Survival Hunter

Because it is melee, Survival has different risk and reward. Target access, staying connected, and timing your control tools matter more than they do for a ranged Hunter. Your Pet Is Part of the Class, Not a Cosmetic Extra

Even when one specialization values direct weapon damage more than another, the Hunter class still expects competent pet control. A pet can help you hold enemies, extend pressure, or bring utility that your own action bar does not replace. For solo play especially, good pet uptime is one of the class’s strongest advantages.

That also means pet mistakes are real mistakes. If your pet is dead, stuck, mispositioned, or hitting the wrong target, you are not simply losing background damage. You are losing class function.
