ARC Raiders has 14 Weapon Stencils in Frozen Trail: eight are found Topside, five are rewards on the Frozen Trail Premium Pass, and one belongs to the Collector Set DLC. A Stencil changes a compatible gun’s appearance, not its combat stats. Learning a pattern is a one-time unlock; applying it to each individual weapon consumes Stencil Parts.
This guide covers every named Stencil, its reported weapon compatibility and application cost, the difference between raiding and paid-track rewards, and ways to gather the Parts without wasting raids. The official source split comes from Embark’s October 8 update. Named weapon matches and exact part costs use current community item data for Update 2.2, so always check the weapon’s own Stencils preview before spending.
ARC Raiders Weapon Stencils: Key Takeaways
- Only eight can drop Topside. You cannot farm the five Premium Stencils or Dragon’s Breath in raid containers.
- Learn once, paint each gun separately. One learned pattern can be reused, but a second weapon needs another set of Stencil Parts.
- Costs are rarity-based. Current in-game reports show 2 Parts for Uncommon, 4 for Rare, 7 for Epic and 15 for Legendary applications.
- Compatibility is not universal. Fortuna fits the Anvil, Serac the Bobcat, and many other designs have fixed weapon lists.
- Loot risk stays real. A painted gun can be taken in a raid; losing that copy does not delete the already-learned design.
- Stencils are not weapon blueprints or Amplification. They do not unlock crafting recipes, quality levels or perks.
How to Unlock All 14 ARC Raiders Weapon Stencils
Before you plan a farming loop, identify which of the three unlock channels applies to the look you want. Embark confirms the 8 + 5 + 1 split in its Frozen Trail 2.0 patch notes. These sources are not interchangeable.
| Unlock route | Designs | Your next step | Cannot be replaced by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Topside raid loot | 8 | Search eligible containers, carry the unlearned Stencil out, then learn it in Speranza. | Premium Pass or DLC rewards |
| Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass | 5 | Activate the Frozen Trail Pass, unlock Premium access and claim the five specified tiers. | Looting more Topside containers |
| Collector Set DLC | 1 | Get Dragon’s Breath through the official DLC; check the items owned on your platform. | Random raids or Premium Pass alone |
Choose your approach early: a full collection requires more than scavenging. If you only want a specific Topside color, you can keep farming containers or use the existing eight-design service. Neither option grants the five Premium patterns or the Collector-exclusive design.
Find Your Favorite Topside Stencil
Eight designs can be looted or delivered, but the Premium and Collector patterns have separate unlock requirements. Choose a route that matches the exact Stencil you still need.
All 14 Weapon Stencils: Compatibility, Rarity, Source and Cost
The table below separates unlock source from application cost. “Premium Pass 11” means the community-documented Stencil reward at Frozen Trail level 11; it is not a Topside location. Stencil Parts are paid when painting a gun, not when learning a found design. Values are current reports rather than a developer-published per-item table.
| Stencil | Rarity | Unlock source | Parts per gun | Compatible weapons |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Verdigris | Uncommon | Topside loot | 2 | Osprey, Canto, Stitcher, Bobcat, Vulcano, Il Toro, Hairpin, Stiletto |
| Garnet | Uncommon | Topside loot | 2 | Osprey, Canto, Stitcher, Bobcat, Vulcano, Il Toro, Hairpin, Venator, Burletta, Torrente, Anvil, Bantam, Stiletto, Renegade, Ferro, Kettle, Rattler, Bettina, Arpeggio, Tempest |
| Ochre | Uncommon | Topside loot | 2 | Osprey, Canto, Stitcher, Bobcat, Vulcano, Il Toro, Hairpin, Venator, Burletta, Torrente, Anvil, Bantam, Stiletto, Renegade, Ferro, Kettle, Rattler, Bettina, Arpeggio, Tempest |
| Cerulean | Rare | Topside loot | 4 | Osprey, Bobcat, Vulcano, Venator, Anvil, Bantam, Bettina, Arpeggio |
| Dusty Camo | Rare | Topside loot | 4 | Il Toro, Burletta, Torrente, Stiletto, Rattler, Tempest |
| Milky Terracotta | Rare | Topside loot | 4 | Canto, Hairpin, Burletta, Renegade, Ferro, Kettle |
| Slipstream | Epic | Topside loot | 7 | Il Toro, Anvil, Rattler |
| Tortoise | Epic | Topside loot | 7 | Anvil, Rattler |
| Fortuna | Epic | Premium Pass 11 | 7 | Anvil |
| Sacrifice | Epic | Premium Pass 23 | 7 | Renegade |
| Bulwark | Legendary | Premium Pass 35 | 15 | Hullcracker |
| Serac | Legendary | Premium Pass 47 | 15 | Bobcat |
| Empyrean | Epic | Premium Pass 57 | 7 | Osprey |
| Dragon's Breath | Legendary | Collector Set DLC | 15 | Tempest |
Compatibility check: Public lists disagree about the full reach of Verdigris, and some sources spell Milky Terracotta as “Terraccota”. The table uses the narrower currently documented Verdigris list rather than promising it works on every gun. In all cases, the in-game Stencils menu is the final check for your exact weapon and its current state.
