The Forked Tower: Magic is the second 48‑player field operation in the Occult Crescent, arriving in Patch 7.55. Unlike its predecessor, Forked Tower: Blood, this version comes with two difficulty modes – Normal and Extreme. This is a direct response to player feedback and a shift in design philosophy from director Naoki Yoshida.

After Forked Tower: Blood launched as a high‑difficulty‑only duty, Yoshida admitted it was a “misstep in development”. The content wasn’t meant to be hardcore, but it ended up too difficult for most players to even access.
