How Your FFXIV Crucible Order Is Handled
The Crucible is solo content, so the service is completed directly on your character in piloted mode.
What Is the Crucible of the Unbroken in FFXIV?
The Crucible of the Unbroken is a solo, Beastmaster-exclusive duty introduced through the level-30 job quests in Patch 7.56. A run follows a branching Board toward a final boss. Before entering, you review enemy weaknesses and choose a roster of 10 to 15 beasts; each battle uses three familiars assigned to Battlehorns. HP does not automatically recover between encounters, so route choice, campsites, consumables, Beast Gear, Feed, and enmity control matter across the full run.
The Crucible has five Boards. After clearing all five and completing the required Beastmaster quest, First, Second, and Third Degree become available on each Board. Higher Degrees increase enemy HP and damage. Third Degree can submit scores to seasonal Crucible Rankings when Participate in Rankings is enabled. Which Crucible Board Do You Need?
The Crucible of the Unbroken has five separate Boards. The first three unlock through Beastmaster progression, followed by the First Master’s Board and Second Master’s Board at Level 50. After the full Board progression is complete, First, Second, and Third Degree can be selected on each Board.

Select the Board you need in the order form, then choose its Degree. The last three Boards are Level 50 with item level sync 100, 120, and 135.
What Is the Difference Between Crucible Degrees?

| First Degree | First challenge setting. Enemy HP and damage are increased above the normal Board. |
| Second Degree | Higher enemy HP and damage. Beast Ranks, roster coverage, items, and Board routing matter more. |
| Third Degree | Highest Degree and the only one used for seasonal Crucible Rankings. Participate in Rankings must be enabled for the score to count. |

What Your Crucible Score Changes
Crucible score affects normal progression too. Faded and Bright Remnants of Resilience are awarded in proportion to your score, and every familiar brought into the Board receives Beast EXP based on that result. A higher score therefore means more Beast Rank progress and more materials for Beastmaster gear, even when you are not submitting a Third Degree ranking score.

Apex, Legendary, and Third Degree Achievements
Each of the five Crucible Boards has separate achievements for Apex and Legendary results. Apex or better on all five completes Freeing the Beast and awards the Dangerous Gamer title. Legendary on all five completes Crucible Master and awards Master of the Menagerie. Clearing all five Boards under Third Degree completes Unbroken Endgame and awards The Unbroken.
