WoW Forever Paladin Epic Mount Guide: Charger Quests

WoW Forever Paladin Epic Mount Guide artwork featuring an Alliance Paladin on a golden-armored Charger and a Forsaken Paladin on a dark Charger, with quest reagents and dungeon locations.

There are two Level 60 Paladin epic mount routes in WoW Forever: Human and Dwarf Paladins follow the Alliance Judgment and Redemption chain to learn Summon Charger. Undead Paladins have their own Forsaken storyline leading to Summon Forsaken Charger. The two routes are not interchangeable.

Release status, October 27, 2026: Blizzard closed the Forever beta on October 23, and the Level 60 game is scheduled to launch on November 4. This guide uses WoW Forever 1.60.1 quest and spell records plus Blizzard’s official announcements. The Alliance route has a documented quest sequence and a practical preparation list, but it has not been completed on the unreleased Level 60 servers. Blizzard confirms the separate Forsaken epic quest; its final step-by-step objectives, NPC sequence and material costs are not yet independently verified. Use the two evidence levels below rather than treating an old Classic route as a tested Horde walkthrough.

Which Paladin Charger Route Applies to You?

Check your race and faction before farming reagents or organizing a dungeon group. A Horde option on a service page does not turn an Alliance Paladin into an Undead Paladin, and learning one Charger spell does not grant both versions.

CharacterEpic mountQuest route / evidenceWhat is confirmed
Alliance Human or Dwarf PaladinSummon ChargerJudgment and Redemption (#7647)Level 60; the original class-quest records are present in Forever, including Dire Maul West and Scholomance objectives
Horde Undead (Forsaken) PaladinSummon Forsaken ChargerA separate Level 60 Retribution-themed chain; pre-launch quest-condition references name Justice and Retribution (#97185), not yet client-testedBlizzard confirms a unique Forsaken epic mount quest; the complete route and material costs remain unverified

The lower-level Warhorse unlock is separate: reaching Level 40 or completing an earlier Paladin class quest does not finish the Level 60 epic quest. If you are still working toward 60, the Paladin Class Guide covers specialization and leveling decisions; the WoW Forever Mounts Guide owns the broader Riding system and other mount sources.

Requirements and Reagent Checklist

For either route, start with an eligible Level 60 Paladin, an available class quest and enough time to finish its character-specific objectives. If you already completed some steps, check the active quest in your log before buying materials again.

Alliance Charger: materials to prepare

The following list comes from the Alliance quest records listed for Forever. Several objectives still reflect Classic-era quest text and require a launch-client check before treating the amounts or prices as final.

Item or expenseQuest-record amountWhere it fits
Runecloth40Collection of Goods — Grimand Elmore’s barding materials
Arcanite Bar6
Arthas’ Tears10
Stratholme Holy Water5
Enriched Manna Biscuit20Manna-Enriched Horse Feed — speak with Merideth Carlson at Southshore
Azerothian Diamond1The Divination Scryer — final device for the Great Ossuary
Pristine Black Diamond1
Quest Gold (Classic text)150g + 150g + 50g = 350g reference subtotalHigh Priest Rohan, Grimand Elmore and Merideth Carlson; not a confirmed final Forever server price

Shopping tip: check what is already in your bags and bank before buying anything. Stratholme Holy Water is a bind-on-pickup dungeon item, so plan its collection in Stratholme rather than treating it as an Auction House purchase. The Enriched Manna Biscuit record lists an Argent Dawn Friendly requirement; verify the vendor and your reputation before relying on a purchase. These are Alliance-chain materials only. Do not buy them for an Undead Paladin without evidence that the Forsaken route actually uses them.

Before committing Gold: reach Level 60, pick up your actual faction’s quest and check which stages are already complete. If you follow the Alliance path, plan the Stratholme collection, Dire Maul West visit and Scholomance finale as separate objectives; each requires its own quest progress, not merely a clear. Once you know what remains, choose between doing the route yourself or requesting help with the applicable questline. You do not need both Charger services for one character.

Charger Quest Chain by Faction

Alliance Charger: Full Quest Route

The Alliance route begins at Stormwind’s Cathedral District. It contains two preparation branches that can be advanced separately, then merges into a spirit-blessing visit and the Scholomance finale. That is why a short list of six broad stages can hide several required quests.

