The Forked Tower: Magic is the second 48‑player field operation in the Occult Crescent, arriving in Patch 7.55. Unlike its predecessor, Forked Tower: Blood, this version comes with two difficulty modes – Normal and Extreme. This is a direct response to player feedback and a shift in design philosophy from director Naoki Yoshida.

After Forked Tower: Blood launched as a high‑difficulty‑only duty, Yoshida admitted it was a “misstep in development”. The content wasn’t meant to be hardcore, but it ended up too difficult for most players to even access. The team acknowledged the mistake and promised that future Occult Crescent instances would include both a casual and a challenging version. The Forked Tower: Magic delivers on that promise.
