Riverglades is a new contested leveling zone in World of Warcraft: Forever, designed primarily for the mid-30s through the mid-40s. It sits on the eastern side of the Eastern Kingdoms, beside Redridge Mountains, the Badlands, the Burning Steppes and the Swamp of Sorrows. Blizzard has announced more than 150 quests here, with separate Alliance and Horde stories, a neutral goblin port and the new Krol’dok Stronghold dungeon.
The practical route: enter from the new Redridge road or use the Steamwheedle ship from Tanaris to Powderfuse Port. Alliance players should locate Farholde Keep, Horde players should locate Rog’mar, and either faction can use Powderfuse Port as a neutral travel and supply stop. Plan your main questing around levels 35–45, rather than treating the entire zone as one fixed-level circuit.
October 2026 status: WoW Forever launches on November 4. The level-30 beta allows some exploration of Riverglades, but does not provide a completed, publicly verified run through its mid-level quest chains. This guide separates announced locations and mechanics from suggested launch routes, so you can prepare without following invented quest names or untested speedrun timings.

WoW Forever Riverglades at a Glance
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where is Riverglades? | Eastern Kingdoms, east of the older Redridge–Badlands–Burning Steppes corridor and north of the Swamp of Sorrows |
| Recommended leveling range | Mostly levels 35–45; individual areas and enemies differ, and the Group Finder shows a wider 33–54 data band |
| How many quests? | More than 150 announced by Blizzard, with a later panel describing nearly 200 across both factions |
| Alliance quest base | Farholde Keep and the Brotherhood of the Horse |
| Horde quest base | Rog’mar and the frontier conflict around the ogres |
| Neutral settlement | Powderfuse Port, connected to Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris |
| New dungeon | Krol’dok Stronghold, announced around levels 40–45 |
| PvP status | Contested outdoor zone |
| Playable quest content | Planned for the November 4 launch; not fully testable under the level-30 beta cap |
Do not confuse the two level ranges. The wider numbers displayed in some game-file or Group Finder databases are not proof that every quest is efficient from 33 all the way to 54. Blizzard’s intended experience is the mid-30s to mid-40s. Use your quest log, enemy levels and available follow-ups once the full game opens.
How to Get to Riverglades in WoW Forever
There are two practical approaches: a new land connection from Redridge Mountains, or the Steamwheedle sea route from Tanaris. Both matter because Riverglades links previously separate Classic travel corridors.
| Starting point | Suggested travel | Best for | What to do on arrival |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eastern Kingdoms | Travel to Redridge Mountains; follow the newly opened, signposted fork off the road toward the new frontier | Characters already questing around Duskwood, Redridge, Badlands or neighboring Eastern Kingdoms zones | Follow the safe road toward your faction’s base; take the flight path before exploring hostile camps |
| Kalimdor / Tanaris | Reach Steamwheedle Port on Tanaris’s east coast and take the Steamwheedle transport to Powderfuse Port | Players already on Kalimdor who want a direct coastal arrival | Locate the neutral services, then find the appropriate Alliance or Horde settlement |
| Return visits | Use an unlocked local flight path, then ride to the next quest hub | Anyone returning from class training, an Auction House visit or a dungeon group | Check the currently available network in-game; do not assume a beta-only flight node is active at launch |
Alliance players arriving from Redridge should use the road and work toward Farholde Keep. Horde players crossing from Tanaris have a useful neutral landing at Powderfuse Port before proceeding to Rog’mar. You can also explore roads connecting the frontier to the surrounding zones, but the Redridge approach and the Tanaris ship are the clearest announced entry routes.
At the first safe settlement, pick up the flight master if one is active, set a sensible return location, repair equipment and make room in your bags. Riverglades is large enough that skipping basic travel setup will cost more time than a short stop in town.
Explore Riverglades at Your Own Pace
Once you know which road or ship to take, the real decision is how much of the mid-level journey you want to complete yourself. Compare a self-guided quest route with an optional post-launch leveling service.