OrderQuestNPC and practical objective
StartLord Grayson Shadowbreaker (#7638)Speak to Duthorian Rall, then Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker at the Stormwind Cathedral
A1Emphasis on Sacrifice (#7637)Take the Ironforge errand to High Priest Rohan and obtain his Exorcism Censer
A2To Show Due Judgment (#7639)Return the censer to Lord Grayson in Stormwind
A3Exorcising Terrordale (#7640)Use the censer at the haunted ground in Terrordale, Eastern Plaguelands, and defeat 25 quest spirits in the reference objectives
B1The Work of Grimand Elmore (#7641)Meet Grimand Elmore in Stormwind’s Dwarven District and arrange Arcanite Barding
B2Collection of Goods (#7642)Turn in the cloth, bars, herb, Holy Water and the listed crafting fee
B3Grimand’s Finest Work (#7648)Bring the finished Arcanite Barding back to Lord Grayson
MergeAncient Equine Spirit (#7643)Prepare special horse feed, travel to Dire Maul West in Feralas, defeat Tendris Warpwood and bless the barding at the freed spirit
FeedManna-Enriched Horse Feed (#7645)While the spirit quest is active, visit Merideth Carlson near Southshore, hand in the requested biscuits and fee, then take the feed to Dire Maul
ReturnBlessed Arcanite Barding (#7644)Bring the blessed barding to Lord Grayson in Stormwind
DeviceThe Divination Scryer (#7646)Supply Azerothian Diamond and Pristine Black Diamond to prepare the device
FinalJudgment and Redemption (#7647)Use the scryer in Scholomance’s Great Ossuary, defeat the summoned spirits and Death Knight Darkreaver, then redeem the fallen Charger’s soul

Useful route order: accept both Stormwind preparation branches early. Complete the short Ironforge trip, collect the barding materials while finishing other Level 60 activities, then clear Terrordale before setting up the long Dire Maul West run. Have the special horse feed prepared before entering Dire Maul. Save Scholomance for the final step after both the Blessed Arcanite Barding and Divination Scryer are ready.

The precise dialogue, quest-item hand-off and required money shown in this table come from Forever-listed quest records that retain some Classic wording; the entries are not proof of a personally tested November 4 completion. Follow the current quest log if a live build changes an objective.

Forsaken Charger: Confirmed Unlock and Preparation

Do not start the Alliance route on your Undead Paladin. Blizzard explicitly announced an independent Level 60 epic mount quest for Forsaken Paladins, whose theme is Retribution rather than the Alliance story of Redemption. The Summon Forsaken Charger spell is documented in the Forever database at Level 60. The name Justice and Retribution and quest ID 97185 appear in pre-launch quest-condition references, but this mapping does not verify the starting NPC or a complete quest chain.

Bandarion Keep in the Whispering Wood of Tirisfal Glades is a key location in the Forsaken Paladin class storyline. It is a sensible place to revisit when preparing the class quest, but the sources available before launch do not establish that the final Level 60 quest starts there. Nor do they confirm that a Forsaken Paladin must buy the Alliance barding ingredients or clear the same two dungeons.

For this route, first reach Level 60, finish the Forsaken class prerequisites your quest journal actually requires, and ask the relevant Paladin trainer or quest giver about the epic mount chain when the full game opens. If Justice and Retribution appears in the live journal, follow its actual prerequisite and objective text. Do not assume the preliminary title will necessarily appear as the first quest. Check the active objectives before spending Gold or organizing a dungeon; a precise Forsaken material checklist or borrowed Alliance dungeon route would be speculation before launch.

Dungeon and Group Stages

Dire Maul West: Free the Ancient Equine Spirit (Alliance)

Ancient Equine Spirit sends the Alliance Paladin to the western wing of Dire Maul in Feralas. In the recorded quest, Tendris Warpwood holds the spirit; defeat him, feed the freed spirit the Manna-Enriched Horse Feed and use your Arcanite Barding for the blessing. It is easy to waste a trip if you arrive without the feed or without the correct quest active.

Arrange a capable dungeon group rather than assuming the final part is an outdoor solo errand. Bring the Paladin with the quest and the required objects. Party roles and tactics depend on the group and the final Forever balance, not on a mandatory class-composition claim.

Scholomance: The Great Ossuary and Death Knight Darkreaver (Alliance)

After finishing The Divination Scryer, take the device and the Blessed Arcanite Barding to the Great Ossuary in Scholomance. The reference quest describes placing the Scryer to summon spirits; after the trial, fight Death Knight Darkreaver, reclaim the Charger’s Lost Soul and complete the redemption interaction with the fallen steed.

The recorded Classic event has successive spirit waves that historically reacted to different Paladin Judgements. Forever has changed Paladin spells, Seals and talents, so do not copy the old Wisdom / Justice / Righteousness / Light sequence as a verified Forever strategy. Read the live encounter prompts, confirm which Judgements exist on your character and keep the quest holder present for the final soul-and-barding interaction. The event’s release-version mechanics still need an actual Level 60 run.

