Arcane Mage is an S-tier ranged DPS for Mythic+ in WoW Midnight Season 2. Patch 12.1 gave the spec stronger priority damage, a new Apex Talent, better charge recovery, and a more useful defensive tree. Sunfury is the recommended Hero Talent for both dungeons and raids.
The S-tier label needs context. Arcane entered Season 2 in S+ for Mythic+, while its general raid position is closer to A+. Live Heroic logs already place it in S tier on selected Venomous Abyss bosses, but complete Mythic data is still limited. The spec is strongest when enemies stay grouped and one target needs to die before the rest of the pull.
Current data: Patch 12.1, Midnight Season 2, The Venomous Abyss raid and Season 2 Mythic+, reviewed August 21, 2026 after the August 20 class hotfix.
Midnight Arcane Mage Season 2 at a Glance
| Category | Patch 12.1 Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Role | Ranged spell DPS with burst, funnel damage, and clustered AoE. |
| Mythic+ Tier | S+ at the start of Midnight Season 2. |
| Raid Tier | A+ overall, with S-tier results on selected Heroic bosses. |
| Best Hero Talent | Sunfury for raid, Mythic+, and most PvE content. |
| Stat Priority | Intellect > Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility. |
| Main Cooldowns | Arcane Surge every 90 seconds and Touch of the Magi every 45 seconds. |
| Main Resources | Mana, Arcane Charges, Arcane Salvo, Clearcasting, and Cumulative Power with the four-piece set. |
| Best Damage Profile | Priority-target damage inside grouped pulls, single-target burst, and five-target cleave. |
| Main Weakness | Spread enemies, missed cooldown timing, and long periods of unavoidable damage. |
Arcane is harder to play than a basic builder-spender spec. Most damage comes from correct Barrage timing, full use of Clearcasting procs, and keeping Arcane Surge aligned with every second Touch of the Magi.

Is Arcane Mage S Tier in Midnight Season 2?
Yes, Arcane Mage is an S-tier Mythic+ specialization in Midnight Season 2. Icy Veins placed it in S+ before the first week of live keys. Arcane also opened the season near the top of live damage rankings across keys at level 7 and above.
Its Mythic+ value comes from funnel damage. Arcane can attack a dangerous caster or lieutenant while Arcane Barrage and Prismatic Bolt damage the rest of the pack. This is often more useful than padding the meter with equal damage across enemies that are not threatening the group.
Arcane also brings Arcane Intellect, Time Warp, Counterspell, Remove Curse, Spellsteal, and Supernova. A five-player group is more likely to use this toolkit than a raid with several overlapping buffs and utility spells.
Raid performance is less uniform. Arcane was ranked A+ for general Venomous Abyss progression before live Mythic logs became available. Early Heroic data shows S-tier results on bosses such as Nek’zali the Soulcoiler and Vashnik the Malignant. That does not make Arcane the best choice for every boss. Spread targets and repeated movement can reduce its value.
What Changed for Arcane Mage in Patch 12.1?
Patch 12.1 replaced Touch of the Archmage with Prismatic Bolt, redesigned Arcane Pulse, changed Orb Mastery, and returned Arcane Missiles to the main rotation. Blizzard also added new defensive options to the Mage class tree.
| Change | Patch 12.1 Version | Effect on Arcane Mage |
|---|---|---|
| Prismatic Bolt | New four-point Arcane Apex Talent triggered by Arcane Barrage. | Adds a large single-target and five-target hit, restores four Arcane Charges, and can grant Clearcasting. |
| Touch of the Archmage | Removed from the Arcane tree. | The rotation now places more weight on Arcane Salvo and Prismatic Bolt procs. |
| Arcane Pulse | Two-second cast, eight-yard radius, and 15-second cooldown. | Generates one Arcane Charge per enemy hit and can rebuild all four charges in a grouped pull. |
| Orb Mastery | Arcane Orb launches two extra orbs at 50% strength. | No longer consumes Clearcasting, so Arcane Missiles can use those procs. |
| Refractive Images | New defensive talent connected to Mirror Image. | Gives the spec another planned damage-reduction window. |
| Season 2 Tier Set | Built around Arcane Missiles and Cumulative Power. | Makes Clearcasting more valuable and rewards a Missiles cast before Prismatic Bolt. |
August 20 Arcane Mage Hotfix
Blizzard increased all Arcane ability damage by 3% on August 20. The same hotfix reduced the Venomous Abyss two-piece Arcane Missiles bonus from 20% to 5%. The four-piece Cumulative Power bonus fell from 5% to 3% per stack, with its maximum reduced from 40% to 24%.
