WoW Forever First Aid Leveling Guide 1–300: Bandages, Potions & Materials

WoW Forever First Aid 1–300 guide artwork showing a healer bandaging a wounded warrior at a fantasy field camp, surrounded by healing potions and medical supplies.

The simplest way to level First Aid from 1 to 300 in WoW Forever is to craft bandages as your cloth supply improves. Start with Linen and Wool, switch to Silk and Mageweave, then finish with Runecloth. Buy the Expert book before you hit 150 and complete the Triage quest at 225 to unlock Artisan. This cloth-first plan avoids rare healing-potion manuals if the higher Artisan bandage recipes are available from your trainer in the live client; their final Forever teaching source still needs a launch check.

Forever adds a good reason to level the profession on every character: healing potions are now crafted through First Aid, not Alchemy. First Aid is a secondary profession, so you can learn it without replacing Mining, Engineering, or either of your other primary-profession choices. You can follow the basic bandage route or swap in potions and remedies when their materials are cheaper.

First Aid 1–300 at a Glance

RankSkill capWhat unlocks the next rank
Apprentice75Train with a First Aid trainer.
Journeyman150Return to a First Aid trainer from skill 50; do this before you reach 75.
Expert225Expert First Aid – Under Wraps book, usable from skill 125.
Artisan300Complete Triage at skill 225 and character level 35.

Your first decision: do you already have the cloth, want a self-play material kit, or prefer help leveling the profession? Pick one approach before buying everything. Yellow and green recipes do not always grant a point, and a supplied material kit does not automatically teach books or finish Triage.

First Aid 1–300 Shopping List

For the bandage-only route, plan around the following cloth amounts. These are working stock estimates, not exact requirements: how long you stay on a yellow or green recipe changes the total. The Runecloth estimate assumes the listed Artisan bandages are obtainable in the launch client. The higher end gives more room for unlucky skill-ups; buying in stages reduces the chance of paying for cloth you never use.

MaterialWorking rangeUsed for
Linen ClothApproximately 170–200Linen and Heavy Linen Bandages
Wool ClothApproximately 150–210Wool and Heavy Wool Bandages
Silk ClothApproximately 135–180Silk and Heavy Silk Bandages
Mageweave ClothApproximately 95–140Mageweave and Heavy Mageweave Bandages
RuneclothApproximately 75–100Runecloth and Heavy Runecloth Bandages

Also allow for three one-time unlocks: Expert First Aid – Under Wraps, Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage, and Manual: Mageweave Bandage. They come from the same faction vendors described below. The Artisan rank is earned through the Triage quest rather than another purchased manual.

Start by buying enough Linen to reach the next trainer checkpoint, then replenish cloth as you level. You can also farm cloth from level-appropriate humanoid enemies while questing; it is not necessary to stop progressing your character just to stockpile the complete 1–300 list.

Fast First Aid Leveling Route 1–300

Make the listed recipe until you reach the target skill, then switch. Learn each new pattern before crafting; reaching a skill number by itself does not teach the next bandage. The higher-level steps are a launch-planning route based on the Forever 1.60.1 recipe data, not a claim that a level-60 run has already been completed in the released game.

260–290Runecloth Bandage1 RuneclothCheck Artisan doctor at 260; final Forever trainer availability not confirmed
290–300Heavy Runecloth Bandage2 RuneclothCheck Artisan doctor at 290; final Forever trainer availability not confirmed

225–300 source check: The skill thresholds for Heavy Mageweave, Runecloth and Heavy Runecloth Bandages are present in Forever recipe data; Published leveling routes list the Artisan doctor as their teacher, but that exact trainer availability was not independently confirmed in beta. Before buying all the high-level cloth, check your Artisan doctor after Triage and review the latest trainer options in your client.

Watch the color: orange crafts increase skill reliably; yellow crafts can miss; green crafts are less consistent; gray crafts do not help. The route deliberately stays on some yellow recipes because they are easier to obtain than a rare book. If a potion or poultice recipe is orange and its ingredients cost less on your ruleset, using it for a few points is perfectly reasonable.

First Aid 1–75: Linen and Your First Potions

Learn Apprentice First Aid from a city or starting-zone trainer. Craft Linen Bandages to 40, then learn Heavy Linen Bandage. Two pieces of Linen Cloth make each Heavy Linen Bandage. Pick up Journeyman as soon as you qualify, rather than wasting crafts at the 75 cap.

If Linen Cloth is costly but Peacebloom is cheap, the Forever-specific ‘+a(‘minor’,’Minor Healing Potion’)+’ is an alternative from skill 1. Each craft needs one Peacebloom, one Empty Vial and one Mild Spices. Check the auction price of Peacebloom and the vendor supply costs before deciding; the potion does not consume your Tailoring or Alchemy profession slot.

First Aid 75–150: Wool, Bandages and Curatives

Finish any remaining Heavy Linen Bandages to 80, then craft Wool Bandages to 115 and Heavy Wool Bandages to 150. Both Wool recipes are learned from ordinary First Aid trainers. They are already yellow or become yellow early, so buy a buffer instead of assuming one Wool Cloth equals one skill point.