Which Stencils Fit the Most Weapons?
Garnet and Ochre have broad documented coverage, making them flexible options if your loadout changes often. Verdigris is inexpensive too, but public compatibility lists differ; preview it on the weapon you actually use. For a fixed signature look, the Epic and Legendary choices can be more distinctive: Fortuna is made for Anvil, Bulwark for Hullcracker, Serac for Bobcat, and Dragon’s Breath for Tempest.
Do not choose a Stencil based on rarity alone. A Legendary pattern does not increase damage, reload speed or durability. If you plan to paint several spare rifles, a widely compatible two-Part finish usually makes more sense than repeatedly paying 15 Parts for a gun you frequently lose.
Where to Find the Eight Topside Stencils
Verdigris, Garnet, Ochre, Cerulean, Dusty Camo, Milky Terracotta, Slipstream and Tortoise are the eight raid-loot designs. They are physical items until learned. Extract first and use Learn and Consume when you return to Speranza, just as you would with an unlearned blueprint.
There is no verified fixed spawn or universal drop percentage for a particular Topside Stencil. Community reports mention residential, commercial, and some industrial containers. That suggests a container-density route, not a guaranteed room or a promise that the same suitcase will drop a new pattern twice.
A Short, Repeatable Stencil Collection Route
- Pick one of the eight. Confirm that your missing Stencil is actually Topside-eligible; there is no reason to hunt Fortuna or Serac in crates.
- Choose a familiar map. Residential districts in Buried City and mixed commercial areas on other maps give you accessible containers. A short safe run beats a long route that you rarely extract from.
- Open the right objects. Search luggage, wardrobes, cabinets, drawers, shelving, trash bins and containers that belong to the area’s loot category. Treat rare locked-room finds as bonuses, not certain Stencil spawns.
- Combine objectives. Gather Stencil Parts while completing routine material or blueprint runs, rather than using every raid solely to look for one cosmetic.
- Extract when the new item drops. Once you find an unlearned pattern, decide whether more loot is worth risking it. Banking one new design is progress even if the run ends early.
- Check your collection in Speranza. Learn the new pattern, mark it off your list and switch to the next missing source. Avoid repeatedly chasing a design you already learned.
For a route across the seven current maps, use the ARC Raiders Map & Loot Guide. If survival is the bottleneck, the Safe Exits Guide helps you plan extraction before filling your backpack. Neither resource claims a guaranteed Stencil drop.
Five Premium Reward Pass Stencils and Their Levels
The Frozen Trail Pass has 60 levels and separate Free and Premium reward tracks. Its five Stencils are on the Premium track, not in normal Topside loot. Community guides and in-game reward-screen reports identify the following levels; confirm each item on the live Reward Pass screen before buying or allocating Reward Points.
| Premium tier | Stencil | Fits | Reported Parts per application |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | Fortuna | Anvil | 7 |
| 23 | Sacrifice | Renegade | 7 |
| 35 | Bulwark | Hullcracker | 15 |
| 47 | Serac | Bobcat | 15 |
| 57 | Empyrean | Osprey | 7 |
Embark lists Premium access at 1,150 Raider Tokens and confirms that the Pass uses Reward Points from Feats. You can only progress one active Pass at a time. If you are working toward a specific Stencil tier, make sure Frozen Trail is the active Pass rather than Legacy before earning more Reward Points. See the official Reward Pass explanation and our Frozen Trail Guide for Feats, weekly milestones and reward timing.
Is Dragon’s Breath in the Premium Pass?