This was a power shift from the tier set into the base specialization. Arcane still wants four set, but characters without a complete set are less far behind than they were under the original tuning.
The exact changes are available in Blizzard’s August 20 hotfix notes and the main Curse of Ula’tek content update notes.
How Arcane Mage Works in Midnight
Arcane Mage builds four Arcane Charges and stores Arcane Salvo before spending both through Arcane Barrage. Clearcasting allows Arcane Missiles, which supplies more Salvo stacks. A large Barrage can trigger Prismatic Bolt and immediately return four charges.
| Resource | Maximum | How It Affects the Rotation |
|---|---|---|
| Arcane Charges | 4 | Increase Arcane Blast damage and Mana cost. They also increase Arcane Barrage damage. |
| Arcane Salvo | 25 with Sunfury, 20 with Spellslinger | Increases Arcane Barrage damage and the chance to trigger Prismatic Bolt. |
| Clearcasting | Proc-based | Allows Arcane Missiles and helps build Arcane Salvo without paying the normal Mana cost. |
| Mana | Affected by Mastery | Controls how long Arcane Blast can be cast at four charges before Barrage or a recovery cooldown is required. |
| Cumulative Power | 24% with four set | Arcane Missiles strengthens the next Arcane Blast, Arcane Pulse, or Prismatic Bolt. |
Fully invested Prismatic Bolt gives Arcane Barrage a 2% proc chance for each Arcane Salvo stack consumed. A 20-stack Barrage has a 40% chance to trigger it. Sunfury raises the Salvo cap to 25, so a full Barrage reaches a 50% proc chance.
Prismatic Bolt damages the main target and nearby enemies, with reduced damage beyond five targets. It generates four Arcane Charges and can be held for up to one minute. With the four-piece set, try to put Cumulative Power into Prismatic Bolt when the proc can be held safely.
Best Arcane Mage Talents for Season 2
Sunfury is the best Arcane Mage Hero Talent in Patch 12.1. It leads Spellslinger in raid damage and keeps much better single-target damage in Mythic+ without losing its AoE profile.
Sunfury vs Spellslinger
| Hero Talent | Main Advantage | Current Limit | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunfury | Higher single-target damage, 25 Salvo stacks, Arcane Phoenix, and Arcane Soul. | Requires more Salvo and post-Surge tracking. | Raid, Mythic+, Delves, and general PvE. |
| Spellslinger | Passive Arcane Splinter damage and additional Salvo generation. | Lower damage in current raid and dungeon builds. | Playable alternative for players who prefer its rotation. |
Sunfury summons an Arcane Phoenix during Arcane Surge. When Surge ends, Arcane Soul changes Arcane Barrage for a short period. Barrage returns four Arcane Charges, grants Clearcasting, generates five Salvo stacks, and stops consuming existing Salvo stacks. This creates a fast Barrage sequence at the end of the main cooldown window.
Best Arcane Mage Raid Build
This Sunfury raid build keeps strong single-target damage and useful cleave. A pure single-target version can gain a small amount on a boss with no adds, but the regular raid build is safer for progression.

Best Arcane Mage Mythic+ Build
The Sunfury Mythic+ build uses the same Barrage and Prismatic Bolt loop while adding reliable charge recovery for dungeon pulls. It gives up little boss damage for its AoE tools.

Arcane Mage Rotation in Patch 12.1
The Arcane Mage rotation is a priority list. The important decisions are when to spend Arcane Salvo, how to rebuild four Arcane Charges, and when to hold Prismatic Bolt for Cumulative Power.
Arcane Mage Opener
| Step | Spell | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Long-duration trinket or potion | Use effects that last at least 15 seconds before Arcane Surge. |
| 2 | Arcane Surge | Pre-cast Arcane Surge so the spell lands as the boss is pulled. |
| 3 | Short stat effects | Use short-duration potions, racials, or on-use trinkets. |
| 4 | Arcane Missiles | Consume Clearcasting and begin building Arcane Salvo. |
| 5 | Arcane Barrage | Fire Barrage after Missiles. |
| 6 | Touch of the Magi | Apply Touch before the travelling Arcane Barrage hits the target. |
Touch of the Magi has a 45-second cooldown. Arcane Surge has a 90-second cooldown. Use one Touch between Surge casts, then align the next Touch with Arcane Surge. Delaying the middle Touch also delays the next complete burn window.