If the group wipes, avoid assuming the summoning items or doors can be reset in exactly the old way. Recover your group, inspect the current quest state and check whether the quest giver offers a replacement Scryer if required. A repeatable older quest called Again Into the Great Ossuary exists in Classic records, but its precise Forever availability has not been verified.

Costs, Rewards and Riding Conditions

Unlike a regular mount purchased from a vendor, the epic Paladin mount is a class quest reward and summon spell. Completing the Alliance final quest is tied to Summon Charger; the Forsaken unlock condition names Justice and Retribution for its unique spell. Neither is a tradeable mount item or an automatic account-wide unlock for every character.

Cost componentHow to estimate itEvidence boundary
Alliance quest feesThe inherited quest text lists 150g + 150g + 50g = 350gUseful reference, not a verified Forever launch-server total
Alliance trade goods40 Runecloth, 6 Arcanite Bars, 10 Arthas’ Tears, 2 diamondsPrices depend on your own stock and the live Auction House
Alliance dungeon / vendor items5 Stratholme Holy Water; 20 Enriched Manna BiscuitsCollect or buy through the appropriate in-game sources, subject to requirements
Forsaken ChargerNo published complete reagent or Gold totalDo not reuse the Alliance budget without a checked Forsaken quest record

For a personal budget, add the Gold still required by your unfinished quests, plus the current market cost of missing trade goods, travel and any consumables your group needs. Subtract items you already own and do not charge yourself twice for quest items returned during earlier steps. No AH price from another realm can reliably predict the November launch economy.

The class-mount spell records show a Level 60 requirement and ordinary mounted-use restrictions, including no summoning during combat. Do not assume that completing one Paladin class quest unlocks every other mount or replaces all Riding-training requirements. The Riding and Mounts Guide explains the general training model separately from this class-specific reward.

Choose the Correct Charger Assistance

If you would rather not organize the materials and group stages yourself, compare the Paladin Epic Mount Boost with the dedicated Forsaken Charger Boost before ordering. These are alternative ways to request help with the appropriate mount, not parts of a combined two-order unlock.

Published optionWho it suitsCheck before purchase
Paladin Epic Mount BoostLevel 60 Alliance or Undead Paladin; choose the matching Faction optionQuestline work and required quest Gold/materials are included; the live configurator lists Piloted sessions
Forsaken Charger BoostUndead Paladin: either already Level 60 or needing the combined leveling optionOffers Questline only or Leveling + questline and lists Piloted or Remote Self-play; compare the chosen scope instead of ordering both services for the same mount

Important scope difference: the general Paladin Epic Mount package requires a ready Level 60 character and does not include leveling. The dedicated Forsaken product offers a separately selected Leveling + questline option for an eligible Undead Paladin. Neither option changes your character’s race, grants both faction mounts or makes unreleased quest content playable before Blizzard enables it. If you have partial progress, share it before arranging the remaining work.

Paladin Epic Mount FAQ

Can an Undead Paladin use the Alliance Charger quest?

No. The Forever client identifies a separate Forsaken spell and quest gate. The Alliance quest’s reagent and NPC list is not a confirmed route for Undead Paladins.

At what level do I get Charger in WoW Forever?

The epic class mounts are Level 60 rewards. Earlier Warhorse quests belong to Level 40 progress and are not the same unlock.

What is the Forsaken Charger’s final quest called?

Blizzard has not published a fully verified Forsaken mount quest walkthrough or final quest-name list. Pre-launch condition references suggest Justice and Retribution (#97185), but the exact step order and quest NPCs require a Level 60 release-client check.

How much Gold does the Alliance Charger quest cost?

The Forever-listed Classic quest text adds up to 350g in three fees, before trade goods and other supplies. Recheck those fees and your realm’s material prices in the playable Forever build.

Do I need Dire Maul West and Scholomance?

Both appear in the recorded Alliance Charger chain: Dire Maul West for the spirit blessing and Scholomance for the final scryer encounter. The Forsaken chain’s full dungeon requirements remain unverified.

Does the Paladin Epic Mount service level my character to 60?

The general Paladin Epic Mount Boost is for an eligible Level 60 character and covers the selected quest chain, not leveling. The separate Forsaken Charger offer has a combined Leveling + questline selection. Check the configured package and eligible race before paying.

What if I’ve already completed some quests or own the materials?

Continue from your active quest log, keep any required soul, barding and scryer items, and subtract owned materials from your shopping list. If you use a service, report your quest progress before arranging the remaining work.

Does buying the Forsaken Charger service also unlock the Alliance Charger?

No. Both services describe a mount unlock on a suitable Paladin character; one order does not award two faction-specific summons. Compare the offer scopes and choose only the one you need.