No. Dragon’s Breath is the single Collector Set DLC Stencil. The official Collector Set announcement also says the DLC includes access to the Frozen Trail Premium Pass. That may cover both categories for an owner of the DLC, but Dragon’s Breath itself is a separate Collector Set reward. It is not a hidden Legendary Topside drop.
How to Learn and Apply a Weapon Stencil
Learning a design and putting it on a gun are separate actions. You do not need to craft the design into a weapon recipe, and learning it does not grant a free painted gun.
- Bring the design home. Extract with a Topside Stencil; Premium and DLC designs are claimed through their own reward channels.
- Learn the unlock. In Speranza, locate the unlearned item and use the available Learn and Consume action. Check that the pattern now appears as learned.
- Select a compatible gun. Inspect a weapon copy in your stash or inventory and open its Stencils tab.
- Preview before spending. Choose the design and compare its appearance, compatibility and displayed Stencil Parts cost.
- Apply it to that copy. If you have enough Parts and the weapon is eligible, confirm the application. Other copies of the same gun are not automatically painted.
- Recheck after any upgrade. Weapon modifications and Amplification can change which appearance options are available. Do not spend rare Parts immediately before a planned Amplification without checking the in-game warning.
For example, learning Fortuna lets you apply the finish to an eligible Anvil. Painting your first Anvil for the reported seven Parts does not paint a second Anvil in storage; a second application takes another seven. That is a 14-Part commitment if you paint two copies.
How to Farm Stencil Parts Without Wasting Runs
Stencil Parts are a separate material from the actual design item. Embark confirms they are found Topside and needed for application. The community item database lists them as Epic materials found in Commercial, Residential and Industrial loot categories. An October item tracker highlights household cabinets, suitcases, wardrobes, drawers and commercial furniture. Not every container will supply Parts, and none has an official universal drop rate.
| Rarity of learned Stencil | Reported cost to paint one gun | Cost for three copies | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uncommon | 2 | 6 | Verdigris, Garnet, Ochre |
| Rare | 4 | 12 | Cerulean, Dusty Camo, Milky Terracotta |
| Epic | 7 | 21 | Fortuna, Slipstream, Tortoise, Empyrean |
| Legendary | 15 | 45 | Serac, Bulwark, Dragon’s Breath |
The arithmetic is simple, but it changes how you should plan raids. One favorite Legendary Stencil on two guns uses a reported 30 Parts. Applying the same Legendary finish to three replacement guns costs another 45 Parts if the system and tooltip requirements remain unchanged. Check your current in-game cost before committing.
Practical farming method: search a compact residential or commercial cluster, pick up useful materials and Stencil Parts along the way, then extract with a manageable risk level. Buried City’s interior districts are a reasonable place to begin because they offer many household containers, but it is not a verified highest-yield map. You can also combine Parts farming with the Material Gathering Routes Guide.
Do not invent a crafting shortcut. The current Stencil Parts item reference shows no crafting recipe or recycling/salvage source. Search qualifying loot rather than spending station resources on a nonexistent conversion. Reward Pass bundles may help, but verify their current tier and quantity in game.
Which Weapon Should You Paint First?
Paint the weapon you actually enjoy using, not just the rarest gun in your stash. Because a painted gun can be looted and each replacement takes more Parts, a favorite long-term loadout often delivers better value than testing a high-cost pattern on every temporary weapon.
| Your goal | Useful Stencil direction | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Use one design on many guns | Garnet or Ochre; verify Verdigris | Reported broad compatibility and 2-Part cost on regular firearm copies. |
| Play Anvil most raids | Fortuna, Slipstream, Tortoise or a compatible low-cost pattern | Several distinct looks are associated with Anvil, but availability differs by source. |
| Cosmetic for Bobcat | Serac or a compatible general pattern | Serac is a Premium Legendary finish and repeatedly costs 15 Parts. |
| Focus on Hullcracker | Bulwark | Dedicated Legendary visual for the anti-ARC specialist. |
| Use Osprey frequently | Empyrean, Cerulean or a compatible general pattern | Premium and Topside paths offer different costs. |
| Want Collector Tempest look | Dragon’s Breath | Requires DLC; cannot be replaced by loot farming. |
A gun’s color does not make it stronger. If you are still choosing between rifles and sidearms for solo, ARC or PvP raids, compare actual performance in our ARC Raiders Weapon Tier List, then return to this compatibility table for the look.
What Happens if You Lose, Upgrade or Amplify a Painted Gun?