Single-Target Rotation Priority
| Priority | Spell | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prismatic Bolt | Use it with Cumulative Power when possible. Do not let the one-minute proc expire. |
| 2 | Arcane Barrage | Spend at four Arcane Charges and maximum Arcane Salvo when the next charge cycle is ready. |
| 3 | Arcane Missiles | Use Clearcasting before Arcane Salvo reaches its cap. |
| 4 | Arcane Barrage during Arcane Soul | Barrage repeatedly while Arcane Soul returns charges and preserves Salvo. |
| 5 | Arcane Orb | Use it to recover from zero Arcane Charges after Barrage. |
| 6 | Evocation | Use at low Mana outside Arcane Surge and Touch of the Magi. |
| 7 | Arcane Blast | Use as the main filler and single-target charge generator. |
| 8 | Arcane Barrage | Spend early if there is not enough Mana for another Arcane Blast. |
Arcane Mage AoE Rotation
The Patch 12.1 Arcane AoE rotation is close to the single-target priority. Arcane Barrage and Prismatic Bolt already provide most of the spec’s cleave.
| AoE Action | When to Use It |
|---|---|
| Arcane Pulse | Cast when below four Arcane Charges. Hitting four enemies immediately restores all charges. |
| Arcane Orb | Use on cooldown in grouped pulls for charge and Salvo generation. |
| Arcane Barrage | Spend at 12 or more Salvo stacks when Arcane Orb or Clearcasting can rebuild the next cycle. |
| Prismatic Bolt | Aim the main hit at the priority enemy while nearby targets receive cleave damage. |
| Arcane Explosion | Fill charge-generation gaps when enemies are in melee range and Pulse or Orb cannot cover the cycle. |
How to Manage Arcane Mage Mana
Arcane Charges raise Arcane Blast’s damage and Mana cost. Staying at four charges gives better damage, but repeated Blasts empty the Mana bar quickly. Arcane Barrage resets the charges and lowers the cost of the next build cycle.
Arcane Surge drains current Mana, then gives enough regeneration to refill the bar during its effect. After the opener, it is usually better to enter Surge at lower Mana instead of saving a full bar for the direct hit. The damage gained from casting Surge at full Mana is smaller than the value of using more four-charge Arcane Blasts before it.
Evocation is the backup recovery tool when talented. Do not channel it during Touch of the Magi or Arcane Surge. A cancelled Evocation can leave the next burn short on Mana.
Arcane Mage Stat Priority for Season 2
The general Arcane Mage stat priority in Patch 12.1 is Intellect > Haste > Critical Strike > Mastery > Versatility. Secondary stats are close enough that a higher-item-level piece can beat an item with the preferred two stats.
| Stat | Effect | Season 2 Value |
|---|---|---|
| Intellect | Raises Spell Power and the damage of every Arcane ability. | Primary stat and first priority. |
| Haste | Reduces cast time and fits more spells into important damage windows. | Best general secondary stat. |
| Critical Strike | Adds a chance for damaging spells to deal critical damage. | Strong after Haste in the general Sunfury setup. |
| Mastery | Raises the Mana pool, Mana regeneration, and Arcane damage through Savant. | Useful for longer four-charge cycles. |
| Versatility | Increases damage and reduces incoming damage. | Usually lowest for damage, but useful in high keys. |
There is no fixed Haste cap for Arcane Mage. All secondary stats have diminishing returns, and a low stat can gain value as the rest of the character changes. Run Raidbots Top Gear before replacing a high-item-level item based only on this priority.
Arcane Mage Season 2 Tier Set
The Arcane Mage Season 2 set is Primal Leywarden’s Attire. Its bonuses push Clearcasting and Arcane Missiles back into the main damage loop.
| Bonus | Live Patch 12.1 Effect | Rotation Impact |
|---|---|---|
| 2-Piece | Arcane Missiles fires one additional wave and deals 5% more damage. | Raises the value of every Clearcasting proc. |
| 4-Piece | Each Arcane Missiles wave increases the next Arcane Blast, Arcane Pulse, or Prismatic Bolt by 3%, stacking to 24%. | Rewards Missiles before a large Prismatic Bolt or another qualifying cast. |
Getting any four tier pieces is more important than waiting for the perfect slots. The Matrix Catalyst preserves item level, secondary stats, and eligible special effects in Season 2. This makes high-item-level raid and Great Vault pieces valuable Catalyst targets.
