WoW Midnight Season 1 has no announced end date, and that’s exactly why people get caught out. When the season turns over, a pile of things you kept meaning to get round to just stop existing. Titles lock, seasonal mounts leave the table. Your crest stash stops being useful.
Most of what’s left on your list takes longer than it looks. Going from 2,900 to 3,400 rating, or fielding a Mythic pug for a Cutting Edge kill, takes quite some time — which is the argument for starting now instead of waiting for a date to appear.
The order matters, because these things run on very different clocks.
Below is what each of those actually gives you, and what carries over anyway.
There’s no confirmed WoW Midnight Season 1 end date yet — nobody outside Blizzard knows, and the estimates don’t agree.
Wowhead’s datamining of the in-game event calendar puts Patch 12.1 on 25 August 2026 — the Turbulent Timeways event ends that day, and major patches usually land when Timeways finishes. That would open Season 2 around 1 September. Other trackers run two weeks earlier, at 11 August for the patch and the 18th for the season, and some push the season end out to 31 August.
Aim for the 11th. If the patch lands then and you planned for the 25th, you lose the seasonal rewards. If it lands later and you were ready early, you lose nothing.
We’ll update this page the day Blizzard confirms a date. For the full Season 2 rundown, see our WoW Midnight Season 2 release date guide.
Every mount on this ladder is going away. Both Carrions, the Timelost Saddle, the Umbral Ashes — none of them return, and Season 2 hands out a different set for a different ladder. Whichever one you’re closest to is the one on the clock.
| Rating | Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1,500 | Keystone Conqueror | “Umbral” title |
| 2,000 | Keystone Master | Calamitous Carrion mount, Champion of the Dawn |
| 2,500 | Keystone Hero | Light of the Party unlock |
| 3,000 | Keystone Legend | Convalescent Carrion mount |
| 3,400 | Keystone Myth | “Umbral Contender” title, Timelost Saddle |
| Top 1% | Umbral Champion | Umbral Ashes mount |
| Top 0.1% | Umbral Hero | “Umbral Hero” title |
One push covers most of the board. Keystone Myth gets you both Carrions, the portals you time on the way, and the two rewards people actually notice — the Umbral Contender title and the Timelost Saddle — leaving behind only top 1% and 0.1% rewards. It’s the one to aim for if you want the whole ladder closed in a single push.
None of that is a friendly pugging experience. Doing it from 3,000 to 3,400 is two weeks of evenings where one death ends the key and half your groups fall apart before the second boss. Our boosters push R1 keys every season and hold these achievements themselves — same climb, a couple of evenings, on a team that makes it quick.
→ Keystone Myth (includes every bracket below), from $116.
Not chasing 3,400? The same logic runs down the ladder — Keystone Legend at 3,000 for the Convalescent Carrion, Keystone Master at 2,000 for the Calamitous Carrion. Pick the mount you’d actually be annoyed to lose and work to that one.
Every dungeon you clear at +10 inside the timer earns you a permanent teleport that stays on the character, not account-wide.
Season 2 runs a completely different eight: Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings’ Rest, Ruby Life Pools and Temple of Sethraliss. Not one dungeon from this season carries over.
The same rotation change is what makes the two dungeon mounts a problem. The Lucent Hawkstrider from Degentrius in Magisters’ Terrace and the Spectral Hawkstrider from Restless Heart in Windrunner Spire drop on Mythic and Mythic+ with no bad luck protection. They aren’t seasonal, so they don’t vanish — but once both dungeons leave the keystone pool you drop from unlimited key runs to a single Mythic 0 lockout at a time. Farming them now takes weeks. Farming them after would take months.
Eight portals and two mounts, all gated behind keys that stop existing. We run the dungeons you’re missing at +10 in the time limit, so the portals land and the Hawkstriders get real attempts while the fast route is still open.
Haven’t touched keys at all this season? Starting from zero is where the clock bites hardest — the rating climbs slowly, and pug groups fall apart faster than you’d think with only weeks left on the board. We take it from a standing start to whichever mount you’re after, whether that’s Master and the Calamitous Carrion or the full Keystone Myth push. The part that isn’t realistic is self-pugging it from nothing in the time left.
Season 1 ended up with four raids: the Voidspire, the Dreamrift, March on Quel’Danas, and Sporefall, which arrived later in 12.0.7 as a single-boss weekly. Only the first three carry an Ahead of the Curve and a Cutting Edge.
Ahead of the Curve wants the final boss on Heroic or higher, Cutting Edge wants Mythic, and both become unavailable the moment the next raid tier opens. That’s Chimaerus in the Dreamrift, Crown of the Cosmos in the Voidspire and Midnight Falls in March on Quel’Danas, all before Venomous Abyss goes live.
Worth stacking while you’re in there: the Ashes of Belo’ren drops three per Mythic Midnight Falls kill, and that guaranteed farm ends when the next expansion lands — after that it’s a ~1% grind. The Mythic run you’re already booking for Cutting Edge is the cheapest time to bank a few copies while the odds are still generous.
And if you are into achievement collecting — Glory of the Midnight Raider wants tasks across all three raids and hands over the Tenebrous Harrower mount.
Most guilds won’t have a spare Mythic spot in the last weeks, and pugging the final bosses that late is a coin-flip — groups dissolve after a couple of wipes. AotC is cheap insurance if the Cutting Edge run doesn’t land. We book the slot for your preferred time and it’s done in an evening.
