1. Preservation Evoker – Best Overall Raid Healer
Preservation Evoker remains the strongest complete raid healer in Patch 12.1. Temporal Anomaly helps establish Echo coverage, while Reversion, Dream Breath, and Emerald Blossom give the spec several ways to answer sustained or repeated raid damage.
Rewind is a major part of its S-tier case. It gives Preservation a powerful raid recovery cooldown, while Zephyr adds group mitigation against area damage and Time Spiral gives the raid another movement tool. Preservation also has strong personal durability through two charges of Obsidian Scales.
The limitations have not disappeared. Evoker’s shorter healing range becomes awkward when a fight forces the raid to spread, and its spot healing is weaker than the best priority-target healers. Long encounters can also expose mana problems.
Current live data supports keeping Preservation at the top, but the reason is broader than HPS. Its combination of throughput, frequent healing windows, raid cooldowns, and durability gives it the fewest serious weaknesses in The Venomous Abyss.

The Venomous Abyss set works with Penance and Void Shield, giving Discipline more value between its larger ramps. Voidweaver remains the most common Hero Talent in current raid data.
Power Word: Fortitude, Power Infusion, and Pain Suppression strengthen the case for a Priest even when another healer produces more raw HPS. Pain Suppression is especially useful for tanks and mechanic targets that need a strong external defensive.
The weaknesses are familiar. Discipline is sensitive to movement during important ramps, has weaker reactive spot healing, and is less durable than several other healers. The reason Holy Paladin moves from A tier in the old version to B tier now is its overall raid-healing profile. It can fall behind the leading healers on repeated raid-wide throughput, while Beacon of Virtue and other expensive spells put pressure on mana.
This does not make Holy Paladin weak. Current Heroic data still shows heavy Paladin representation and competitive healing. The tier reflects the complete raid package relative to the four specs above it.

6. Restoration Druid – Best Flexible HoT Healer

Rejuvenation remains central to its raid setup, with Abundance creating stronger Regrowth windows. Convoke the Spirits and Tranquility cover larger healing events, while the Venomous Abyss four-piece adds Genesis value to the cooldown cycle. Lifebloom and Everbloom contribute sustained healing between those windows.
Stampeding Roar is useful raid movement support, Ironbark gives Druid an external defensive, and Bear Form helps with personal survival. Mark of the Wild can also make Restoration an efficient way to bring the raid buff when another Druid is absent.
The recent healing increase helps, but it does not automatically solve Druid’s position relative to the A-tier specs. Its throughput is more competitive now, while mana and cast-heavy Regrowth windows still need planning.

Mistweaver also moves well and has enough personal tools to handle most raid mechanics. Its problem is still what it adds to a roster beyond healing. Mystic Touch can be supplied by another Monk, and Mistweaver lacks an equivalent to Spirit Link Totem, Aura Mastery, Pain Suppression, or the stronger raid-cooldown package of Preservation.
The extra tuning has made the spec more competitive, but current live data does not give enough reason to move it above the other six healers.

Why Warcraft Logs Healing Rankings Need Context
Warcraft Logs is one of the best ways to check live raid performance, but healing rankings should not be read like DPS rankings.
A healer can record more HPS because the raid took more damage. A four-healer group has more available healing per player than a five-healer group. Short kill times change cooldown usage. Gear changes the result. Absorbs and damage reduction can save a player without creating the same visible healing pattern as a large reactive heal.
For useful comparisons, look at the same boss and difficulty, then check healer count, deaths, overhealing, cooldown timing, remaining mana, damage prevented, and raid composition.