Arcane Mage BiS Gear for Midnight Season 2
Arcane Mage best-in-slot gear comes from The Venomous Abyss, Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons, the Great Vault, and crafted items. This table is an endgame target. Use a character simulation before replacing an upgraded Myth-track item.
| Slot | Best-in-Slot Item | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Head | Venomkeeper’s Horrific Cowl | Ula’tek |
| Neck | Aqirbane Reliquary | Ula’tek |
| Shoulders | Primal Leywarden’s Manaflux | The Twin Fangs and Matrix Catalyst |
| Cloak | Silken Voodoo Drape | The Coiled Altar |
| Chest | Crest of the Primal Leywarden | Altar of Fangs and Matrix Catalyst |
| Wrist | Martyr’s Bindings with Arcanoweave Lining | Tailoring |
| Hands | Primal Leywarden’s Manashapers | The Coiled Altar and Matrix Catalyst |
| Waist | Caustic Chain-Wrapped Sash | Sszorak |
| Legs | Primal Leywarden’s Tailored Legwraps | Nek’zali the Soulcoiler and Matrix Catalyst |
| Feet | Cackling Soultreads | The Coiled Altar |
| Ring 1 | Alluring Bubbleband | Nek’zali the Soulcoiler |
| Ring 2 | Pilfered Precious Band | Den of Nalorakk |
| Trinket 1 | Freightrunner’s Flask | Murder Row and Great Vault for Myth track |
| Trinket 2 | Gebbo’s Bottomless Bag | The Lost Explorers |
| Main Hand | Jan’thrazet, the Soul Fang | Ula’tek |
| Off Hand | Aln’hara Lantern with Hunter’s Ritual Stone | Inscription |
Jan’thrazet, the Soul Fang is the main raid target. Its higher item level and special effect put it ahead of normal caster weapons. Take it from the Great Vault if it appears in a high Myth-track slot.
Freightrunner’s Flask is the preferred on-use trinket. Gebbo’s Bottomless Bag is the best passive option. Vile Vial of Volatile Venom and Wavecaller’s Seastone are useful alternatives when the BiS pair is unavailable.
For early crafting, make Aln’hara Cane with Hunter’s Ritual Stone if a Myth-track weapon is not expected soon. Craft Martyr’s Bindings with Arcanoweave Lining next. Once Jan’thrazet or another high-level weapon is secured, move Hunter’s Ritual Stone to Aln’hara Lantern.
You can use our WoW gearing service if you need help collecting raid, Mythic+, crafted, or Great Vault gear for an Arcane Mage.
Best Arcane Mage Gems and Enchants
| Slot | Recommended Enhancement | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Epic Gem, 5+ sockets | Powerful Eversong Diamond | Use one of each required gem color to support it. |
| Epic Gem, fewer than 5 sockets | Indecipherable Eversong Diamond | Better before the five-socket setup is complete. |
| Rare Gems | Flawless Quick Amethyst | Safe Haste default when a simulation is unavailable. |
| Weapon | Acuity of the Ren’dorei | Main damage enchant. |
| Weapon Oil | Thalassian Phoenix Oil | Use in all PvE content. |
| Chest | Mark of the Worldsoul | Main chest enchant. |
| Legs | Arcanoweave Spellthread | Caster leg enhancement. |
| Rings | Eyes of the Eagle | Use on both rings. |
| Head | Empowered Blessing of Speed | Movement enchant with no direct damage increase. |
| Shoulders | Akil’zon’s Swiftness | Speed can be replaced by Avoidance for dangerous progression fights. |
| Feet | Farstrider’s Hunt | Helps cover movement without spending Shimmer. |
Best Arcane Mage Consumables
| Consumable Type | Best General Option | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Flask | Flask of the Blood Knights | Safe default, though another secondary-stat flask can sim slightly higher. |
| Combat Potion | Light’s Potential | Pair with Arcane Surge and short stat effects. |
| Health Potion | Concentrated Silvermoon Health Potion | Emergency personal healing. |
| Food | Silvermoon Parade | Use Hearty Silvermoon Parade during wipe-heavy progression. |
| Augment Rune | Void-Touched Augment Rune | Worth roughly 1% DPS in difficult content. |
How to Play Arcane Mage in Mythic+
Arcane Mage is strongest when the tank groups enemies and gives the spec enough time to build Salvo. Short pulls can die before Arcane reaches its best Barrage cycle. Large pulls with a durable priority enemy are the ideal setup.