Forever gives you alternatives here too. ‘+a(‘lesser’,’Lesser Healing Potion’)+’ becomes available through trainers in this portion of the skill tree, and ‘+a(‘poultice’,’Simple Poultice’)+’ is a disease-removal recipe available at skill 90. Use these if you have the ingredients or need the finished products. The main route stays on Wool because you do not need to hunt a special manual.

First Aid 150–225: Where to Buy Expert and the Bandage Manuals

The biggest avoidable mistake at 150 is having the cloth but no rank upgrade. You need ‘+a(‘expert’,’Expert First Aid – Under Wraps’)+’ to raise your cap to 225. It can be used from 125 First Aid skill, so buying it early prevents a wasted trip. Pick up ‘+a(‘manual_silk’,’Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage’)+’ and ‘+a(‘manual_mage’,’Manual: Mageweave Bandage’)+’ at the same time.

FactionVendorWhere to go

HordeBalai Lok’WeinBrackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh — /way 36.4 30.4

The books are tradable, so check the Auction House if traveling to the vendor is inconvenient. You do not need all the newer, rarer poultice or potion manuals to finish this route.

At 150 make Silk Bandages; from 180 make Heavy Silk Bandages; at 210 switch to Mageweave Bandages. When you reach 225, stop and unlock Artisan through Triage. You can resume the same Mageweave recipe afterward until 240.

How to Unlock Artisan First Aid at 225: Triage

At character level 35 and First Aid skill 225, complete the ‘+a(‘triage_alliance’,’Triage quest’)+’ to raise your cap to 300. Faction capital trainers can direct you to the doctor, but you can also travel to the doctor directly.

Triage: How to Save the Patients

  1. Take the quest and put the provided Triage Bandages on an easy-to-reach action bar. These are the quest bandages, not the ones you crafted earlier.
  2. Stand where you can see the beds. Show friendly nameplates or patient health bars so new arrivals are easy to spot.
  3. Prioritize Critically Injured patients, then badly injured patients. Finishing a bandage channel matters more than starting three at once.
  4. Save 15 patients before six patients die. Do not walk away when the objective reaches 15; finish and turn in promptly.
  5. After gaining Artisan, check your doctor again as you reach skills 240, 260, and 290. Those are the documented recipe thresholds, but the final Forever teaching NPC for the three high-level bandages has not been independently confirmed.

If you reach 225 before level 35, the Artisan quest is not available yet. Keep the cloth you planned for higher ranks and continue leveling your character rather than crafting at the skill cap.

First Aid 225–300: Mageweave and Runecloth

After Triage, make Mageweave Bandages to 240. The planned next steps are Heavy Mageweave Bandage to 260, Runecloth Bandage to 290, and Heavy Runecloth Bandage to 300. These three patterns have the corresponding skill requirements in Forever data, and some guide databases identify the Artisan doctor as their teacher. However, the final teaching source is not yet independently verified in the Forever client. Check your Artisan doctor and profession window before purchasing the final Mageweave and Runecloth stacks.

If the three high-level bandages are offered by your trainer as expected, this route does not require Manual: Superior Healing Potion or Manual: Major Healing Potion. If the bandage patterns are not available, do not assume you can finish with them: first check updated trainer records and then compare any potion or curative manuals you actually possess. A manual you have not unlocked is not a viable fallback.

If Runecloth is expensive, compare the price of higher-rank healing potions or anti-venom materials only if you already own the corresponding manuals. Their actual affordability depends on server prices and drop availability; buying a rare manual simply to avoid a few stacks of cloth can cost more than it saves.

Healing Potions in WoW Forever: Why Alchemy Is Different

In Forever, healing potion production belongs to First Aid. That makes the profession more valuable even to a Mage, Priest or Druid who already has healing or defensive tools: the finished potion can be used by characters who have never trained First Aid. These potions complement bandages, which require a safe channel and apply Recently Bandaged.

Here are the six familiar healing-potion tiers and their basic recipe access. The potion’s crafting-skill requirement and the character level needed to drink it are different things.

First Aid recipeMinimum skillRecipe sourceReagents per craft
Minor Healing Potion1Trainer1 Peacebloom + 1 Empty Vial + 1 Mild Spices
Lesser Healing Potion55Trainer1 Briarthorn + 1 Empty Vial + 2 Mild Spices
Healing Potion110Trainer1 Bruiseweed + 1 Leaded Vial + 1 Hot Spices
Greater Healing Potion155Manual1 Liferoot + 1 Leaded Vial + 3 Hot Spices
Superior Healing Potion215Manual1 Sungrass + 1 Crystal Vial + 1 Soothing Spices
Major Healing Potion275Manual1 Golden Sansam + 1 Crystal Vial + 3 Soothing Spices

Buying ingredients: each potion combines a herb with a suitable vial and spices, as shown in the per-craft table. Check the current recipe before buying large batches because recipe details may still change at launch. Most importantly, the higher three potions need separate manuals; knowing First Aid 300 does not automatically grant every recipe.

