, and instant HoTs.

Best Race for Restoration Druid in WoW Forever
Restoration has meaningful racial choices, particularly because Mana regeneration, Crit-based Regrowth windows, and healer survivability all have direct gameplay value.
| Race | Why It Works | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Night Elf | Elune’s Light provides a 10% Crit window that can pair especially well with Improved Regrowth during emergency healing. | Alliance throughput |
| High Order Skyborne | Read Ley Line provides powerful recovery and becomes particularly interesting when combined with Spirit and Reflection. | Alliance Mana sustain |
| Tauren | Extra durability and War Stomp give practical defensive value when enemies reach the healer. The Hit component of Endurance can also help if you contribute offensive utility such as Faerie Fire. | Horde survivability |
| Windshaper Skyborne | Wind Blessed adds passive Haste, while Skyborne mobility tools can help a healer reposition without sacrificing as much uptime. | Horde mobility |
Current direction: Night Elf has a strong burst-healing racial package, while High Order Skyborne has particularly attractive Mana synergy. Tauren remains a durable Horde option. All racial conclusions remain beta-sensitive.
Best Professions for Restoration Druid in WoW Forever
Profession balance is not fully solved, but Restoration benefits from several combinations with obvious healer value.
| Profession Setup | Why It Fits Restoration |
|---|---|
| Engineering + Alchemy | Engineering provides encounter utility and mobility tools, while Alchemy’s Mixology improves elixir and flask effects and supports a healer’s heavy consumable usage. |
| Engineering + Enchanting | Combines combat utility with personal ring enchants and caster-oriented item enhancements. |
| Leatherworking + Enchanting | A natural armor-type progression path that also provides personal enchanting benefits. |
| Tailoring + Enchanting | Can provide strong caster/healing gear and embroidery options even though Druids normally prefer leather once comparable pieces exist. |
| Herbalism + Alchemy | An inexpensive, self-sufficient route for players who expect to use large quantities of Mana and healing consumables. |
Do not permanently lock in a profession combination purely from beta theorycraft. Endgame recipes and raid encounter requirements can still change their relative value.
Restoration Druid Stat Priority and Gear
Level 20 Stat Priority
A practical current-beta priority is:
Healing Power / Spell Power > Spirit > Intellect > Critical Strike > Stamina
- Healing Power: dramatically improves the value of efficient lower-rank heals. Current level-20 testing specifically highlights the effectiveness of lower-rank Healing Touch once enough Healing Power is available.
- Spirit: improves natural Mana regeneration and becomes more valuable once Reflection allows part of that regeneration to continue while casting.
- Intellect: increases your Mana pool and gives more room before drinking or using a regeneration cooldown.
- Critical Strike: becomes more attractive with Regrowth-focused talent setups and later interactions such as Improved Regrowth.
- Stamina: helps you survive mechanics and accidental aggro but normally comes after healer throughput and Mana stats.
Why Lower-Rank Healing Touch Matters
One of the most useful current level-20 observations is that you do not always need the highest available Healing Touch rank.
With enough Healing Power, a lower-rank heal can cover predictable damage for much less Mana. That creates a three-way choice:
- use a HoT when time is available;
- use a lower Healing Touch rank for efficient controlled recovery;
- use the maximum rank when the target genuinely needs the full heal.
This is much more efficient than treating every missing point of Health as a reason to cast your largest heal.
Level 60 Stat Priority — Provisional
A sensible starting framework is:
Healing Power > Spirit / Mana regeneration > Intellect > Critical Strike > Stamina
The exact ordering will depend on encounter length and final gear. Reflection and Living Spirit increase the value of Spirit, while Improved Regrowth gives Crit a more meaningful throughput interaction than it has in a purely Healing Touch-oriented setup.
Restoration Druid Healing Rotation in WoW Forever
Level 20 Dungeon Healing Priority
- Keep Rejuvenation active on the tank when sustained incoming damage makes the full HoT useful.
- Wait when nobody needs healing. Do not cast merely because your global cooldown is available.
- Allow existing Rejuvenation and Regrowth ticks to restore safe damage.
- When the tank needs a faster direct heal, use the level-appropriate Regrowth.
- If Regrowth’s HoT is already active and the target needs another direct heal, use Healing Touch.
- When safe, move into melee range and auto-attack to create additional opportunities for Omen of Clarity.