Riverglades Quest Hubs, Settlements and Factions
The zone is built around everyday frontier conflicts rather than one world-ending campaign. Its major locations tell you where your route can branch: Alliance defenses in the south, Horde footholds, goblin trade, contested farms and ogre-held territory deeper inland. The following is a hub guide, not a fabricated quest-by-quest walkthrough.
| Area | Faction / purpose | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Farholde Keep | Alliance; Brotherhood of the Horse | Quest introductions, local services, the story of the lost Stormwind frontier and Knight Commander Demar Brant |
| Rog’mar | Horde staging point | Horde quests, the frontier war and the route toward Boulderock ogre territory |
| Powderfuse Port | Neutral; Steamwheedle-linked goblins | Ship access, traders, supplies and a convenient regrouping stop for either faction |
| Sunnyglade | Contested; Twilight’s Hammer activity | Old Warcraft-history connections and dangerous cultist areas |
| Meadowsbrook / Windstead / Wheeler’s Grange | Rural frontier settlements | Named field locations worth checking for nearby objectives instead of making one long circuit across the entire map |
| Krol’dok Stronghold / Bolder’ok | Ogres and elite encounters | Higher-level group content and the zone’s new dungeon connection |
| Twilight’s Shroud / Forlorn Pit | Higher-threat frontier areas | More dangerous opponents and later-stage objectives; scout carefully before committing to long pulls |
For Alliance: start by establishing yourself at Farholde Keep. The Brotherhood of the Horse and its war over the frontier give the southern routes their identity. Follow available story breadcrumbs into nearby farms and trade routes before you push toward the higher-level inland areas.
For Horde: begin with Rog’mar or approach via the neutral port. Expect your story to intersect with the Boulderock ogres and the larger struggle between outposts, goblins and the Twilight’s Hammer. Avoid using the Alliance town as your assumed service hub.
For either faction: do not skip Powderfuse Port simply because its quests are not your immediate objective. A neutral bank, vendors and cross-continent transport can make it the most useful logistical stop in a long leveling session. Vendor stock, flight-path availability and reputation requirements may change between beta and release.
Suggested Riverglades Leveling Route: Levels 35–45
No one has a reliable, fully tested Riverglades quest-order speedrun before November 4. The most useful plan is therefore a staged route with clear rules for changing zones. Each band below is a planning window, not an exact quest prerequisite or a promise of a certain XP-per-hour rate.
| Character level | Riverglades priority | When to switch or group |
|---|---|---|
| 35–37 | Reach the zone, establish your faction hub and work through the least dangerous nearby outdoor objectives | Stay with nearby low- to mid-30s quests; switch to Redridge-adjacent routes, Stranglethorn or Badlands if every available target outlevels you |
| 37–40 | Clear geographically overlapping farm, river and trade-road objectives; turn in several quests together | Skip isolated elite objectives until a group forms naturally; travel time matters more than completing the map in a perfect sequence |
| 40–43 | Continue the frontier campaign and consider a Krol’dok Stronghold party when your character and group are ready | Compare a dungeon session with remaining open-world quests, including the time needed to find teammates and reach the entrance |
| 43–45 | Finish level-appropriate higher-threat chains, explore remaining hubs and collect valuable follow-ups | Move on when quests turn low-value or the remaining objectives demand repeated long trips; keep unfinished elite content for a future visit |
How to Build an Efficient Quest Loop
- Start with the quest hub, not the nearest mob. Collect several objectives whose markers share the same roads, farms or riverbank.
- Clear one cluster at a time. Finish ordinary kills and collection objectives together; keep optional elite objectives separate so they cannot block your route.
- Use the road as your spine. River crossings, cliffs, faction camps and dense hostile territory can turn a short-looking map distance into a long detour.
- Turn in as a group. Returning with three completed nearby objectives is usually more productive than repeatedly crossing the zone for one delivery.
- Reassess after every hub. If mobs are too dangerous or follow-up quests are substantially above your level, complete useful quests in a neighboring zone and come back.
That last step is especially important in Forever: there is no level scaling. A low-level character cannot make a high-level storyline efficient just by reaching its first NPC. Riverglades expands the 35–45 corridor; it does not replace every existing route through Stranglethorn, Badlands or other overlapping areas.
Alliance and Horde Route Differences
Alliance players are likely to spend more time near Farholde Keep and the Brotherhood of the Horse, while Horde players will begin around Rog’mar and their faction-specific frontier conflicts. Neutral transport at Powderfuse Port makes it easier to regroup, but it does not turn the zone into a shared quest campaign. Before launch, avoid relying on guides that present a single list of named quests as if both factions receive identical objectives.
