Umbral Ashes is a recolored version of the Ashes of Belo’ren mount from the March on Quel’Danas raid. To obtain it, you should complete the Umbral Champion achievement that requires players to join the top 1% of players on the Mythic+ Score leaderboard. In most cases, to achieve this goal, you have to complete +18 or +19 level keys, which are much more difficult than the other seasonal Keystone achievements such as Keystone Master or even Keystone Legend and Keystone Myth. The exact Mythic+ score cutoffs for the Umbral Champion achievement may depend on the current season, dungeon rotation, and the number of participants.
Each time you complete a Keystone dungeon, you earn Mythic+ Rating. The amount you receive depends on the key level, how quickly you finish the run, and which Affixes are active. The most reliable way to earn a high M+ Score without purchasing the Umbral Ashes boosting is to time every dungeon on the highest difficulty you can manage. Doing that requires serious persistence and a group of highly skilled teammates.
