WoW Forever Mining Ores, Materials, and Unlocks

Mining gathers ores such as Copper Ore and Mithril Ore. Smelting turns ores into bars used by crafting professions. Forever also adds scarce materials such as Pyrite, which can appear alongside mined ore.

Mining contributes to Camping through objects such as Lodestone and Rock Garden. Lodestone provides a melee Attack Power benefit, while Rock Garden also produces a common mining node over time.

Why More Ore Does Not Mean More Mining Skill

A vein can take several gathering interactions to empty, but it can grant at most one Mining skill point. The number of ore pieces you collect is therefore not the number of skill points you earn.

Smelting can also grant skill points while the recipe still allows skill-ups. Once it stops doing so, processing more of the same ore only adds bars. If your goal is higher Mining skill, choose nodes and recipes that can still improve it. If your goal is a stockpile for crafting, track the required ores and bars separately.
