Holy Paladin is a durable healer built around Flash of Light, Holy Light, critical heals, Blessings, and strong defensive utility. WoW Forever keeps its focused single-target healing but adds new answers to old weaknesses, including Mana regeneration while casting, protection against interrupts, and party healing through Light’s Vigil. The current beta supports an early Holy leveling build, while complete PvE and PvP setups remain level-60 theorycraft.
Holy Paladin at a Glance
Quick choices for starting a Holy Paladin in the current WoW Forever beta.
Best Holy Paladin Talent Builds in WoW Forever
Holy Paladin has two different build problems during the beta. The first is staying useful while leveling alone before deeper healing talents unlock. The second is planning around level-60 talents such as Illumination, Holy Power, and Light’s Vigil. The starter build below can be used during the current beta. The PvE and PvP trees remain community theorycraft until endgame testing becomes available.
Holy Paladin Leveling Build
Build status: Beta Starter Build. At the current level-20 cap, use an 11/0/0 Holy setup with 5/5 Divine Strength, 3/3 Improved Seals, 2/2 Improved Holy Strike, and 1/2 Purifying Power.
This route deliberately mixes healing access with solo damage. Divine Strength and Improved Seals make questing less dependent on slow auto-attacks, while Improved Holy Strike gives you more frequent active damage. Your first point in Purifying Power starts reducing the cost of Purify and shortens Exorcism’s cooldown, which is especially useful against Undead and Demons.
You can already heal early dungeons with Holy Light and Flash of Light. If you are leveling almost entirely with a group, damage talents can later give way to Healing Light, Spiritual Focus, and deeper Mana talents.
Choose any WoW Forever leveling range up to 60 and skip part of the questing and travel grind.

Paladin Holy talent build — Holy 11, Protection 0, Retribution 0.
11 / 0 / 0 Key talents: Divine Strength 5/5, Improved Seals 3/3, Improved Holy Strike 2/2, Purifying Power 1/2Holy Paladin PvE Build
Build status: Community Build, Level 60 theorycraft. The 33/7/11 setup reaches Light’s Vigil while building the Holy tree around Healing Light, Reverence, Infusion of Light, Illumination, Divine Favor, Holy Shock, and Holy Power.
The seven Protection points add Toughness and Guardian’s Favor for survivability and Blessing utility. Retribution adds Benediction, Improved Judgement, Holy Conduit, and Sanctified Judgement to reduce the Mana cost of utility and Judgement use.
The main healing loop is built around efficient Flash of Light casts, Holy Light for heavier damage, critical heals feeding Illumination, and Holy Shock interacting with Infusion of Light and Light’s Vigil. This is a strong raid-healing theorycraft direction, but final Mana efficiency and encounter assignments still need level-60 testing.

33 / 7 / 11 Key talents: Light's Vigil, Holy Shock, Divine Favor, Voice of Truth, Holy Power 5/5, Illumination 5/5Holy Paladin PvP Build
Build status: Community Build, PvP-oriented Level 60 theorycraft. The 33/18/0 setup keeps the same deep Holy healing core but spends all remaining points in Protection. It takes Toughness, Redoubt, Guardian’s Favor, Improved Righteous Fury, Sacred Duty, and Improved Hammer of Justice.
The result is a healer designed to survive pressure rather than deal damage. Voice of Truth protects a casting window from Silence and Interrupt effects, Unyielding Faith shortens Fear and Disorient effects, Guardian’s Favor improves Blessing of Protection and Blessing of Freedom, and Improved Hammer of Justice gives your team more frequent control.