Plan Arcane Surge around the route. Using every cooldown on two weak enemies can leave the next large pull without Touch, Surge, Arcane Phoenix, or an on-use trinket. Ask the tank about major pulls before the key starts.
| Mage Tool | Mythic+ Use |
|---|---|
| Arcane Intellect | Raises Intellect for the Mage, healers, and other caster DPS. |
| Time Warp | Covers Bloodlust for boss fights or planned dungeon pulls. |
| Counterspell | Stops dangerous casts from range without leaving the damage position. |
| Supernova | Interrupts several enemies and can stop casts that normal interrupts cannot cover. |
| Remove Curse | Removes eligible Curse effects from the Mage or another party member. |
| Spellsteal | Removes eligible Magic buffs from enemies and transfers the effect to the Mage. |
| Polymorph | Controls a dangerous enemy before combat or during a failed pull. |
Arcane Pulse has an eight-yard radius, so positioning matters. Stand close enough to hit the full group without placing yourself in front of cleaves or ground effects. Prismatic Bolt also loses part of its value when enemies are spread away from the main target.
For the current position of Arcane and other DPS specs, see our Midnight Season 2 Mythic+ DPS tier list.
How to Play Arcane Mage in The Venomous Abyss
Arcane Mage brings strong boss damage and can funnel from adds into the main target. It works best on encounters where targets stay close enough for Arcane Barrage and Prismatic Bolt cleave.
Apply Touch of the Magi to a target that will remain alive for its full duration. A Touch placed on a dying add wastes the stored damage. Keep on-use trinkets aligned with Arcane Surge unless a boss mechanic requires a separate burst window.
Movement should be planned before Surge. Shimmer can be used while casting, but repeated movement still removes Arcane Blast casts and can break the opener. Presence of Mind is best saved for forced movement when Arcane Blast must continue.
Arcane’s current raid position is below its Mythic+ placement because Arcane Intellect and Time Warp can come from Fire or Frost Mage. Raid leaders judge Arcane mainly by its damage profile, defensive use, and fit for the boss.
Our Midnight Season 2 raid DPS rankings track Arcane after live class tuning. You can also check the Venomous Abyss raid guide for the boss list, loot, tier tokens, and Season 2 rewards.
Arcane Mage Defensives and Movement
| Ability | Use | Common Error |
|---|---|---|
| Prismatic Barrier | Apply before predictable damage for a frequent personal absorb. | Casting after the hit has already landed. |
| Alter Time | Store health and position before damage, then return after the mechanic. | Returning to an unsafe location or using it at low health. |
| Mirror Image | Combines with Refractive Images for a planned reduction window. | Treating it only as a damage spell. |
| Ice Cold or Ice Block | Covers major lethal damage or selected encounter mechanics. | Using the long cooldown on damage that Barrier could cover. |
| Shimmer or Blink | Reposition quickly without walking through several casts. | Spending both charges before a required movement mechanic. |
| Presence of Mind | Allows Arcane Blast to continue during movement. | Using it while standing still with no mechanic approaching. |
Most Mage defensives work best before damage. Arcane has limited self-healing after a large hit, so boss timers and dungeon ability trackers have a direct effect on survival.
Common Arcane Mage Mistakes
| Mistake | How to Fix It |
|---|---|
| Casting Arcane Barrage with low Salvo stacks | Build Salvo with Arcane Missiles and other generators before the main Barrage. |
| Using Arcane Missiles near the Salvo cap | Spend Barrage before additional Salvo generation is wasted. |
| Spending Prismatic Bolt with no Cumulative Power | Use Arcane Missiles first when the proc can be held safely. |
| Delaying the middle Touch of the Magi | Use Touch at 45 seconds so the next cast remains aligned with Arcane Surge. |
| Using Touch on a dying enemy | Apply it to the boss or another target that will survive the full effect. |
| Starting Arcane Surge during movement | Reach the safe position before the main cooldown window begins. |
| Using Prismatic Barrier after damage | Track encounter timers and cast the absorb before the hit. |
| Forcing the same cooldown plan in every dungeon | Adjust Arcane Surge timing to the tank’s pull route and boss timings. |
Best Addons for Arcane Mage
| Addon or Tool | Arcane Mage Use |
|---|---|
| WeakAuras | Tracks Arcane Salvo, Clearcasting, Prismatic Bolt, Cumulative Power, Arcane Soul, and cooldown alignment. |
| BigWigs or DBM | Shows incoming mechanics so Prismatic Barrier, Alter Time, and movement can be planned. |
| Details | Checks damage sources, deaths, interrupts, and cooldown performance after a pull. |
| SimulationCraft and Raidbots | Compares gear, trinkets, gems, enchants, and talent setups for the current character. |
Should You Play Arcane Mage in Season 2?
