What are War Plans in Diablo 4?

Remember roguelite games where you can move to different rooms with enemies, random encounters, stores, or healing and such? You can assemble a similar lineup of activities out of the things you’d be doing in the Diablo 4 endgame anyway. Here are the activities available in War Plans:

• Nightmare Dungeons;
• Helltides;
• Kurast Undercity;
• Lair Bosses;
• Infernal Hordes;
• The Pit;

Completing each activity will unlock Activity Points, which you can use to unlock up to 7 upgrades on each activity’s skill tree. They will add unique bonuses, such as better loot or additional enemies for more juicy loot. Some unlocks will synergize with different activities, such as spawning Andariel in the Pit. Tree of Whispers can activate for any of the nodes on your War Plans, and you will earn Points for its own Activity tree! Try them out and see what’s the most fun! War Plan Runs vs War Plan Leveling

War Plan Runs deliver full playlists and their War Chests. War Plan Leveling advances the selected Activity Tree to the level you need. Choose Runs to farm valuable rewards; choose Leveling to unlock powerful bonuses.

Which Activities Can Appear?

A War Plan can chain up to five objectives drawn from Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, Kurast Undercity, Lair Bosses, Infernal Hordes, and the Pit. The active board controls the order of activities. If the plan requires a Sigil and none is available, the system can generate one for the next objective.

Party Sync and Board Ownership

Party members can synchronize a War Plan in Temis through a group vote. The initiating player’s generated board is distributed to the party regardless of individual War Plan level or progression state. What that means for you is we can complete your War Plans in selfplay mode by party syncing our boosters to it.

War Plan Rewards and RNG

Objectives grant Activity XP for their linked trees, and a full plan awards its War Chest. Exact item drops, cache contents, Greater Affixes, and Mythic Uniques are random. Since you’ll need all of them to refine your build, War Plans are always worth doing.

What Counts as a Completed War Plan?

With a Runs order, we clear every objective in each selected War Plan and claim its War Chest, giving your character the chest rewards. With a Leveling order, you choose an Activity Tree and target level; we earn the XP needed to unlock that level and its rewards for your character.