33 / 18 / 0 Key talents: Light's Vigil, Holy Shock, Divine Favor, Voice of Truth, Holy Power 5/5, Illumination 5/5Community Builds Players Are Testing
Holy Paladin community builds are already splitting between pure healing, utility, and hybrid damage directions. These setups show what players want to test at level 60, not a confirmed healing meta.
| Build | Split | Main Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Raid Utility | 33/7/11 | Deep Holy with Light’s Vigil plus Protection and Retribution utility for Blessings and Mana management. |
| Balanced Healer | 31/7/13 | Keeps Light’s Vigil while moving a few additional points into Retribution utility. |
| Holy Damage Hybrid | 34/0/17 | Adds Improved Holy Strike, Divine Precision, Consecrated Ground, and deeper Retribution tools for more offensive Holy gameplay. |
Best Race for Holy Paladin in WoW Forever
Holy Paladin has three race options in Forever: Human and Dwarf for Alliance, and Undead for Horde. Human and Dwarf both have direct healer value, while Undead is the only Horde choice and brings unusually strong recovery and PvP utility.
| Goal | Alliance Picks | Horde Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| PvE Healing | Human, Dwarf | Undead | Human gains Spirit for Mana regeneration, while Dwarf can gain spell Crit with a mace. Undead has no Horde alternative and can restore Mana with Cannibalize. |
| PvP Healing | Dwarf, Human | Undead | Stoneform removes several dangerous effects, Will to Survive removes Stuns, and Will of the Forsaken removes Charm, Fear, and Sleep. |
| Leveling | Human, Dwarf | Undead | Human supports Mana regeneration, Dwarf adds survivability, and Undead can recover both Health and Mana between pulls. |
Human gains 5% Spirit through The Human Spirit, which becomes more useful once Reverence allows part of Spirit-based Mana regeneration to continue while casting. Dwarf gains 1% Critical Strike chance with spells and abilities while using a mace, plus Stoneform for physical damage and Bleed, Poison, or Disease effects. Undead can restore up to 35% Health and Mana with Cannibalize and use Will of the Forsaken against Charm, Fear, and Sleep.
Best Professions for Holy Paladin in WoW Forever
| Goal | Professions | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dungeon / Raid Utility | Engineering + Mining | Engineering adds combat utility and crafted tools while Mining supplies many of its materials. |
| Mana / Consumables | Alchemy + Herbalism | Provides Mana potions, healing consumables, Elixirs, and a steady supply of your own herbs. |
| Endgame Crafting | Engineering + Blacksmithing | Combines Engineering utility with Paladin-focused crafted equipment if you can support both without gathering professions. |
Engineering + Mining is the simplest utility-focused route. Alchemy + Herbalism deserves more attention on Holy than on the DPS Paladin builds because Mana consumables directly extend how long you can keep healing. Blacksmithing remains useful for Paladin equipment, but running it together with Engineering becomes expensive without stored materials or gold.
Holy Paladin Stat Priority in WoW Forever
For current level-20 group healing, use Healing Power > Intellect > MP5 > Spell Crit > Spirit as a practical starting priority.
Healing Power directly increases your heals. Intellect gives you a larger Mana pool and additional Spell Crit, while MP5 continues regenerating Mana regardless of whether you recently cast a spell. Spirit only regenerates normally after the five-second rule, although deeper Holy builds improve its value through Reverence.
At level 60, Spell Crit may become more valuable relative to MP5 because Illumination refunds Mana after critical healing effects and Holy Power adds more Crit. That ordering should be tested again once raid gear and real encounter lengths are available.
What Gear Should Holy Paladin Use in WoW Forever?
For healing, look for a one-handed caster weapon and shield with Healing Power, Intellect, Mana regeneration, or useful Crit. Weapon damage matters much less once you are healing full-time than it does while solo leveling.
Do not reject an upgrade simply because it is Cloth, Leather, or Mail. Paladins can wear those armor types, and a lower-armor item with much stronger healing stats can be the better healer piece. Plate becomes available at level 40, but armor type alone should not decide your healing gear.
There is no reliable Forever Pre-BiS list yet. Blizzard is changing dungeon loot, item stats, and set bonuses, so old Classic healing lists should not be copied directly.
Holy Paladin Healing Rotation and Spell Priority
Holy Paladin healing is based more on choosing the correct heal than following a fixed damage-style rotation. At the current beta cap, Flash of Light handles most steady damage, while Holy Light is the larger and more expensive answer to dangerous health drops.
Hog Holy Paladin Healing Works
Use this as the current beta starter loop. Holy Shock, Infusion of Light and Light's Vigil become more important later.
Deeper Holy builds add more decisions. Holy Shock becomes an instant emergency heal, its critical heals can trigger Infusion of Light, and Light’s Vigil + Holy Shock gives the spec a way to respond to party damage. Divine Favor can guarantee a critical heal when you need a predictable recovery window.
How Light’s Vigil Changes Holy Paladin Healing in WoW Forever
Light’s Vigil gives Holy Paladin a direct answer to one of its old weaknesses: healing several party members after group-wide damage. The talent marks a target, and the next Holy Shock used on that target triggers without putting Holy Shock on cooldown. When Light’s Vigil is used on an ally, that Holy Shock also heals members of the target’s party.
This changes how a level-60 Holy Paladin can react to dungeon and raid damage. Flash of Light and Holy Light still handle focused healing, but Light’s Vigil creates a separate response for situations where several players take damage together. Holy Shock can then remain available for another instant heal instead of being completely consumed by the first cast.
The surrounding Holy talents support the same design. Reverence lets part of Spirit-based Mana regeneration continue while casting, Infusion of Light rewards Holy Shock critical heals, and Voice of Truth can protect an important healing window from Silence and Interrupt effects. Together, these changes address several limitations that defined Holy Paladin healing in original Classic.
The final value of Light’s Vigil still depends on level-60 encounter design, party positioning, Mana costs, and tuning, so its place in the raid healing meta cannot be confirmed during the current level-20 beta.
Best Legacy Talents for Holy Paladin
For leveling, Well Rested and Talented remain useful because they improve rested experience and move talent access earlier without increasing the final 51-point cap.
The Quick and the Dead is more relevant to a healer than most specs because helpful abilities cost no resources for a short period after being resurrected and before you re-enter combat. For Great Honor fits a PvP-focused Holy Paladin, while Gourmand can extend useful food buffs. Each character can spend up to 16 Legacy Points at launch.
What Changed for Holy Paladin in WoW Forever?
Holy Paladin receives several changes aimed directly at its old healing limitations. It can regenerate part of its Mana from Spirit while casting, protect itself from Silence and Interrupt effects, turn critical heals into faster Holy Light casts, and finally respond to party damage through Light’s Vigil.
Across the Paladin class, Holy Strike is learned at level 6, Consecration becomes baseline at level 20, and Judgement no longer consumes your active Seal. Holy therefore has more room to contribute damage while healing without constantly rebuilding its basic setup.
Key New and Reworked Holy Paladin Talents
| Talent | What It Changes | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Voice of Truth | Grants 6 seconds of immunity to Silence and Interrupt effects. | Holy can protect an important healing window instead of being completely shut down by one interrupt. |
| Reverence | Allows up to 30% of your Mana regeneration from Spirit to continue while casting. | Spirit has direct value during long healing sequences instead of only working outside the five-second rule. |
| Illumination | At 5/5, critical healing effects refund 50% of the spell’s base Mana cost. | Crit remains part of Holy’s Mana economy, but the refund is weaker than the original Classic version. |
| Light’s Vigil | Marks a target so the next Holy Shock on it triggers no cooldown and causes an extra effect. | On an ally, that Holy Shock also heals the target’s party, giving Holy Paladin its new group-healing tool. |
These mechanics are present in current Forever data, but their tuning and the final level-60 Holy Paladin healing meta can still change as beta testing expands.