- Spend Clearcasting on a high-value Regrowth or Healing Touch rather than a cheap heal.
- Give damaged DPS an efficient HoT instead of immediately spending a large direct heal unless they are actually in danger.
- When Mana is comfortable and healing demand is low, contribute Moonfire and Wrath damage.
The Most Important Level 20 Button: Stop Casting
This deserves to be explicit because it is one of the biggest differences between efficient and inefficient Restoration play.
Once enough time passes after spending Mana, your normal Mana regeneration resumes. Rejuvenation and Regrowth continue healing during that period.
That means an existing HoT can simultaneously:
- heal the tank;
- prevent you from needing another spell;
- create time for Mana regeneration;
- reduce how often you drink between dungeon pulls.
Casting an unnecessary heal during that window can therefore cost considerably more than its tooltip Mana cost suggests.
Level 60 PvE Healing Priority — Current Theorycraft
- Maintain Rejuvenation on tanks and players expected to take sustained damage.
- Use Wild Growth on a party taking meaningful group damage.
- Use Regrowth when both its direct heal and long HoT can deliver value.
- Use Swiftmend for immediate recovery on a target already carrying Rejuvenation or Regrowth.
- Use Healing Touch as the large efficient direct heal when the target can safely wait for the cast.
- Use Nature’s Swiftness with an appropriate Nature heal when somebody cannot wait for a normal cast.
- Use Tranquility for heavy party-wide damage, especially when Improved Tranquility is talented.
- Use Innervate before Mana becomes an emergency, whether on yourself or another healer who will convert it into more useful healing.
- Use Rebirth according to the raid’s recovery plan rather than reactively resurrecting the first dead player.
How to Target Wild Growth
Wild Growth does not simply search the entire raid for injured players.
It heals:
- the target;
- members of that target’s party;
- only those party members within the spell’s range requirement.
That means raid group organization becomes part of Restoration gameplay. Casting Wild Growth on a player from the wrong party can heal far fewer useful targets than casting it on someone standing inside the damaged group you actually want to cover.
How Restoration Druid's Mana-Efficient Healing Loop Works
Forever Restoration rewards restraint. HoTs buy time, and that time is valuable because not casting lets normal Mana regeneration resume. The goal is to cover expected damage early, avoid unnecessary direct heals, and spend expensive casts only when they will deliver their full value.
Advanced Restoration Druid Mechanics You Should Know
1. Doing Nothing Is Part of the Rotation
This is probably the most valuable level-20 Restoration technique that a generic healing guide can miss.
Your HoTs continue healing while you are not casting. After enough time without spending Mana, normal Mana regeneration resumes.
The optimal sequence is therefore often:
- apply enough healing to make the group safe;
- stop casting;
- let the HoT ticks work;
- regenerate Mana;
- cast again only when the next heal will deliver meaningful value.
This means overhealing is not only wasted healing — it can also interrupt a regeneration window that would have reduced downtime after the pull.
2. Clearcasting Can Preserve Your Five-Second-Rule Window
Omen of Clarity is baseline in Forever and can trigger from attacks and spell casts.
Current level-20 testing highlights a particularly useful healer interaction: a free spell cast through Clearcasting does not restart the normal Mana-spending timer in the same way as paying Mana for the spell.
This creates a powerful loop:
- stop normal Mana spending;
- allow regeneration to begin;
- generate or receive Clearcasting;
- cast a high-value free heal;
- continue benefiting from the regeneration window.
When safe, melee auto-attacks between healing casts can also create additional Omen opportunities.
3. Swiftmend Rewards Longer HoTs
Forever moves Swiftmend much earlier in the Restoration tree.
The current talent calculates its heal from the full periodic duration of an active Rejuvenation or Regrowth instead of simply being a generic fixed instant heal.
That creates direct synergy with Nature’s Splendor:
- longer Rejuvenation means more sustained healing;
- longer Regrowth means more sustained healing;
- the extended HoT also improves the amount of periodic healing represented in Swiftmend’s calculation.
This is why Nature’s Splendor is a real Restoration mechanic even though it sits inside the Balance tree.
4. Wild Growth Is Party-Locked — Target Selection Matters
Later-expansion muscle memory can make Wild Growth look like a generic “heal several nearby raid members” spell.
The Forever version is more specific. It heals the selected target and members of that target’s party.
In a raid, that means the difference between an excellent and poor Wild Growth cast can simply be which player you clicked before pressing the spell.
