The Division 2 Escalation Boost Requirements
Check your character and mission access before ordering.
- A level 40 character with the main campaign completed.
- Access to the selected mission in the current Escalation rotation. Tell support if that mission is locked on your character.
- Every player needs an Escalation Token balance matching the selected tier: 1 for Tier 1, 5 for Tier 5 or 10 for Tier 10.
Starting a run does not spend these tokens. Keep the required balance when buying vendor caches; if you spend below the threshold, earn more tokens before joining that tier.
What Comes With an Escalation Run
Complete your selected tiers and collect their rewards. Loot Traders add shareable drops from other squad members; the number and rolls of Prototype items vary from run to run.

How Loot Traders x4 Works
You keep your personal loot from each run. Add 1–3 loot traders to receive their shareable drops as well. The x1–x4 labels count you plus the selected traders, not a guaranteed loot multiplier.

The number of Prototype items varies from run to run. Loot traders share the drops they can trade, but a specific item, Augment or stat roll is not guaranteed.
How the Escalation Carry Works
Choose your tier and runs, then collect the loot from completed missions.
Prototype Gear and Escalation Rewards
Prototype items have stronger attribute ranges than their High-End, Named and Gear Set versions and come with an Augment. Escalation is a main source of Prototype drops, with higher tiers offering better chances and stronger rolls.
Escalation is not the only way to get Prototype items. Eligible level 40 items at maximum Expertise can be converted to Prototype without fully optimizing them first. Prototype gear and weapons can also drop as contaminated loot in the Blackout Dark Zone.
Prototype items cannot be optimized or recalibrated, so check an item’s attributes before keeping or converting it. Augments can be rerolled or upgraded with Prototype Cores, mainly earned by dismantling Prototype items. Drops you do not keep can therefore help you improve the Augments on your other items.
What Changes at Higher Escalation Tiers
Higher tiers increase the challenge and rewards. Check the selected mission’s mutators before a run. Harvester, for example, restores an enemy’s Armor and Health when it deals damage; damaging that enemy with a grenade or applying any Status Effect disables the mutator.
Escalation has no checkpoints: a full group wipe or an expired mission timer fails the attempt. Each player needs a token balance matching the selected tier. Starting a run does not spend these tokens, even if the attempt fails or you disconnect. Tokens earned during completed runs no longer reset at the end of a season.
Completing more runs gives you more chances to find useful gear, while optional loot traders add their shareable drops. A specific Prototype item, Augment or stat roll is not guaranteed.