Play Arcane Mage if you want a ranged DPS built around planned cooldowns, priority damage, and resource control. The spec is one of the best current choices for Mythic+ and remains competitive for Venomous Abyss progression.
Arcane is a poor fit for someone who wants a fixed rotation with little tracking. Missed Barrage timing, wasted Salvo stacks, and a bad Touch target can remove a large part of the spec’s damage. Its live ranking assumes the player understands those interactions.
The August 20 hotfix did not remove Arcane from the Season 2 meta. Blizzard reduced the tier set and moved some of that power into a 3% baseline buff. Future tuning can still change the gap between Arcane, Frost, and Fire.

FAQ
Is Arcane Mage good in WoW Midnight Season 2?
Yes. Arcane Mage is an S-tier Mythic+ ranged DPS in Patch 12.1. It has strong priority damage, clustered AoE, funnel damage, Time Warp, Arcane Intellect, and useful dungeon control. Its general raid position is closer to A+.
What is the best Arcane Mage Hero Talent in Patch 12.1?
Sunfury is the best Arcane Mage Hero Talent for raids and Mythic+. It deals more single-target damage than Spellslinger, raises the Arcane Salvo cap to 25, summons an Arcane Phoenix, and grants Arcane Soul after Arcane Surge.
What is the Arcane Mage stat priority in Season 2?
The general stat priority is Intellect, Haste, Critical Strike, Mastery, and Versatility. The secondary stats are close in value, so use Raidbots before replacing a higher-item-level piece.
What is Prismatic Bolt?
Prismatic Bolt is the new Arcane Mage Apex Talent in Patch 12.1. Arcane Barrage can trigger it by consuming Arcane Salvo. The spell damages the target and nearby enemies, generates four Arcane Charges, and can grant Clearcasting.
What are the Arcane Mage Season 2 tier bonuses?
The live two-piece bonus gives Arcane Missiles one additional wave and 5% more damage. The four-piece bonus makes each Missiles wave increase the next Arcane Blast, Arcane Pulse, or Prismatic Bolt by 3%, up to 24%.
Did the August 20 hotfix nerf Arcane Mage?
Blizzard reduced both Venomous Abyss tier bonuses but increased all Arcane ability damage by 3%. The change moved damage out of the set and into the base specialization. Arcane remained a top Mythic+ option after the hotfix.
Is Arcane Mage hard to play?
Arcane has a higher learning curve than many ranged DPS specs. Players must track Mana, four Arcane Charges, Arcane Salvo, Clearcasting, Prismatic Bolt, Cumulative Power, and two cooldown cycles. The basic loop becomes manageable once Barrage timing is understood.
When should Arcane Mage use Arcane Barrage?
Use Arcane Barrage at four Arcane Charges with high or maximum Arcane Salvo when the next charge cycle can be rebuilt. Arcane Pulse, Arcane Orb, Clearcasting, and Prismatic Bolt can all help restore charges after the spend.
What is the best Arcane Mage weapon in Season 2?
Jan’thrazet, the Soul Fang from Ula’tek is the best Arcane Mage weapon. Its item level and special effect put it ahead of normal Season 2 caster weapons. Aln’hara Cane with Hunter’s Ritual Stone is a good early crafted option.
What are the best Arcane Mage trinkets?
Freightrunner’s Flask from Murder Row is the preferred on-use trinket. Gebbo’s Bottomless Bag from The Lost Explorers is the best passive option. Vile Vial of Volatile Venom and Wavecaller’s Seastone are useful alternatives.
Is Arcane Mage better in raid or Mythic+?
Arcane currently ranks higher in Mythic+. It is S tier or better in dungeon rankings and A+ in the general raid ranking. Individual Venomous Abyss bosses can still place Arcane in S tier when its damage profile fits the encounter.
Does Arcane Mage still manage Mana in Midnight?
Yes. Arcane Blast becomes expensive at four Arcane Charges. Arcane Barrage resets those charges, Arcane Surge supplies a large regeneration window, and Evocation can restore Mana outside the main cooldowns.