A raid that deliberately groups players by incoming damage pattern can also make Restoration more effective by giving Wild Growth cleaner party targets.
5. Moonglow Is an Old-Resto Knowledge Trap
Classic Restoration players are accustomed to Moonglow reducing the cost of important healing spells.
That assumption is dangerous in the current Forever beta.
The current Moonglow tooltip reduces the Mana cost of damaging spells. Restoration’s important Mana tools instead include:
- Reflection;
- Living Spirit;
- Innervate;
- the five-second-rule windows created by efficient HoT usage;
- Clearcasting through Omen of Clarity.
If a Forever Restoration guide tells you to take Moonglow specifically because it reduces Healing Touch, Regrowth, or Rejuvenation Mana costs, verify the date of that guide before using the build.
6. There Is No Current Tree of Life Healing Form
This is another database and search-result trap.
Searching old Druid spell data can surface a spell called Tree Form, but the current WoW Forever Restoration overview explicitly lists Tree of Life form as absent from the Restoration toolkit.
The same warning applies to:
- Lifebloom;
- Nourish;
- Efflorescence.
Do not build a level-60 Restoration rotation around those spells unless a future beta patch actually adds them.
7. Regrowth Crit Builds Have a Real Alternative Path
Forever’s redesigned Nature’s Grace gives 10% spellcasting speed and global-cooldown reduction for 3 sec after a non-periodic spell Crit.
Combined with Improved Regrowth’s large Crit bonus, this creates a possible alternative healing style where Regrowth Crits repeatedly activate short casting-speed windows.
The downside is opportunity cost: reaching Nature’s Grace requires Balance investment that competes with deep Restoration and Wild Growth points.
This should therefore be treated as an experimental build path until level-60 raid testing shows whether its throughput can beat the safer Wild Growth setup.
What Changed for Restoration Druid in WoW Forever?
| Change | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Wild Growth added | Restoration gains frequent multi-target HoT healing, but the spell is party-based rather than a completely free raid-wide smart heal. |
| Revive added | Druids finally gain a normal out-of-combat resurrection rather than depending entirely on Rebirth. |
| Omen of Clarity baseline | Clearcasting becomes part of normal healer Mana management without requiring a Restoration talent investment. |
| Reflection dramatically strengthened | It now reaches 50% Mana regeneration while casting at maximum rank rather than the much weaker Classic value. |
| Gift of the Earthmother added | Rejuvenation, Swiftmend, and Wild Growth can operate on a 1-second global cooldown, enabling much faster coverage. |
| Swiftmend moved earlier | The spec gains instant single-target recovery much earlier than in the original Classic tree. |
| Gift of Nature moved earlier | The universal healing multiplier is available to more Restoration builds. |
| Living Spirit added | Spirit gains additional scaling and combines strongly with Reflection. |
| Improved Tranquility upgraded | Tranquility becomes a much more frequently available party recovery cooldown. |
| Regrowth cheaper and mechanically improved | The spell is more practical as part direct heal and part long HoT, with current beta testing also showing Crit-related interactions that remain tuning-sensitive. |
| Thorns scales with Spell Power | Keeping Thorns active on a dungeon tank now converts healer gear into additional passive group damage. |
| Moonglow no longer functions as the old Restoration Mana talent | Old Vanilla Moonglow-healer builds cannot be copied blindly into Forever. |
| No Tree of Life, Lifebloom, Nourish, or Efflorescence | The current Restoration identity remains centered on classic direct heals and HoTs plus Swiftmend and Wild Growth rather than later-expansion Tree gameplay. |
Best Legacy Perks for Restoration Druid
Legacy progression can be especially valuable to healers because early talent access changes which dungeon-healing tools are available at a given character level.
| Legacy Perk | Why Restoration Likes It |
|---|---|
| Talented | Lets important Restoration breakpoints arrive earlier and can accelerate access to Swiftmend while leveling. |
| Thrill of Adventure | Open-world Health and Mana recovery reduces downtime when questing as a healing-oriented build. |
| Well Rested | Useful for healer alts that are leveled through shorter sessions and dungeon bursts. |
| High Alert | A situational open-world PvP option that can help a vulnerable healer detect stealthed opponents sooner. |
Legacy changes how quickly talent points become available while leveling, but it does not increase the normal level-60 class-talent maximum beyond 51.
