WoW Forever Skinning Materials, Tools, and Unlocks
Skinning gathers leather and hides from skinnable creatures. Materials include Light Leather and Medium Leather. You need a Skinning Knife to use the gathering skill.
Skinning also has its own Camping crafts. The current Beta Camping 101: Skinning quest requires skill 20 and teaches Camp Chair. Reaching the required skill does not automatically complete the quest or teach the recipe.
Keep Leather for Your Own Camping Crafts
Before selling your leather or using it all for Leatherworking, reserve materials for the Skinning campsite objects you plan to craft. Camp Chair uses three Light Leather and two Simple Wood per craft.
The Field Guide recipe uses three Medium Leather, two Slimy Murloc Scale, and one Fine Thread. Its campsite object lets players gain Track Beasts. Gathering enough leather therefore covers only part of the preparation: these crafts also need non-leather reagents and the learned recipe.