If you are leveling with friends, confirm faction and current level before meeting at the port. One party member arriving five levels below everyone else may spend most of the first hour dodging mobs instead of contributing. Meet for a shared objective once each character is ready for its enemy level.
Krol’dok Stronghold: Riverglades’ New Dungeon
Krol’dok Stronghold is the new ogre dungeon associated with Riverglades. The currently corrected planning bracket is levels 40–45, not the older 40–55 range still found in some early summaries. The outdoor stronghold sits on the route from the Redridge side of the zone; beta explorers reported an instance entrance near a meeting stone and elite ogres around the compound.
The setting connects to the Boulderock ogres and the broader Twilight’s Hammer conflict. However, complete boss mechanics, the final quest list and reliable loot tables have not been established by a full level-appropriate beta run. Avoid choosing a class or booking a gear farm based on an unverified item name or supposed guaranteed drop.
Before You Attempt Krol’dok Stronghold
- Check your level and group. The advertised 40–45 range is planning information; confirm real entry conditions and enemy levels after launch.
- Collect the quests you can actually access. A clear-only service does not automatically include travel, prerequisite chains or quest turn-ins.
- Prepare basics. Repair gear, bring appropriate food, potions and ammunition or reagents, and agree on loot rules with your group.
- Decide your goal. A story-and-XP first run, repeat clears for gear and a missing Experienced Spelunker Legacy criterion may require different preparations.
XP decision: Blizzard increased dungeon kill XP by 20% during October beta tuning and corrected a group-level calculation issue. That makes a good group worth considering, but it is not evidence that endlessly farming Krol’dok will outperform every outdoor Riverglades quest circuit. Compare actual run time, travel and quest rewards when the dungeon opens.
Legacy connection: Krol’dok appears in the Experienced Spelunker grouping in the currently published Dungeon Legacy challenge breakdown. A regular dungeon clear can contribute the required boss credit, but it is not the same as completing every dungeon on the challenge checklist. For the full account-wide points system, see the WoW Forever Legacy System Guide.
Choose the Right Krol'dok Progression Path
A group clear, a dungeon quest and a Legacy achievement are different goals. Check which one you actually need before arranging a run.
What Rewards and Reputations Are in Riverglades?
There are good reasons to explore Riverglades beyond raw experience: new faction stories, neutral goblin services, possible reputation purchases, gathering routes and the loot earned from the zone’s dungeon. The distinction is between an announced reward type and a verified specific item or amount.
| Activity | Reason to do it | What is confirmed before launch |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor quests | Experience, story progression and ordinary quest rewards | Blizzard has announced 150+ quests across the zone; a complete public reward-by-quest list is not yet verified |
| Powderfuse Port | Supply shopping, travel and trade; check neutral goblin vendors | Port and Steamwheedle link are official; beta explorers report specialty vendors and reputation-related goods, whose final requirements need launch confirmation |
| Brotherhood of the Horse | Alliance frontier storyline and possible related progression | Its presence in Riverglades is supported by Blizzard and beta explorations; do not assume a final reputation reward list exists yet |
| Outdoor gathering | Gather herbs, fish and other saleable or useful materials while questing | Beta explorers report familiar herb and fishing nodes; spawn density and profitability after release are not established |
| Krol’dok Stronghold | Dungeon experience, group objectives, possible item upgrades and Legacy credit | The dungeon exists, but boss loot, drop rates and final access details need release testing |
For now, do not build a gold-per-hour farming strategy around an unconfirmed Riverglades recipe, ore node, rare spawn or reputation rank. The smarter move is to collect useful materials along your normal quest loop, check the vendors you actually reach and revisit the economy once real players have tested the live zone.