Embark explicitly warns that if another Raider loots your customized weapon, the Stencil stays on that physical gun. The learned design remains in your collection, but you do not recover the Parts spent on the lost copy. Treat every application as a consumable cosmetic expense, not account-wide free paint.
Community tests also report that amplifying a weapon removes its Stencil and that Amplified versions cannot simply be repainted in the same way. Because this interaction is not detailed in the public October 8 patch notes, check the current Amplify and Stencils screens before decorating a gun you plan to amplify. If you are already working on a weapon’s fifth tier, use our Amplified Weapons Guide for the separate progression path. Cosmetic Stencils do not grant Amplification bonuses.
Once a design is learned, duplicate physical Stencils are no longer needed to relearn the same pattern. A community item index lists a 5,000-Coin vendor value for duplicates, but verify the current game tooltip before selling; that value is not a guaranteed future price.
Weapon Stencils vs Blueprints, Furniture Designs and Amplified Weapons
| System | What you unlock or change | Main remaining cost |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon Stencil | Cosmetic finish usable on compatible guns | Stencil Parts for every painted gun |
| Weapon Blueprint | Recipe for a craftable weapon or item | Materials and the right Workshop station |
| Furniture Design | Craftable Outpost decoration or storage furniture | Furniture recipe, materials and placement |
| Weapon Amplification | Higher-tier weapon properties and chosen perks | Research, compatible weapon, Gunsmith IV and upgrade materials |
The All Blueprints Guide tracks equipment recipes. The Furniture Designs Guide is for Outpost furniture. These systems share collectible terminology but should not be mixed into one misleading “all designs” count.
ARC Raiders Weapon Stencils FAQ
How many Weapon Stencils are in ARC Raiders?
There are 14 in Frozen Trail 2.0: eight Topside designs, five Premium Reward Pass designs and one Collector Set DLC design, according to Embark.
Can I farm all 14 Stencils in normal raids?
No. Topside loot covers eight. The other six are tied to the Premium Reward Pass and Collector Set DLC. Looting more containers cannot substitute for those eligibility requirements.
Which Stencil is exclusive to the Collector Set?
Dragon’s Breath. Embark lists it as a Collector Set DLC item. Owning the Collector Set also provides Premium Pass access, but the Stencil itself is the DLC-exclusive reward.
Which Premium Pass levels contain Weapon Stencils?
Community reward-screen guides list Fortuna at 11, Sacrifice at 23, Bulwark at 35, Serac at 47 and Empyrean at 57. Confirm the current Frozen Trail Premium track before planning around a specific tier.
How many Stencil Parts do I need?
Current community reports list two per Uncommon application, four per Rare, seven per Epic and 15 per Legendary. Multiply that by the number of weapon copies you want to paint, then verify the cost in the Stencils preview.
Where do Stencil Parts come from?
From Topside scavenging. Residential and commercial containers are common reported sources, with industrial containers also named in the item wiki. Drops are not guaranteed; search dense clusters and extract what you find.
Does a learned Stencil apply to every weapon I own?
No. It unlocks the pattern, but compatible weapon copies are painted one at a time and each application consumes Parts.
Can I lose a Stencil after learning it?
You can lose a gun carrying the finish, but the learned pattern stays available. An unlearned physical Topside Stencil still needs to be extracted and learned.
Can Weapon Stencils increase damage or recoil control?
No. Stencils are cosmetics. For a performance upgrade, look at weapon modifications, normal upgrades or the separate Amplification system.
Can I apply a Stencil to an Amplified gun?
Current community demonstrations report that amplification replaces the painted appearance and prevents further Stencil applications on that amplified weapon. Check the in-game menu before committing Parts, as this interaction may change with patches.
Are Furniture Designs and Stencils the same collectible?
No. Furniture Designs unlock Outpost furniture. Weapon Stencils unlock patterns for compatible guns and use Stencil Parts for applications.
Final Checklist: Collect the Look, Not the Wrong Unlock
First decide whether your preferred Stencil is Topside, Premium or DLC-only. Then confirm which gun it fits, learn the design, and budget Parts for every copy you want to paint. If you pick a valuable or risky weapon, remember the finish can leave with the gun when another Raider loots it.
The cheapest way to start is often a Topside design you can use on a weapon you already like. If you prefer a particular collectible rather than repeated random searching, the LepreStore Weapon Stencils service covers the eight Topside patterns only. The five Premium finishes and Dragon’s Breath remain separate game unlocks.