New Curatives: Poultices, Tourniquets and Anti-Venom

Forever adds medical items that are more situational than a healing potion. Choose them by the harmful effect you want to remove; an anti-poison does not substitute for an anti-bleed item.

What you need to cureRelevant First Aid craftsRecipe access
DiseaseSimple Poultice (90), Clever Poultice (140), Superior Poultice (210), Powerful Poultice (280)Simple: trainer. Higher ranks: manuals.
BleedWoolen Tourniquet (120), Leather Tourniquet (200), Surgical Tourniquet (265)Woolen: trainer. Higher ranks: manuals.
PoisonAnti-Venom and later Potent Anti-Venom (215)Standard Anti-Venom: trainer; Potent: manual.

Poultices and tourniquets are mainly for cleaning up a debuff after a fight, because these two categories have out-of-combat restrictions. Anti-venoms can have a combat use. Check the cure’s maximum supported effect level; a low-rank remedy cannot clear every late-game poison or disease. Do not assume higher consumable tiers are automatically obtainable from a trainer.

First Aid Camping Items and Useful Legacy Perks

The skill is not limited to your bandage bag. At First Aid skill 20, you can learn ‘+a(‘kit’,’First Aid Kit’)+’, a Camping feature that grants nearby seated players a level-dependent Stamina bonus. Blizzard’s published rules say its buff is exclusive with Power Word: Fortitude. A basic campfire holds up to three contributed features, and profession camp features share a cooldown; see the complete ‘+a(‘lepre_camp’,’WoW Forever Camping guide’)+’ for placement and stacking rules.

Later First Aid features include ‘+a(‘study’,’Toxin Study’)+’ (skill 140, associated with Shadowfang Keep) and ‘+a(‘lab’,”Plague Doctor’s Laboratory”)+’ (skill 300, blueprint-based). These are optional profession objectives, not required for the bandage skill route. Their unlock sources should be checked separately from simply reaching the skill number.

One Legacy perk is especially relevant: Field Medicine reduces the duration of Recently Bandaged outside dungeons, raids and battlegrounds, up to 10 seconds at its available ranks. It improves overworld recovery, not your combat healing in instanced group content. Browse the ‘+a(‘lepre_legacy’,’WoW Forever Legacy System guide’)+’ for the complete perk system instead of planning your entire Legacy progression around one First Aid bonus.

Five First Aid Mistakes That Waste Materials

  1. Crafting at 75, 150, or 225 without learning the next rank. Check your skill cap before using a full stack of cloth.
  2. Buying a precise shopping list as a guarantee. Yellow and green recipes can consume more reagents than expected. Shop in batches or leave a buffer.
  3. Forgetting the three books. Expert First Aid – Under Wraps, Heavy Silk Bandage and Mageweave Bandage manuals come from the faction vendor; missing one creates an unnecessary detour.
  4. Assuming all healing potions are trainer recipes. The higher potions need manuals. The cloth-first route intentionally avoids them.
  5. Confusing crafted buffs with ordinary bandages. First Aid Kit is a Camping feature, not a bandage; specialized curatives have their own effect and combat-use restrictions.

WoW Forever First Aid FAQ

Is First Aid worth leveling if my class can heal?

Yes. It uses a secondary profession slot, provides its own bandages and healing potion production, and does not replace either primary profession. Even healers may value the craftable consumables and camp utility.

Can I reach 300 First Aid without rare potion manuals?

The cloth-first plan needs the three standard First Aid books and Triage, not the rare potion manuals, provided the three high-level Artisan bandages are available from your trainer. Their exact teaching source has not been confirmed in the live Forever client, so verify that before stocking Runecloth.

Where do I learn First Aid after 150?

Buy Expert First Aid – Under Wraps from Deneb Walker (Alliance) in Arathi Highlands or Balai Lok’Wein (Horde) in Dustwallow Marsh. Buy Heavy Silk and Mageweave manuals on the same trip.

Where do I get Artisan First Aid after 225?

At character level 35 and 225 First Aid, complete Triage with Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore (Alliance) or Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall (Horde).

Can Alchemy still make regular Healing Potions in WoW Forever?

The familiar Minor-through-Major Healing Potion recipes were moved into First Aid in Forever. Alchemy keeps a different set of consumable options, so do not follow an ordinary Classic Alchemy leveling guide as if the recipes had stayed unchanged.

Does a First Aid material kit include Triage and all recipe manuals?

No. The LepreStore Profession Kits offer supplies the selected route’s materials; profession training, quest requirements and manuals are separate. Confirm the kit’s current options before ordering.

Once you know which materials your character needs, First Aid is a straightforward companion to ‘+a(‘lepre_level’,’leveling 1–60′)+’: train at each cap, craft in manageable batches, and keep a few usable bandages and potions instead of selling everything you make.
