With The Final Shape, Bungie shifted the meta toward ability-focused combat. Edge of Fate built on that direction, pulling Hunters even deeper into synergy-driven gameplay. Today, your main source of damage isn’t just weapons — it’s the constant loop of abilities powered by fragments, aspects, exotic armor, and mods. And in this system, Hunters outshine any other class: insane DPS and fast ad-clearing abilities do the job. In this article, we’ll cover the builds that will put a smile on every Hunter main, cause they ROCK!
We all know the frustration that comes with choosing builds for your favorite character. Maybe you lack the knowledge or time to put together a well-constructed setup on your own. Maybe you’re tired of your current one and you want a smell of a brand-new build that will blow your mind with the number of kills you will see on your screen. These are the best all-around Hunter builds right now, each tested for consistency, survivability, and raw damage output!
Best Stasis Hunter Build in Edge of Fate (Mask of Fealty)
This is a Stasis Hunter that chains blades → crystals → shards → blades on repeat. With Mask of Fealty amplifying Withering Blade, you freeze entire rooms, shatter them, and chill with damage resistance while your melee and dodge keep charging.
Setup
Exotic Armor – Mask of Fealty
Super – Silence & Squall
Grenade – Coldsnap Grenade (fast freezes for shards/crystals)
Melee – Withering Blade
Class Ability – Gambler’s Dodge (quick melee top-ups; see loop)
120 Melee (to overweight Whisper of Hunger penalty), 100 Class, 100 Grenade, others are flexible
Armor Mods
Helmet – Harmonic Siphon, Special Ammo Finder, Dynamo
Arms – Bolstering Detonation, Focusing Strike, Momentum Transfer
Chest – 2x Resist mods, Charged Up
Legs – Better Already, Elemental Charge, Stacks on Stacks
Class Item – Powerful Attraction, Utility Kickstart, Reaper
Gameplay Loop
Coldsnap to freeze and seed crystals
Throw Withering Blade to spawn crystals and refund melee
Shatter targets and crystals → Mask of Fealty spawns extra blades
Dodge inside enemies / Winter Shroud slow field → big class regen
Collect shards for melee energy and Frost Armor stacks
Continue the crystal → shatter → shard cycle. Drop Coldsnap to freeze more targets
Meanwhile, use Saraphene Haze’s Crystalline Corpsebloom to get more crystals
Why It’s Effective
This build serves as a nonstop shards farm for your Hunter. Everything you need for that dopamine rush is right there: stunned enemies, ricocheting blades, and blowing crystals! Also, you stay alive with Frost Armor stacks from the multikills you get every 5 seconds. I’d recommend experimenting with the heavy weapons to destroy crystals as easily as possible (perhaps the sword would be the best choice for one-shotting them). You can also create another variant of this build that favors Touch of Winter for longer Coldsnap chains. Swap Winter Shroud → Touch of Winter and focus on grenades. You’ll lose the slow/dodge regen combo but gain nastier seeker spreads!
Best Arc Hunter Build in Edge of Fate (Gifted Conviction)
This Arc Hunter build abuses the new interaction between Combination Blow and Tempest Strike. In Edge of Fate, Tempest Strike fully benefits from Combination Blow — meaning kills with it refund dodge and boost melee damage. Pair it with Ascension, and you unlock an infinite loop of dodges and melees.
Setup
Exotic Armor – Gifted Conviction (works well with Ascension + Tempest Strike, adds jolts and damage resistance)
Delicate Tomb (for ionic traces)/Trinity Ghoul/Monte Carlo/Centrifuge + Voltshot/Jolting Feedback and Attrition Orbs rolls (Strategist and Pugilist rolls are good too for extra dodge and melee energy)
Stats
100+ Class, then push Melee as close to 200 as possible, Grenade to 100, rest into Super
Armor Mods
Helmet – Harmonic Siphon, Special Ammo Finder, Hands-On
Arms – 3x Focusing Strike
Chest – 3x Resist mods
Legs – 2x Arc Weapon Surge, Recuperation
Class Item – Class Font, Outreach, Reaper
Gameplay
Use Tempest Strike to kill close-range targets
Follow it with Ascension
Alternate endlessly between dodge and Tempest Strike
Gifted Conviction keeps you safe with damage resistance and jolts
Delicate Tomb kills spawn ionic traces for ability energy
Why It Works
This build makes Hunters unkillable in melee range — 50% Damage Resistance from Gifted Conviction, 25%+ from Fragments, plus restoration from melee, and orb healing. At the same time, you’re combining Tempest Strike slides, Gambler’s Dodge refunds, and grenade jolts. You’re getting easy-refreshable abilities with awesome ad-clearing and high survivability. A fantastic choice for Solo Ops and Fireteam Ops — just try it out!
