WoW Professions Boost

Professions are secondary skills in WoW your brave adventurer can pick up to forage and produce all sorts of different things. For example, you can catch some fish in between quests and cook it, or scavenge some leather and make a pair of boots out of it. World of Warcraft has had professions for a very long time, and they’ve always been an important part of the game. Professions present several opportunities to your character, and should not be ignored.

• First of all, professions boost let you earn gold. You can collect resources from the world and turn them into useful things. They sell for a decent chunk of change on the Auction House.
• You can also use a lot of the things you make. Some professions allow you to make unique gear that has very noticeable bonuses. Some utility items can only be created by players with the correct professions, such as potions, enchants, or sockets. You can even make mounts!
• Finally, there’s the completionism angle. Professions have lots of different achievements associated with them. You have to engage with them if you want to have as many achievements as possible.

Here’s the list of WoW professions and what they’re useful for:

Gathering

• Herbalism allows you to collect plants and use them in other professions.
• Mining allows you to mine ore, gems, and other assorted goodies from rocks to use in other professions.
• Skinning allows you to skin animals and use the hides in other professions.

Crafting

• Alchemy allows you to create potions, elixirs, flasks, oils, and cauldrons.
• Blacksmithing allows you to create mail armor, plate armor, melee weapons, and various consumables.
• Enchanting allows you to create enchantments for your gear.
• Engineering allows you to create ranged weapons, and various utility items.
• Inscription allows you to create glyphs, scrolls, offhands, and cosmetics.
• Jewelcrafting allows you to create rings, necklaces, trinkets, and gems for sockets.
• Leatherworking allows you to make leather armor, mail armor, cloaks, and armor kits.
• Tailoring allows you to make cloth armor, shirts, bags, and cosmetics.

Secondary

• Fishing allows you to catch fish and sometimes other items from various bodies of water across Azeroth.
• Cooking allows you to cook raw ingredients into meals that heal and buff.
• Archaeology allows you to excavate ancient artifacts that give you knowledge of the lore. It also gives you useful items in the process. This profession has been somewhat neglected in the latest expansions.

The Profession system in WoW has been majorly overhauled with Dragonflight, and now features an entire skill tree you can level up with Knowledge. All of the primary professions have several specializations, which allow you to focus on some aspect of the trade. For example, some specialization talents make you craft higher quality items, while others improve your efficiency with reagents.

Each specialization is its own skill tree with several nodes, and putting points into them small bonuses to a specific aspect of the profession. For example, you can get more Skill while gathering specific herbs. Each node in the tree has its own Knowledge investment milestones (usually every 5 points) that unlock very significant bonuses. For example, putting enough Knowledge into Botany lets you collect herbs without dismounting, which means you can zip around the map and collect herbs as fast as your flying mount will take you.

To unlock the specialization talents, you will need Profession Knowledge. Each Profession has its own Knowledge points, which you will have to get separately by engaging with the Profession and exploring the world. They are not easy to come by, you can’t get a lot of them fast, and once you spend them, you cannot respec your talents and get the Points back. Thus, improving your professions is meant to be a gradual process that feels more realistic and rewarding than just buying a bunch of reagents and spamming orange crafts until you hit level cap.

You can get the Knowledge Points from a variety of sources. Some of them are only single-use, such as Profession Masters, Faction Renown milestones, or hidden treasures. Some repeatable daily or weekly tasks will also reward Knowledge Points, if only a small amount at a time.
