Valeera Sanguinar in WoW Midnight Delves

Valeera Sanguinar is Midnight’s Delve companion, taking over from Brann Bronzebeard, who accompanied players throughout The War Within. She is a returning character whom Rogue players may remember as one of the Uncrowned’s champions from the Legion Order Hall campaign.

Valeera automatically joins you when you enter a Delve alone or with a group of up to four players. She does not appear when the party already has five players. This makes Delves a viable solo and small-group activity without having to wait for an LFG group or rely on random teammates.

You can switch Valeera between Damage Dealer, Tank, and Healer roles through the Explorers’ League Supplies found inside Delves or through the Delves interface. Choose Tank if you need someone to hold enemy attention, Healer if you need additional sustain, or Damage Dealer if survivability is not a problem and you want faster clears.

Valeera earns companion XP as you complete Delves. Her maximum level has increased from 60 to 80 in Midnight Season 2. Each level improves her role-specific combat bonuses, including damage, healing, or survivability. Her overall strength also scales with your character’s item level, so gearing yourself remains important.

Valeera can equip one Combat Curio and one Utility Curio. Midnight Season 2 introduces a completely new Curio set, which must be collected and upgraded again. Each Curio has four ranks, with stronger versions available from higher-tier Delves.

Combat Curios

•           Corrosive Bilespear         : Valeera can impale nearby targets for heavy Nature damage. The effect deals additional damage to Poisoned enemies.
•           Essence Trap         : Valeera places traps that activate when enemies approach, slowing them before exploding for Nature damage and stunning targets caught inside.
•           Ouroboric Curse         : When a player falls below 50% health, nearby enemies are Horrified while the affected player temporarily gains increased Primary Stat, Leech, Avoidance, and Speed. Killing Poisoned enemies reduces the effect’s cooldown.

Utility Curios

•           Dundun’s Favor         : Mislaid Spirits can appear during combat. Walking over a Mislaid Spirit or Mislaid Curiosity launches Volatile Sprites at nearby enemies and automatically collects the Curiosity.
•           Soul-Cracking Dreamcatcher         : Interrupting or crowd-controlling an Elite enemy causes it to take increased damage. At higher ranks, the effect becomes stronger and can also affect nearby enemies.
•           Venom Infusion         : Party members periodically lose a small amount of current health but gain Movement Speed and Haste based on their missing health, creating a risk-and-reward option for faster clears.

Valeera’s Poisons in Midnight Season 2

Midnight Season 2 also gives Valeera a separate Poison slot. Poisons are no longer locked to a particular role, allowing you to combine any Poison with her Tank, Healer, or Damage Dealer setup.

Three Poisons are available immediately:

•           Bloodcrypt Toxin         : Reduces the damage and Haste of enemies struck by poisoned weapons.
•           Poison of the Forgotten Master         : Gradually increases damage while you remain in combat without taking damage.
•           Soulthirst Venom         : Increases Leech, Avoidance, and Speed.

Three additional Poisons become available after completing the Season 2 introductory questline beginning with Seasonal Refresher: Midnight:

•           Bursting Toad Toxin         : Attacks can make enemies erupt in poison, dealing Nature damage to nearby targets.
•           Frostheart Venom         : Slows enemy movement, attacks, and spellcasting.
•           Phantasmal Spore Toxin         :Attacks can interrupt and briefly Fear enemies.