No matter which subclass you take, these builds cover everything — Nightfalls, dungeons, or just farming Solo Ops for loot. Edge of Fate gave Hunters the freedom to ability spam and survive like no one else. If you haven’t found a build for yourself, we’re going to put one of the best PvE Hunter builds at the moment!
Best Prismatic Hunter Build for Raids + Solo Ops (Inmost Light + Cyrtarachne)
The Inmost Cyrtarachne setup gets a massive buff in Edge of Fate. Ascension now works properly with all class ability mods, finally triggering Spirit of Inmost Light, which creates an unstoppable gameplay loop. If you pair that with the buffed Gunpowder Gamble, you’ve got a build that spams abilities while staying protected with constant Woven Mail.
Loadout
Exotic Armor – Relativism with Spirit of Inmost Light + Spirit of Cyrtarachne
Mint Retrograde + Any Primary Weapon + Finality’s Auger or switch to Tractor Cannon (for boss debuff)
Stats
100+ Super, 100+ Weapons, and push Grenade as high as possible (up to 200 for damage scaling)
Armor Mods
Helmet – Ashes to Assets, Super Font, Siphon (depending on your primary weapon)
Arms – Focusing Strike, Firepower, Grenade Font
Chest – 2x Resist mods, Concussive Dampener
Legs – Invigoration, Recuperation, Stacks on Stacks
Class Item – Class Font, Powerful Attraction, Time Dilation
Gameplay Loop
Grapple for Woven Mail + flinch resistance + health when defeating targets
Pop Ascension (instantly reload weapon + collect orbs)
Throw melee to sever enemies and to proc Radiant, and Spirit of Inmost Light for empowered abilities regen
Charge and throw Gunpowder Gamble for additional damage (counts as grenade, giving Woven Mail)
Cycle Grapple → Ascension → Melee → Gunpowder Gamble to keep everything up
Use Golden Gun to spawn Orbs of Power for your team
With this build, we’re getting high survivability with Cyrtarachne and an awesome ability to clear ads + damage bosses with our infinite abilities spam. We’re tanky with Woven Mail, always empowered with Spirit of Inmost Light, and constantly throwing grenades with fast regen. It’s one of the strongest all-around prismatic builds for hunters in Edge of Fate. Also, you can swap Spirit of Cyrtarachne for Spirit of the Star-Eater to deal more damage with your super in exchange for more damage resistance. That’s totally up to you!
Best Hunter PvP Build for Crucible & Trials (Edge of Fate)
This Solar Hunter setup is one of the craziest in PvP right now. It takes practice, but once you get used to it, you’ll shred lobbies with almost instant kills and the fastest super. Check the build right below and try it out!
Loadout Breakdown
Exotic Armor – Assassin’s Cowl (heals + invis on powered melee kills, perfect for chaining kills and staying alive)
Super – Blade Barrage (extra projectiles, reliable multikill potential)
Class Ability – Gambler’s Dodge (refunds knife on use near enemies)
Aspects – Knock’ Em Down (extra projectiles for Blade Barrage, knives refunded while Radiant), On Your Mark (handling buff + three more fragment slots)
Aureus Neutralizer with Trench Barrel (massive damage, handling, reload buff after melee hit); Phoneutria Fera for the second slot (may be swapped for any shotgun/ SMG — depending on map)
Stats
~120 Melee (sweet spot for combo consistency), 100 Super + 100 Class (fast regen and super uptime), ~150 Health
Armor Mods
Helmet – 2x Hands-On, Kinetic Targeting
Arms – Kinetic Dexterity, Solar Dexterity, Heavy Handed
Chest – 2x Unflinching Kinetic Aim, Unflinching Solar Aim
Legs – 2x Enchanced Athletics, Recuperation
Class Item – 2x Bomber, Reaper
Gameplay Loop
Initiate close-range fights, shoot with Aureus Neutralizer
Throw your Lightweight Knife to proc Trench Barrel
One-shot enemies with your Trench Barrel hand cannon
Dodge for melee energy
Repeat
Blade Barrage comes back insanely fast thanks to double Hands-On. In Trials, you’ll often have your super ready before anyone else.
Why It’s Effective
The Aureus Neutralizer and knife combo allows us to get quick eliminations in one sequence, while Assassin’s Cowl adds healing and invisibility to reset after trades. Hands-On and Reaper mods significantly reduce Blade Barrage’s cooldown, giving more frequent supers. This setup is consistent across different maps and Crucible game modes, but keep in mind that you need to be aggressive. Once you get comfortable with the timing and playstyle, it’ll definitely become your favorite build for PvP!
Conclusion
If you haven’t tried Hunter recently, now’s the time! These builds prove that Hunters aren’t just viable, they’re leading the meta across every activity in the game. Grab one of these setups, tune it to your style, and see why Hunters are the best class in Destiny 2 right now.