Riverglades Enemies and Areas to Approach Carefully
The zone mixes ordinary outdoor enemies with pockets of much greater danger. Beta explorers found several of the following hazards while visiting below the zone’s intended level; the descriptions identify places to approach carefully, not an exhaustively tested difficulty ranking.
| Area / enemy | Why it matters | Practical response |
|---|---|---|
| Redridge approach | Some enemies are already in the mid-30s near the new entrance | Stay on the road, avoid chained pulls and enter closer to the lower end of the intended range only with a comfortable escape route |
| Riverbanks and Eastwind Shore | Murlocs and crocolisks can make repeated water crossings dangerous | Choose crossings deliberately; pull back toward safe ground rather than fighting several enemies in water |
| Sunnyglade and Twilight’s Shroud | Twilight’s Hammer activity and more threatening caster enemies | Approach at a suitable level; watch for spell or disease effects and avoid stacking multiple pulls |
| Krol’dok Stronghold surroundings | Elite ogres and group-oriented territory | Scout from outside, avoid solo shortcut attempts through the compound and bring a party for relevant objectives |
| Outside Powderfuse Port | Explorers have reported roaming dangerous enemies near the neutral settlement | Do not assume every area just beyond the town gate is safe, particularly while underleveled |
On a contested realm, add world PvP to the equation. A theoretically shorter route through faction-controlled territory can lose its advantage quickly if you must repeatedly recover from combat or take detours around enemy players.
Where to Level After Riverglades
Do not treat Riverglades as a mandatory zone that must carry every character from 35 to 45. Leave whenever the next meaningful quest is a poor match for your level, gear or group; return later for storyline completion, gathering and dungeon objectives.
| Your situation | Sensible continuation |
|---|---|
| Riverglades feels too hard around 35–38 | Finish accessible quests in Stranglethorn Vale, Badlands or Dustwallow Marsh before returning |
| Most nearby quests are too low or far apart at 40–45 | Move toward Tanaris, Feralas or The Hinterlands according to your continent and current quest log |
| You have a reliable party and relevant quests | Compare Krol’dok or another level-appropriate instance against the time needed to finish your current outdoor quests |
| You are already approaching the late 40s | Use the wider 1–60 leveling route to plan the next zone corridor; avoid forcing low-value Riverglades cleanup |
Because the area is new, the best launch-day route may be different from the ideal settled-world route. Crowded quest spawns, contested paths and new transport timings can change the value of a hub. Keep one alternative zone ready and avoid wasting the first day trying to complete a particular objective that is not available or is overtuned.
WoW Forever Riverglades FAQ
What Level Should I Be for Riverglades?
Plan for roughly levels 35–45. The Group Finder’s broader 33–54 data band is not a tested XP recommendation for every objective. If the opening quests or enemies are too strong, do a few levels in a neighboring zone first.
How Do I Get to Riverglades From Kalimdor?
Travel to Steamwheedle Port on the east coast of Tanaris and use the new Steamwheedle route to Powderfuse Port in Riverglades. Check the live departure and route after the November 4 launch.
Where Are the Alliance and Horde Towns?
Alliance players use Farholde Keep, while Horde players use Rog’mar. Powderfuse Port is the neutral goblin hub for both factions.
Can I Complete the Riverglades Quests in the Beta?
Not as a normal mid-level quest campaign under the October level-30 cap. Some explorers entered the zone to inspect locations, but the 35–45 quest experience will need validation after launch.
Which Dungeon Is in Riverglades?
Krol’dok Stronghold, an ogre dungeon announced around levels 40–45. Its final bosses, loot and entrance requirements should be checked in the live game rather than copied from pre-release speculation.
Is Riverglades Exclusive to Skyborne Players?
No. Riverglades is a new general leveling zone for Horde and Alliance characters; it is not the Skyborne starting zone. Skyborne begin on Zephras Isle, and access to that playable race is a separate Blizzard account-upgrade question.
Does Riverglades Have a Reputation or Guaranteed Best-in-Slot Item?
Its factions and goblin traders create possible reputation and equipment opportunities, but final repeatable reputation routes, loot tables and specific-item guarantees have not been established by level-appropriate play. Evaluate actual vendors and drops once the zone goes live.
Quick Riverglades Plan
At level 35 or above, choose the Redridge road or Tanaris ship, establish a local travel point, quest from your own faction’s settlement, and move through nearby objectives in groups. Visit Powderfuse Port for neutral services. Around the early 40s, decide whether Krol’dok Stronghold is worth a party run. If the next quest is too high-level, too far away or requires a stalled elite group, switch to a neighboring zone and return later.