→ Midnight Raid Bundle (10% off, covers all three AotC) from $22 · Cutting Edge.
Beat the Delve Nemesis Nullaeus solo and the Arcanovoid Construct is yours. Solo means solo, with no other players in your party at any point in the run.
The achievement closes when the next Delve season opens. The mount comes only from that achievement, so once it closes there is no drop to farm it back later. Get it now, while the door is still open.
No group to coordinate, and it’s the cheapest thing on this list. Guaranteed kill on your character while it’s still a guaranteed reward.
Prey runs its own seasonal track — the Preyseeker’s Journey — so most people either ignore it or stall halfway. Two of the rewards are mounts, bought with Remnant of Anguish once you hit the rank: Preyseeker’s Hubris at rank 5 and Preyseeker’s Wrath at rank 10. The Journey also hands out pets, the Famed Preyseeker transmog set, and a teleport toy along the way.
The Journey resets when Season 2 opens, so the rank you need for these mounts starts over — treat them as leaving with everything else.
Ten ranks is a lot of hunts to grind in three weeks. We run the track and hand back both mounts.
Eight rating brackets, each unlocking a piece of the Elite transmog set: Combatant I at 1,000 through to Elite at 2,400, with the Galaxy weapon illusion at 1,950 and the prestige cloak at 2,100. On top of that, mode-specific rewards for wins at Elite rank — the Galactic Gladiator’s Goredrake from 50 rated 3v3 wins, plus Legend and Strategist for Solo Shuffle and Blitz. The Vicious Snaplizard needs no high rating at all — about 80 rated 3v3 wins, or 40 in RBG, while you’re at 1,000 or above.
All of it goes when the season does. Full breakdown in our Midnight Season 1 PvP rewards guide.
Start here rather than last. We ran hundreds of Gladiator titles through Midnight Season 1, and we do the same every season, so we know how the last push goes — rated ladders move in days and weeks, not evenings, and the people who leave it late are the ones who miss.
→ Push your arena rating from $34 · Solo Shuffle from $21 · Gladiator with the Goredrake.
Spend every Dawncrest. Blizzard hasn’t said what happens to unspent ones, but seasonal crests were reset at every season change in The War Within.
Cash your last Great Vaults. Every weekly Vault left is free gear.
Champion of the Dawn takes any one of 2,000 Mythic+ rating, a Heroic or Mythic Midnight Falls kill, or 1,600 rated PvP. It only needs one of the three, so if you’re doing any of the sections above it comes along for free.
WoW Midnight Season 2 opens a week after Patch 12.1 with a new raid, a new Mythic+ rotation and a fresh crest economy — the full rundown is in our Season 2 guide. The players on top two weeks in are the ones who geared fastest out of the gate.
→ Pre-order your Season 2 boosts and skip the launch-week queue.
If one thing on this list would sting to lose, sort that one now. Most players come to us for the rating cutoff or the Cutting Edge kill, and the Season End Bundle takes 7% off if you’re closing more than one.

There is no official date. Blizzard hasn’t announced one. Estimates put Patch 12.1 between 11 and 31 August 2026, with Season 2 opening a week after the patch. Work to 11 August, since being early costs nothing and being late costs the mount.
No. The Calamitous Carrion at 2,000 rating, the Convalescent Carrion at 3,000 and the Timelost Saddle at 3,400 are all cutoff-based. When Season 2 opens they stop being obtainable, and the new season awards a different set of mounts for a new ladder.
No. All eight Season 1 dungeons leave the Mythic+ rotation, and a teleport is only available for dungeons in the current pool. Any portal you haven’t earned waits until those dungeons return to a future rotation, and there’s no schedule for that.
No. Both close the moment the next raid tier opens and become Feats of Strength. Season 2 awards a new Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge for the Venomous Abyss, but this tier’s versions never come back.
No conversion has been confirmed. Season 2 runs on Mistcrests, and seasonal crests were reset at every season change in The War Within. Spend unspent Dawncrests before Season 2 opens.
It’s the achievement that grants the Gleaming Sunmote. You unlock it with any one of 2,500 Mythic+ rating, 2,400 Elite PvP rating, or a Mythic Midnight Falls kill. The Sunmote itself is cosmetic, not a power upgrade — it adds visual effects to Season 1 class set appearances, Warband-wide.
No. Mythic raid mounts keep their full drop rate until the next expansion launches, so it keeps dropping three copies per Midnight Falls kill for the rest of Midnight. After that it falls to roughly 1%.
Yes, upgraded gear stays with you. But Season 2 lifts the item level ceiling well above Season 1, so it isn’t worth over-investing in pieces you’ll replace in the first week.
The cutoff mounts stop being obtainable when Season 2 opens: both Carrions (Calamitous at 2,000 and Convalescent at 3,000 Mythic+ rating), the Timelost Saddle at 3,400, the Galactic Gladiator’s Goredrake and the Vicious Snaplizard from PvP, the Tenebrous Harrower from Glory of the Midnight Raider, and both Preyseeker’s Journey mounts. The Arcanovoid Construct is gone too, since its achievement closes with the season. The two Hawkstriders don’t vanish but become far rarer. Only the Ashes of Belo’ren stays, since it runs on the expansion clock rather than the season.
